  1. I hope this does have the required effect. But I hope Drogba goes in an absolutely skins them first a foremost. As a fan like us, he's got to be appalled with the lack of 'performance' from most of these guys. Then he can go about doing whatever it is he's been brought in for. Whether it's hugging, joking or actually coaching.
  2. http://metro.co.uk/2015/12/29/7-reasons-why-arsenal-should-re-sign-chelseas-cesc-fabregas-5589506/ I was going to laugh this off straight away - But I want to know what you guys think.
  3. In the broad sense, yeah the money from Mata, KdB, Lukaku & Luiz did go far to fund our acquisitions that you've mentioned. But we've seen that again, lack of vision and foresight by the club means we are looking back on the sales of these guys with deeper regret than usual. In a nutshell; we decided to buy band-aids, by selling bandages.
  4. Mr 2 steps forward, 1 step back? Debatable. I made the same case for Ramires tbf, should've played instead of Mikel.
  5. Agree with that, but to play alongside him. I don't think he's as bad as you make out nor is he as good as others have made out. Like Henrique said, the gulf in difference between himself and Cahill is grossly exaggerated. But the boy's got potential, undeniable potential. He's the best of a current crop of diminishing talent in terms of that and he has improved ever so slightly on a game-to-game basis. He is still only 21..
  6. Euros or Pounds, still a big amount of money. Our failure came in not reinvesting that on another world-class CB there and then.
  7. What a disappointment sale this was, but I don't think anyone can disagree with the club for accepting £50m for him. Everyone's got their price, that's football.
  8. But he is looking for another striker, hot rumour of them going for Rhodes again in Jan. http://the72.co.uk/42865/middlesbrough-boss-aitor-karanka-weighing-move-jordan-rhodes/
  9. After seeing this time and time again on the Torres thread, this is by far my least favourite phrase in football now
  10. This false 9 thing really isn't for him. Don't think he looks comfortable there at all, needs to be playing with an out-and-out striker - Shame we don't seem to have any of those lately.
  11. Hmm.. I don't know what to make of that. I mean some of us were slating Lukaku once upon a time for not sticking around to breakthrough into our team - Could the same be applicable for Bamford? To be honest though, I don't know why Pardew even wanted him. He signed Wikham for £8m ffs, after that Bamford was always going to be 3/4th choice behind Chamakh and Gayle (until they shifted him). Still young though, send him back to Boro maybe?
  12. Is he still better playing double-pivot?
  13. It's funnier when you think that someone spent money actually making them before its definite
  14. Man would it be funny if he doesn't end up at United - The fans who bought those scarves
  15. Remy really does need to fit for these situations. There's only so much we can keep saying he should play, but when he's not there to take his opportunities...
  16. You never know, Karanka could want him back. They've been linked to Jordan Rhodes in Jan (given Blackburn's struggles), but I'm sure he'd gladly take Bamford again.
  17. Come on Stats, you're better than that. Like with every thread that starts in it's early days (see; Lampard), there are some valid points that aren't out of spite.
  18. Yeah, I mean I did bring up the same issue in the Ivanovic thread. But at the same time, given the fact we're talking about hindsight lately on various ex-players, Rahman could come good with a run of games. Whether it's true or not, it's still a proactive approach. This approach is reactionary, Hiddink's waiting for his disaster to fix itself without some intervention other than 'look at yourselves in the mirror'. Again, I'm not calling for his head but I don't buy this argument he hasn't had enough time to analyse our weak links.
  19. Okay so starting with Leicester Square: Zoo Bar Ruby Tiger Tiger Rise Jewel Bar Then going towards Soho/Camden Shaka Zulu Camden Lock Lock 17 Elephant Head (This one's actually a pub but great amosphere, could have a few drinks there first?) O'Neills (Near Chinatown, really good night buzz playing rock music (alternate really), open late) Roxy (Tottenham Court Road) And if all else fails, my personal favourite: Shoreditch (can never go wrong in shoreditch, east London, great bars/clubs)
  20. I don't want to be 'that guy', but if he couldn't force his way into Palace's plans.. I mean they bought Wikham ffs, Bamford is better than him. Whether its the fault of the player or coach remains to be seen.
  21. I do ponder one thing, if Ivanovic is dropped who do you guys want in? The way I see it we've got 2 options; Azpi - Terry - Zouma - Baba or Aina - Terry - Zouma - Azpi Ignoring choice of CBs, do you guys think Baba is ready to make that LB spot his? I mean Azpilicueta is in fact a terrific left-back for all intents and purposes.
