  1. To be fair though. It wasn't really the "official" player of the tournament. It was just Dion Dublin's view, who SkySports asked.
  2. Really? I think they're quite alike. They both will start deep, but make good attacking runs. Granted Gerrard's more attacking, but under Kenny, he's become much more conserved, like Jack is. Hope I'm wrong though. McEachran won't be making his way into the squad any time soon though. Might get through in time for Brazil '14, but we'll have to wait.
  3. I don't think so, not in this 4-3-3 Capello's playing. They're too similar. I'd like them to work, but just don't see it being so.
  4. Don't think this would surprise/outrage anyone. Wilshere for Lampard makes sense. Though Gerrard-Wilshere will not work in midfield, trust me on that I don't see how Parker will be ahead of Lampard in the pecking order either.
  5. Yeah, was confirmed on SkySports today.
  6. This really sounds like last season..
  7. Yeah definitely! Amazed to see he's kept up his sharp reactions and instincts after missing an entire season, behind Joe Hart. Great buy for Aston Villa! Arsenal must be kicking themselves for missing out. Shame he's 35 though..
  8. And now we can breathe Well done Nando.
  9. By the way, on Pastore's decision to join PSG.. So basically, PSG paid more.
  10. Easy mistake. Agree about Abonglahor, he is. That being said, he's got some potential that needs unlocking. Reminds me of another Carlton Cole though, a view reflected by Villa fans too.
  11. I think we are though, they're just not public. I mean this is the hope I maintain. I could be 100% wrong, in which case, it is worrying. But lately, trusting the club's decisions has gone well (since Villas-Boas was appointed anyway) so I'm holding onto that little bit of hope they'll maintain that run
  12. I meant, as we thought we were set to land Hiddink. Through various media hype and all that.
  13. Villas-Boas has allowed Josh to play in a more advanced role with Mikel sitting deep and Lampard also around that area.
  14. Nice to hear Ray Wilkins on SkySports defending our youth Speaking very highly of McEachran & Sturridge. Now he's complimenting Anelka as a role striker, though he did use statistics
  15. Hope Villas-Boas takes note of Albrighton
  16. It doesn't mean we're not trying though. Yeah we lost out on this one, but there's more Pastore's in the world. Keep calm. Transfers will take place..
  17. Relax. All we've heard is Roma have joined the race. Doesn't mean we've exited in anyway or form.
  18. I think if anything, our capture of Villas-Boas shows Chelsea can conduct transfer business, in the shadows of the media. Only making it obvious when needs be. There are quite a few examples of that in recent months. The bid for Modric was a huge surprise and has not been as messy as being made out. Pastore was always rumoured but at least we did make a bid. If the player wants to chase the money, then fair play to him. So far we've bought young, which is refreshing after our finished-product purchases. The Boas said we'll be in the market after this tournament, but that doesn't mean we've not been in it thus far. For all we know there are negotiations being undertaken, just because SkySports, BBC or ESPN does not report it, does not make it untrue. Patience people. We never thought we'd land Villas-Boas when we were set to land Hiddink.
  19. Well in fairness, it's not like we're not trying. Example; Pastore.
  20. Yeah agree that Kakuta should. Should be with a Premier League side though, no point sending him to France. Wigan would be good since they've sold N'Zogbia and probably Rodellega soon. Kakuta will be a good player for them to bring in, be it on the wing or in an attacking midfield position.
