Couldn't agree more. Though I admit my assessment comes from watching him in the Confed Cup, so someone can argue that could've been a one-off and his Spurs form speaks truth to his value. But from what I saw in the Confed Cup he's tactically sound, someone Mourinho would definitely give a run of games to. He seems like he can hold his own too, so alongside Matic in the big games we'd certainly be able to use that security he'll offer in front of the back line. Against weaker teams he'll be able to assist the attacking midfield players making those intelligent passes into spaces for the wide players to run into the channels. I think Tottenham will really try to squeeze every million out of us. I wouldn't want to see him come for more than £20million

For Adam Lallana, he should most definitely not join us or Liverpool. He's 25 and he's going to be expensive without a doubt, he's a player who's not going going to reach the heights of Xavi, Iniesta, Lampard, Gerrard.. But he's a great player without a doubt. He's ideal for a club like Man United who are deseperately short of quality midfield players and where he's guaranteed to play more than 30 games. He's in the form of his career and should be consistently playing, it would be a great shame for England and for him to see a quality player like him on the bench.

Personally with shirt names, I go for players who have become legends here.. So even if they move on it'll still be alright to wear. So out of your list that would probably be Cech, Ivanovic and perhaps Cahill. I've always gone for Lampard, but I'd see myself getting Cole this year (if I buy one) and Terry thereafter.

FA Releases Four Point Plan inc. B-Team league

Struggling to see how they'll be able to implement this without breaking a few laws.. -
The problem with this, both points, is that we'll then keep in this constant loop of "transition". While Oscar, Hazard & co begin to mature and come into their own we'll continuously be halted by the absence of a long-term striker. And if we took Blue Armour's suggestion of using him to bring through Lukaku, what if Ibra is brilliant in the 2 season we get out of him and thus he actually hampers Lukaku's progress?

The partnership works in Mourinho's system because they do the minimum you expect from defenders, to defend the ball. Doing what you're asked doesn't make you world class because it's the least you're expecting to happen. I've said it before and I maintain that Cahill can be a serious liability on the ball when he tries to carry possession out of danger. He's forgiven for it most the time, and so goes unnoticed, because he's very good at covering the ground to make for it with his last-ditch tackles. I mean some saw his tackle on Snodgrass as world class defending but I saw it as a perfectly normal trait you're expecting from your central defenders. Not saying Cahill is bad or anything, he's capable of doing the job assigned. He's certainly not untouchable though.
-
Because we've seen many one-season-wonders emerge before & fail to replicate that form with a big move. He's still 20, plenty of time to make a move once he's allowed to progress with more football. He'll get a bigger taste of Europe with Everton in Europa too than he will with us.
-
The problem is you're then continuing to build around short-term players. That's a mistake of this season choosing to use Eto'o & Torres, but it was justified because we were limited in what we could do in this window and Mourinho had to adopt himself within this squad. Ibra will be 33 in October so we'll get at best 2-seasons of prime Zlatan.
-
He'll probably be more respectful in this one, I don't expect to see much said against Chelsea.
-
I hope when he retires Jose's autobiography will be a massive "tell all exposé", even about what happened at Chelsea!!
-
Well surely PSG would elect to part with Zlatan before Cavani? The Swede might be on better form but he's older and they can build around Cavani more they can around Zlatan.
-
I do want to see statistics for chances created. We've always blamed lack of decent strike force for lack of goals (which, don't get me wrong, is totally valid), but is there also a problem with the guys behind the strikers?
-
Because Arbeloa is the only one who stayed on Jose's side

I'd actually say you do option c - We know how reckless public votes get on here..

Unnecessary surgery pre-World Cup 2010, instead of letting his injury heal with time. Didn't want to miss the World Cup so he rushed it.
-
It's probably because he knows he's assured a place in the Brazil squad. World Cup year can make a player play as well as anything if he knows he's up for selection but no guaranteed.. But when the opposite is true, you're more concerned about staying fit to get on the plane. Let's hope after the WC he'll go back to first half-season form!
