  1. We offered 130, so apparently they've got so pissed off, they lowballing themselves 🤪 Seriously thinking about picking up twitter "sport journalism" in summer. I won't be much of a tik-toker, but this bullshit for clicks from muh insider sources I can produce all day long.
  2. True, thought Vivell is filling for this instead TB as he is coming from more of a recruitment background after all
  3. Care to elaborate on this? Of what I understand, the 120 mil release clause in typical Spanish manner is ridiculous, compared to actual player's worth, to prevent other clubs activating it without original club's consent. We could just route this 120 + tax through Enzo and run, but we want to avoid a single expense of this size, so we are negotiating for a sum sizably bigger, than said clause, but in installments. So given no immediate interest from other clubs we aren't really negotiating for some incredibly great deal for us, are we? Don't Benfica feel bit too powerful here?
  4. I do not believe a single word of this tweet. Multi million dollar business is, after all, business, not 8 year old prima donnas who can afford to walk away because they didn't like the tweet or felt touched with offer. Media buzz is just another way of negotiation, they will pull all the tricks but it all comes for both sides to feel stuffed with cash in a right way. I'm getting highly sceptical of our new ownerships, but in this case if "american bad", it's only due to his willingness to overpay for unimpressive players, making it more difficult for us in the long run.
  5. I for one would say Tuchel MADE Rüdiger playing at a high enough level - he wasn't so good under Sarri or Lamps and that would be another of my arguments against Potter 🙃 I don't really buy "bad players" argument for one practical reason - it won't change. We have no clear vision of player X, Y and Z coming this winter and off we go. Every transfer we'll make will be sort of gamble and Potter has to work with what he has, otherwise we will die waiting for a proper roster for him to be able to do his job, whatever this job will be. Manager has to work with what he have, otherwise what's the point of having manager at all or appointing one who for some reason can't do anything with personnel we have. To say a Premier League manager can't do shit about defense having Kalidou freaking Koulibaly in the team sounds ridiculous at least. Sarri did with washed-out Garry Cahill and not complain.
  6. Wonder what would Benfica gain from "decision not to sell" - he is hot after WC, it's risky to think he will be worth 200 million in summer. Much more probable it will be more like 80. No other offers to fulfill the clause of what we know, so what's the plan here? Last window TB shown nothing but desperation and they know it, so maybe no harm in pulling off for a week.
  7. Just a remainder that we are having a Sporting Director in place, who seems to be no fool and surely he has some say in transfer business now. If he'd rate Enzo enough to pay 130 mil and not complain, TB would pay and not complain, I guess
  8. + Mudryk, lol, respect to this guy, but the subtle change in calibre of players we are linked with to Arsenal-Tottenham targets levels suggest, that under new regime we are really dynamically building a new identity. Sort of mid-table one, but still.
  9. I for one wouldn't be so harsh on TB lowballing offer on unproven wonderkid in-the-making, when he isn't worth the clause and some people think he will hit ground running tomorrow and magically transform us into Real Madrid, because he did good in WC. People outside this board seem more cold-headed and see him as a prospect + he ain't no Touchniemi, there is no Real and City in the door, willing to pay 130 millions for him, so they may have a reason for it, since they seem bit smarter in transfers than we are…
  10. That's a bit of a stretch, eh? He is being portrayed by his backers as the face behind Leicester-like story, while Brighton did decent, but not spectacular by any means. I guess "the venom" comes from fact that he is not Chelsea level for one and he is neither one of our own nor some exciting and honoured tactical philosopher, so there is no real reason to stand behind him except for TB had hired him. Plus, so far he has ZERO input on the team and like 4 points from 8 games. No sign of roster rotation, no sign of tactical idea or Mourinho-like mentality change we crave so much. Actually, he seems to be the opposite of what Mourinho tried to impose here. He doesn't seem to be one of a kind in any way as the other Guy say and Chelsea is no place for mediocrity. He'd do as caretaker manager, but plan for him is all but this.
  11. Didn't take long and this picture isn't that funny anymore, eh? Except he was their manager for week, not years, lol It's a trend to bash the players, I know, but since our previous win over City, wich happened to be CL final, we miss only Rudi, Werner and having an actual Manager, so what makes you think the same group of players suddenly can't face City anymore?
  12. Don't know what to think about fact, that apparently Chelsea is running life-or-death bidding battle with Chelsea itself for Enzo. No other club seem to be actually interested in him, what is worrying in the first place, we are offering way over release clause and still can't get it done? Plus, if paying the clause is not possible due to FFP, does it mean we are not getting anyone else for a long time then?
  13. Being picky, but I have to say it's quite amazing for me why Potter is getting so much slack here - so far, all our previous managers - Sarri, Lampard, Tuchel had to (and did so) implement their tactics and philosophy from the very first game, with same or worse group of players. I know they took over between seasons, but c'mon - they did turn things around from first game and now we are suddenly giving Potter 10, 15 or 30 games to sit and look around? All 7 or 8 previous games is playing what was left by Tuchel, tactic-wise and personnel-wise, except we lack the crosses into box now, so only way to score now is penalties or some weird accident. If the club had appointed manager, who has no freaking idea what to do with the team mid-season, then it's even more ridiculous, than appointing someone of Potter's format at all in the first place. And seriously, we love to criticize our players here, but Jorgi, Pulisic, Havertz and so on are not some skill-less idiots. With Tuchel there was a problem of finishing and being clinical, now we suddenly have problem of playing football better, than worst team in league. 90% of world's managers would give up their leg for most of our squad, it's a matter of manager to know how to play for their's strengths and how to make this bunch an actual team. Yes, we need to shop around for better players, but we need them to excel in PL and CL, not to prevent dropping to Championship for god's sake. If poor Potter cannot implement his great ideas with players Chelsea have, than maybe it's time for him to sod off, maybe some Norwegian league will provide him with players adequate to his tactical vision.
  14. e x c i t i n g p r o s p e c t, perhaps😶 This may be as well media producing some pointless bs, like in 90% of cases, but if it's not - well, I thought and understood why was TB's first window all over the place, but our transfer business doesn't seem any less frantic now. In conjunction with board being overly trigger-happy with overpriced transfers, it is worrying.
  15. Where this is even going, Brighton played "good football" and finished 16th (lol), how is it supposed to reassure Chelsea fans Potter is the man for the job? When Sarri was at helm, we've had 99% possesion and million passes (mostly vertical!) done, yet people would not stop bashing him for lack of end result. I think, after all, points and silverware are more satisfying than xG and this whole "style" debacle is useless - let's start winning and most people will stop whining about backpasses at once.
  16. Maybe wait for them actually coming here first, just saying 😅
  17. So, Enzo would be the most expensive PL transfer to date, in front of Grealish and Lakaka. I'd love to see us on top of other tables instead this one honestly.
  18. His play is straight horrendous atm, no doubt, but calling Koulibaly skill-less donkey is rather bold move after all 😅
  19. The only thing Potter has in common with Arteta is his team struggling, yet people are using Arsenal to excuse Potter appointment. Completely different circumstances and completely different man.
  20. Yeah, I wish all of us for it to be true 😀 Still, it's mind boggling what is happening to economy - two years ago we heard it's an end of big ticket transfers and now 100 million doesn't seem much of psychological bareer anymore.
  21. Hell, 130 milion for someone not being Mbappe is steep. Suddenly ridiculous money they wanted for Rice aren't that much ridiculous, eh?
  22. This is perfectly the reason we should have clinged to Tuchel for dear life. And everybody said that. And fun thing is fans of opposite teams are all in for Potter just as we were all in for Ole, because that meant utd will not be a threat for us, so that's telling.
  23. Wasn't it the beginning of TT demise when reportedly Marina got Lukaku (as club failed at bringing anyone reasonable) that TT didn't really fancy yet was mysteriously obligated to include him in every game?
  24. Why people are so negative? Expecting nothing less than a showtime from our managerial mastermind. Lampard beat them, TT did a few times with perhaps worse players, so it's possible, isn't it?
  25. Liked the analysis, but it's burdened with the same issue as with most of those players - he indeed has talent and good traits, but while it's easy to admire player's vision and skill when he has all the space in the world and opposition defense is looking like slowmo movie, good luck with pulling this stuff off in England. I wouldn't have this much courage to think he would solve all our problems overnight, but still would like to see him here, however I can already see the backlash, given how people reacted to Mount not doing best.
