Reece has potential to be there for sure, but he’s got to prove he’s intelligent enough to play there. I think it would be an interesting possibility with our new RB coming in. Although I love Reece have to remember his injury problems have been pretty relentless so sadly we shouldn’t expect him to be key to our plans until we see he has got past it tho.

Kinda disappointed we’ve not got a CM in yet. Really want all key signings to get a proper preseason this time.
-
In CM is not that much an exaggeration. Our whole project is over if Enzo gets injured atm.
-
Reading Inter’s forum is hilarious, they don’t want Lukaku back and are so happy that they robbed us blind selling him to us, don’t want a penny to flow back for him
-
I want him in (or another top CM) for the preseason bootcamp. Team bonding and building experience as much as anything.
-
For some reason there is something really likeable about Poch and the promise of a side that works extremely hard. At this point all I want is a team that play intensely and passionately for the badge and leave everything out there. If we can get top 4, it will be a bonus. Don’t even care in the slightest he used to be at Spurs, just as doesn’t bother me Mou and Conte went to Spurs after us.

Let them cook. Doing a good job so far.

Anyone got a good understanding of how we stand in terms of FFP after all these sales?

This whole thread is worth a read before judging the Mason Mount situation, explains how he has paid for PR to try to control the narrative and his link to Matt Law who is on the pay roll to write good press for him
-
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/06/30/Chelsea-transfer-analysis-mason-mount-manchester-united/ No way Matt Law has any relationship with the club anymore: absolutely slamming them on Twitter and in press. Can't trust that he knows a thing about what is going on since the takeover and there is no way the people at the club are feeding him info when he's writing shit like this about them.

A 2 hour video??

Yes should definitely be making an offer, him and Madueke would be perfect balance of youth and experience for RW. But loads of clubs will be offering him so I doubt he'll come here on terms we'll agree to.
-
I don’t think we are in comparable grounds here. We sort of really are playing real life FM which pretty much no other club is doing, replacing basically the whole squad. It could work but it would almost definitely work better with some experience mixed in. What we do know from loads of people that became top pros and won everything is that they speak a lot about the importance of the older, experienced heads around them before they hit their prime. We have real lack of that now. I think really you want one such person per area (GK, defense, midfield, attack).
-
Surprising no one has bought Zubimendi yet. Thought he was inevitably Barca bound but saw Laportes comments that they can’t afford him or Kimmich. Would be a rock solid midfield if we had Zubi, Caicedo and Enzo.
-
So losing Mount basically comes down to the new directors wanting players including him to be on low base highly performance related contracts I guess. They didn’t rate him so high they would break it for him but Todd was going to. Right call probs. sad to lose him all the same. Players that have a history with us like him are rare these days. I have an emotional attachment to him but it is what it is. Good luck Mason.
-
He was the public face of a consortium that bought and now own the club. He himself owns a %, but Clearlake Capital (cofounded by Eghbali) are the main owners and (real) decision makers.
-
Depends on his price / salary. If he is cheap, would add experience / depth to the midfield. Kessie is already excellent at pressing from midfield and pushing up to press in the attacking line, has a rock solid injury record, in general just a solid player. Could play in a 2 or a 3 midfield. We need numbers so I'm not averse to it tbh, although obviously wouldn't be the most exciting signing in history.
-
Amazing how many people on here do not understand this. I don’t think Boehly is involved (or trusted to be involved by the people with real power) in the sporting side anymore. He is lucky to still have a job and probably got a serious dressing down a few times over his performance in that role.
-
He will be OK, which is all we need atm
-
Interesting, not every player we're thinking about is young AF then
-
Who tf is Ângelo? Assume we'll have to wait 5 years to get a work permit for him, if we ever get one at all? Does he look insane in some kind of data someone can find?
-
Personally I think next week is when we will start making some moves, in the new FFP calendar.

https://www.juventuz.com/threads/dušan-vlahović.44783/page-197 Interesting reading Juve thread on Vlahovic, player who I am dubious on - they say many times that he is bad at heading, hold up play, and is essentially (currently) just a skilled poacher in the box. Also gets called lazy (and unfit) a fair bit and that his confidence is shot since being at Juve. Plenty of people saying Allegri's system ruined him and his confidence. Would be a big bet to take him on. However, IF there was a phenomenal deal on the table with Lukaku going the other way then I would still be tempted and see what Poch and his staff can do with him. He is not yet in his prime and could improve a lot, so if we can get him for OK fee then should be resellable without huge faff. I guess Lukaku plus £20m would be the sort of deal I'd be open to.
