Might not agree, but I do prefer these responses to the plain he was rubbish & he'll never be good. You make an excellent point about his desire to play striker being a deterrence from him being anywhere near the squad. Though I recall he did clarify many times he was simply happy to be playing, I'm sure he didn't graciously accept that as Anelka did when Drogba came back into the team.
