  1. We should buy him, just to say we did. Then sell him
  2. Because I know that no academy products/youngers will actually get a shot.. Bastian Schweinsteiger anyone?
  3. It's always been about that. They want almost £5m
  4. As Term said before. The club must approach his departure with the utmost respect and sensitivity. We're talking respectable testimonial matches, respect and homage paid to Lampard for all his services etc. They cannot disregard him.. It simply won't be an option after the Di Matteo fiasco.
  5. Yes. Cough up the money to pay him for the extra years on his contract that he supposedly wants..
  6. Smart thing would be to let him stay at WBA. So Chelsea will probably recall him....
  7. Well I thought we could still get him to sign a pre-contract with us in January so we would get him when the summer window opens up. That being said, pre-contracts aren't actually guarantees to the extent they should be
  8. Heard (from an NUFC fan) there's an issue regarding what we're willing to pay. Apparently his representatives want payment that would make Ba's fee rise up to, potentially, £12million.
  9. I'm baffled as to why people are talking about him on the wings?! He's spent as much time as Sturridge talking about being a center-forward and now he's on fire. Stick him on the wings and we're going to get a player who's going to end up complaining. Daniel Sturridge-syndrome.
  10. "our hands" for now. Till when he comes of age and we choose to spend £30million on someone else that'll fill the position he could've taken. Or should I say, he ruins his potential. Because it's always the player's fault.
  11. If it makes any difference, I still think he's a donkey.
  12. This wasn't a dig at Roman by the way. Simply saying that there's an enormous pressure here to have the big-money player playing ahead of the ones that didn't command such a huge fee.
  13. Ferguson doesn't care what gets paid. He won't sacrifice results just because a hefty fee was paid, as proven by his dismissal of Berbatov. Here at Chelsea managers are simple yes-men to the oligarch that finances this club.
  14. No, no, no. What's the point of signing Villa (if he's relatively cheap) then signing Falcao for mega-money? Then Falcao will be given more opportunities than Villa. I'm all for competition but if you sign one striker for under £20m then another for £50m, which one will the manager be more pressured to play?
  15. "second striker to compliment.. Torres"
  16. No thanks. Seen him at Leti, one to avoid.
  17. I really do hate when Stewards tell you to sit down. Though in my experience most Stamford Bridge ones (in MHS) do tend to be quite lenient
  18. Decent option, final year of his contract, should be able to get a deal under £10million. But I hope we're adding more.
  19. Not quite sure what's more hilarious.. The way The Sun have worded this or the way the OP has believed them word-for-word. Lampard is a legend but the club is not bigger than one individual.
  20. Might not agree, but I do prefer these responses to the plain he was rubbish & he'll never be good. You make an excellent point about his desire to play striker being a deterrence from him being anywhere near the squad. Though I recall he did clarify many times he was simply happy to be playing, I'm sure he didn't graciously accept that as Anelka did when Drogba came back into the team.
  21. I wholeheartedly believe Sturridge didn't get a chance because we decided his name wasn't "big" enough to gamble on. Doesn't surprise me people are now blaming him.
  22. Don't you remember the praise for the board when we signed Oscar, Hazard & co. in June?
