  1. At least heads of people who thought that putting up all-attack lineup is a tactical mastermind move to solve our problems will get a little chilled. Cucu is liability, pointless backpasses in our PK is playing with fire we are getting burnt with for 500th time.
  2. Having some kind of creative midfield is a really useful thing, it turns out!
  3. I was afraid Felix's non-PL style of skill will be a problem, but it only does good for us so far.
  4. Just balancing the fortunately diminishing group of Potterheads, Mate 😉
  5. No cigar, but we need to work before WHU will wake up Never did he have such a lineup, but I don't even mean offesiveness. Eg. Felix and BB are something that was much needed here. For now Puli and Zyiech are in position to be forgotten actually.
  6. It's an highly optimistic statement, but this squad could have potential to be lethal under more Tuchel-esque manager. Deffo a breath of fresh air from some new incomings.
  7. Yeah, let's get out there and do what we have to do: Lose and say goodbye to GP.
  8. KK could be nice leverage of many deals, but I doubt he has easy way back to Italy - he was Napoli leader and fan, yet oftentimes he was met with hostility and racism from their own fans. He wouldn't have it easy if he'd now go to other club I guess. Anyway, it's hard for me to believe he is "not good enough". There is clearly something very wrong going on with him. Maybe he doesn't like the team, the manager or England or can't deal with the tempo, but he is rather closer to top of the best defenders list, not bottom, even though he is having a shocking stint here.
  9. Good lord, playing in games officiated by United fans is one thing, but having United fan as an owner would be the whole new level of Chelsea thing.
  10. Rattclife officially making moves to buy Utd - we might have dodged the bullet here, as if he doesn't care what club he buys, it may mean he just want's a rich man toy
  11. We can always feed either Napoli or United with fresh, barely used Lukaku, so never say never… 👀
  12. There is also some kind of dignity in play - hence Guardiola is openly cuting off his ties with owner's shady moves. If he bails out now (he said he is leaving "the next day" if he is being lied to) I could theoretically see him taking us over in the summer, but also think it would rather be Real or PSG. BTW Fun times. We have trouble to point potential replacement for Potter now and in the summer, it could be us, Pool, City, PSG and Real looking for a manager at once, huh
  13. Nah, seriously. Claiming that rookie (although with completely different background, different circumstances and different vision for the club) manager getting to results after years of suffering means Potter will do go here is about as much of purely anecdotical guess as it gets (And if I was to believe the contents of this board, Arsenal is leading about as much due to their performance as all the top clubs performing terribly, so is that a proof of the "good football" philosophy as well?) There is equal chance GP would either do the same thing as Artreta (that is hardly Chelsea endgame imo) or he would not. It proofs absolutely nothing and is based on nothing, except anecdotical stretch. One has to be incredibly optimistic to think, that repeating veeeeryyy roughly similar process of club A in club B will yield similar results. There is an actual work to be done that makes a difference. Going by this logic, we could also say that every Porto manager coming here will have a great degree of success or Pep being goat means we need to get someone from Spain, because hey, Pep is goat so every Spanish manager eventually will be as well. This is straightforward tik-tok science video level of argument 🤪
  14. Yeah, that surely could happen. In the world, where money and politics doesn't exist.
  15. Holy fuck, the arguments Potter's fans are bringing up to defend him are actually the best way to show how bad he is. A lot of people seem to be unable to make a distinction between lack of performance and lack of ability. Yeah, managers deserve time, given they are proven talents, just not performing. GP on the other hand is evidently out of his depth in this situation and calling to give him (even more! Every other manger would have been sacked a long time ago) time to actually freaking learn the trade is utter stupidity or delusion. And what the hell is up with people rubbing the "days of replacing managers are over" into faces of people who dare to notice GP is not Chelsea level? What's in it for the club? What is the reason to take pride in sticking to ridiculously sub-par manager? Were there also people borderline wanking because we sticked with Drinkwater for 5 years and not shifting players like some crazy club? And don't get me started with Arsenal argument. How the hell is it related to our particular situation? I wasn't the fan of sacking managers where we were underperforming for three weeks, but what is happening now is just a disgrace. However I can understand TB reluctance to admit to mistake and given only viable option is to appoint U23 manager as a caretaker as no interesting replacement is available at the moment, he could as well chose to ignore Potter's matter for now, as it makes no difference if he stays or goes. There's still like 1% chance GP will have some epiphany in the meantime. I read today Ancelotti is questioned, so by the end of season, there may be some options to chose from.
  16. I guess any kit sponsor will have some kind of ownership or business relation with Clearlake, doubt TB will look for one on Craigslist. Plus, what would be the point of having blue home kit and dark blue away kit? Would make no sense in camera.
  17. I Respect the opinion. Missed Chilwell indeed. As for others, people should decide if they want those players out or we cannot function without them as one contradicts other a bit. Kante is a key player imo, but people were bashing him endlessly and wanted out before he got injured. Fofana is rotation for now, Zakaria did good for whole two games he had chance to play, Mendy was benched anyway, Broja hardly a starter, rest is on transfer list. I wouldn't say lack of RLC, Broja or Puli is something that instantly puts us in 10th place really.
  18. I'd say yes and no. If they are not solving our problems now, they won't solve them in 6 months time as well. There is a lot of talk about "future" and "next season", but there is no sign of anything actually starting to develop towards the "future". We have to start to produce something now. I don't know what people are thinking. Potter really had it more comfortable, than anyone in PL so far. What's gonna happen "next season"? He is going to finally read "managing top club for dummies"? Develop some mentality in himself? We will throw another 600 million into new players? Or this whole fuss was only to prove we are solely hanging on James individual effort? The "injuries" talk is also half-bs. Except James, the injuries are Kante, who may not be here next season, Zakaria, who may not be here next season and Mendy, Fofana, Pulisic and Broja, who are not making the starting 11 anyway as things stand now. So the "injuries" excuse for Potter pretty much comes to James being out.
  19. We actually seem to be an avant-garde inspiration for rule-making as the limit of loaned players also seem to be targeted mainly towards Chelsea. Now they will have to change the FFP evaluation periods I guess, as there is a freedom of contracts in most of the world, so no way to ban an 8-year deals here. The FFP changes should also have some transition periods, so there's still some time left to use this tactic.
  20. Only tabloids will say we are "cheating" - it's just business risk no other club is willing to take. People seem to forget that the price of longer amortisation period is risk of getting stuck with 20 unsellable Drinkwaters on big fat checks for nearly a decade. Actually, if things would turn this way, it could easily sink the club.
  21. Unless TB and co are super discreet, It seems that Potter is good at reciting the "vision and collective" spiel to them, so they may be gassed anyway. Boehly made some bold claims with this appointment and it's sorta kinda his reputation and credibility of "the process" at stake here, what make things way more difficult to navigate.
  22. Fair play to them, good to see some other champion than Pool or City. Competitors suffered, they stepped up, that's the beauty of the sport and after years of being comedy of club they will surely enjoy it. Yet the season is not over yet. I'd me more concerned with what we are (not) doing, than being upset with how others play tbh
  23. I'm not trying to hide I'm #potterout since before he was even officially appointed, but I wonder where is the more unbiased deadline by which board and his twitter fanboys are expecting to see some kind of improvement and/or at least a demo of what he is trying to implement here. We had two weeks in Cobham before Fulham - nada. Now another week. What will we see? If we perform as usual, will people still resort to moaning Mount is shadow of himself under Lampard (no bells are ringing?) and James is out so he cannot win the games solo and that's the root cause of our poor form? Or it will cause some most die-hard process trusters to notice we have no manager and top PL is not sunday league or national teams where players will do without one? He had more time than any PL manager can beg for and 16(!) new players, so it's time to cut the bullshit excuses. Even our injured team is not worse, than Brighton. If this game is not the time to cut the bs and verify what the truth is, then I don't know when the time is.
  24. I'm not sure. I know the only argument left for Potter's fans is blaming players, but it's not like we had clinical finishing, creative midfield and tight defense under Sarri, Lampard or Tuchel - what the video shows is nothing new for Chelsea. And even if I was to dive into this rhetorics - if players are not delivering, bench them or develop them, that's manager's job for god's sake, we have 16 new players. Edit: Actually, reading the comments under vid, another argument left is "but Arsenal" - yeah, somehow manager, who was the assistant of elite coach and not some rando bottom-table dude, came clean for half of season after years suffering, when it wasn't actually the manager to blame entirely, is the top-logic, 100% proof that GP is man for the job. People are either dumb or getting desperate in trying not to see the true state of affairs.
