To be fair, we do show a lot of cojones after a loss. I am expecting the same. A win would definitely make it a 3 horse race for 2 spots (may be 3 if city's ban holds). Let's just hope for Bournemouth to pull off a miracle. They need 3 points today to have a chance to stay up. Let's hope they pull one up on Leicester.

We play Norwich next week, while they go to Burnley who themselves are in Europa challenge. We can/might be 7/8 points clear of them with just 2 games to go

This. As well as trying to go for world class talents as we can save all the dough. These are our youth players and the corresponding squad player we have had to buy in the past. And this is considering they don't progress to a better level and what they are supposed to be. Just maintain their current standard. Reece --- zappacosta (20m euros) Tomori --- some other 20m euro player Rlc -- bakayoko (30m euros) Gilmour -- Drinkwater (30m euros) Mount -- Barkley (20m eurors) Tammy -- michy (30m euros) CHO -- pedro (20m euros) This is still 170m euros saved by the club which we can use to buy big names for the first team and reach the next level.

I understand. It's going to be a tough 2 weeks. We need to really pull up our socks for the last 4 (maybe 5) games of the season. But it's not impossible or even improbable. Also, have to keep some perspective. If someone had told you at the end of last season, exactly an year ago, that despite losing Eden, and not signing a single one, Chelsea will very much be in the hunt for top 4 maybe even 3rd, while integrating the likes of Tammy, Reece, mount, tomori, Gilmour to the squad, you would have put them in an asylum. Honestly feel that today we are able to go all out for big money first team signings in werner, ziyech, kai etc because we can save all that stupid money that we spent on "squad players" like bakayoko, Drinkwater, zappacosta, baba Rahman etc etc. So even without top 4 (I still strongly believe that we will get top 4), I still think that this will be a successful season. We already have 4 new signings. Yes 4!!! Werner, ziyech, CHo, and RlC both of the latter 2 who barely played a part and would be like 2 new signings. Along with whoever we sign more. I am sure FL and the board are aware of the issues and I feel some of the steps have been in the right direction (freezing jorginho out and leaving him to dry). Unfortunately injuries screwed us up. I can't see just the doom and gloom like most of this forum because I honestly see so many positives from this season. Obviously there are some glaring issues too, but it's a start. Rome was not built in a day. Pep in his first season with a massive transfer budget barely got top 4. Klopp was poor in his first half season. Hence I keep telling people to have perspective

On rashford, 16/17 - 5 goals, 32 appearances, 17/18 - 7 goals, 35 appearances 18/19 - 10 goals, 33 appearances. At times he looked a better version of Welbeck. But I think again, it's the recency bias. Regarding, Tammy, I watched him last season with villa or with Swansea. No way do his current performances match to what his real play and potential is. There is something very weird going on with him, but anyone who has watched him for the past 3 seasons, would watch that he is a much better player than the way he has been performing recently. And the same can be said for Reece too. He has been dreadful, but no way just it tell us about how well he played at villa or his true potential. I mean this was the same player that kept Zaha in his pocket. Anyways, no matter which side you lean on (they are crap who got lucky, or they are good who are playing very poorly), we can't be a 100% sure. Hence my argument of patience. These are young players touted to have great futures by multiple pundits, coaches and our own manager and legend. So the least we can do is not judge them by a 10 game window. In a season where we lost the best PL player and we're unable to replace him, where the fanbase was pretty convinced that top 4 was not even a reality. So all we need is a little perspective. Rewind a year and see how bad things were to where we are now. We are punching above our weight with the squad and specially the injuries.
-
I totally accept that his performances have been poor. But let's not say that's been the case all season long. Against liverpool (super Cup) and United (4-0 first gw) losses, his overall play was quite good rather than his finishing. A lot of it has to do with confidence, and something which he will have to and he will learn with time. It still does not mean we sell/loan him. If that is the case then we need to sell the following list of players from the squad: Kepa Reece Ac Zouma Rudiger Alonso Emerson Jorginho Barkley Tammy Pedro Willian. I even read someone say that we need to sell kante (🤷) Either we actually need to sell off more than half of our first team squad, or the fans are way off the mark. United were supposed to be so far off the mark. Yet one good signing has made even raahford look world class. That is what the signings are for. Increase the level of everyone around them. Unfortunately in modern football, you are only as good as your last performance. Hence the whole squad is shit. While just 2 weeks ago when we beat city, we were going to fight for the title. It's not surprising to be honest. But just frustrating reading such posts and comments.

Almost every striker goes through a dip. Tammy's season can be divided in 3 parts - the excellent start, the good middle, the current fiasco. While Tammy was poor yesterday, whose performance was even "good". What did pulisic do of note? He looked gassed from the 1st minute. Hence our re-inforcements in terms of werner, ziyech and hopefully kai. Tammy also lacked any service of note yesterday, infact our whole forward line did. We could not get the ball to them, and a lot of it stemmed from poor and slow passing out of the back from our defence and so called regista. Yesterday was a system failure, a team failure. As a team we were second to sheffield in spirit, second to them in tactics. To pin it all down on a striker and call him names (not you but a lot of people are), and moreover expecting to be sold, seriously? Which team other than city has a world class 2nd striker? It's a league where the likes of pepe and lacazzete have looked ordinary for most of the season, yet we want our 22 year old striker to be loaned/sold? And for whom? Another batshuayi? Another kalou? Or Morata? Falcao? Pato? Demba ba? Remy? I mean the fanbase is so fickle, it's unbelievable. I think Tammy is a good striker and an able no.2. He has a lot to learn and improve. Anyways we look at it, it's been a good season for him. As for top 4 and the gloom and doom, I think there's a lot of hope left. Who would have thought that we would beat city? Infact it's been the likes of Sheffield who have been our Achilles heel rather than Liverpool or city or arsenal or spurs. Leicester have a tough 4 fixtures left. Let's keep the faith and cheer our boys.
-
Leicester face Sheffield, spurs, United in 3 of the 4 games with Bournemouth being the 4th (battling for their life). If they get 6 points from these 4 games, I will be surprised

Just because he earns more than you and me, does not mean he should not try and get the best deal for himself. Get off your high horse and think about what you are saying. People like us switch jobs for a 20% raise, and no matter how good a company is, it is money that defines our decisions. What has CHO done to earn 120kpw this season? Emerson to earn his wages? Kepa? Michy? Obviously he has a right to demand atleast what these guys are earning if not more.
-
So he should not be trying to earn a living? What is wrong with people on here. Footballers have a 15-20 year career with only about 10 of them at the highest level. I mean come on, and give it a thought at least. Just because he is demanding big bucks, means he does not love the club? Poor performance, still does not change the fact that this was a great first season for him. He can be a very good 2nd striker. Look at who Liverpool have as their second striker, ORIGI. Obviously a 22 year old will have some faults, but to rule him out after he has scored 16 goals in his first season has got to be the most ignorant thing I have read. And "fans" asking for such a thing, seriously need some perspective
-
Kepa Azpi AC zouma Alonso Rlc kovacic mount Pedro Giroud CHO They are so bad that we could easily win even with this team. Need to rest willian, Puli. Against Sheffield hardly remember Puli being involved. We need the 2 of them to be up and running for the last 3 games. Jorginho should not be taking the pitch for is in PL game. He is just that shit.
-
Sorry mate. But it's a case of you don't know what you got, till it's gone. Jorginho is shit. Absolute shit. He is literally hunted down by opponents. Easily one of the weakest links. Moreover slows our attacks down more than giving it an impetus ans defensively it just makes us imbecilic. I think Lampard has been totally and completely vindicated. Jorginho should be no where near our starting 11.
-
Damn it. He needs to stay. We need to offload emerson 🤭
-
3? The only one I can think is LB. No idea what position would be the other 2 signings
-
I can't understand the hate that a 22 year old youth player who has scored 16 goals and 6 assists in his first season with us, is getting on here. I mean, have I missed something or are fans on here just so negative. If I told you that a Chelsea youth striker scored 14 PL goals in 30 games, the last season, you would have thought I was joking. But now, people don't have to be given a new contract or want him sold or some other shit. Youth playeds need to be nurtured. They don't become world class overnight. Each of Tammy, mount, Reece, tomori have had their dip at one or anothef point of this season. It does not take away from the fact that they will be big part of the club's future. So stop complaining and spreading negativity and get behind the players for duck's sake
-
Are you serious or was this sarcasm?
-
True. Cause that's what timo and ziyech are, right?
-
6 players to be sold to fund kai - emerson, michy, Alonso, baka, kenedy, drinkwater
-
Well your logic is "I am right". Thats not logic, that arrogance miss. I am going "billy big bollocks", it is you who is talking right out of your ass. You seem to be on here for sometime, I am sure you know a few people/posters. Do tag them and ask their honest opinion if they think this is a penalty and a "clear handball". I will be waiting
-
LOLOL. I am just happy I have not found most posters on here like you. That would have been quite sad. Way sadder than you trying to save face here. Also accepting a mistake is a sign of character. Trying to stubbornly stick to your opinion when you cant even logically explain it, is not.
-
Are you tking the piss. Look at his hand position. You can back down or not is upto you. The VAR has deemed it so. Multiple refs have looked at it and deemed not a foul or a pen. Ask any one on here if they think this is a PEN and a "clear handball". Seriously stop taking the piss mate. You are showing proof of literally the reason why it should not be a handball and trying to play it off as if you are the one in right. Or rather lets look at the evidence: 1. Arm by his side - YES 2. HIT on his hand - NO. SHoulder or at best "upper arm" 3. Movement towards the ball - NO. The ball was shot at him. 4. Any other indication of foul play/intent to "handle the ball" - HELL NO. So with what logic are you being stubborn and calling me wrong? There is literally no case for a handball here. Even the madridastas are not fighting for it. LOL
-
Why would he got out of the way when the ball is coming right at him. Look at this hand positioning, by his side. There was literally 0 case for it to be giving as a penalty. And calling it a clear handball is just weird imo unless you are a Madrid fan (are you? 😂) Around 9:38. Like I said, hand right by his side, with no extension. Ball hit right at him, with no arm movement towards the ball. And the ball hits more of his shoulder or if we are being very harsh then "upper arm". Literally 0 case for penalty and clear handball
-
Clear handball? Are you serious? It hit his upper arm or infact shoulder with his hand right by his hand. I mean football would be in danger if that is a "clear handball". And just to be clear, I don't like barca at all. Was just watching the game due to boredom.

He is a good player, but definitely not world class. Probably not even in the tier below world class (atleast in my opinion). He started as a ST. And its only this year that he has played as a proper LW otherwise, his position kept alternating between LW and ST. My point simply being 130kpw for Tammy is a fair exchange.
-
Rashford earns 200kpw. And has as many PL goals as Tammy
