Alonso would have buried that with his eyes closed.

Never been good.

I remember that horrific, shameful, embarrassing display against City in Conte's 2nd season when we went out petrified from the opening whistle. Whatever happens today, at least we are not scared of them now.
-
Losing to City wouldn't worry me. However, another loss would the 3rd in 4 games, which will be a concern at this stage of the season.
-
Wanted to add this, but no edit button my phone? Shame Tammy has been frozen out though. Not been great by any means but hardly any worse than Werner. Seems like his days at Chelsea are numbered under TT.
-
With all the games we still have to play, TT faces the difficult balancing act between trying to win every game and trying to keep players fresh by having to rest players as well. The league and CL are more important, so I'm happy enough with this line up.
-
Didn't see West Spam losing this one, so a very nice added bonus indeed!
-
We could challenge without a Kane or Haaland, if the following happens. We get Agueto and he stays fit. Werner improves to about a decent, average level. Tammy stays fit and chips in with a dozen or so. Puli stays fit and plays like we know he can. Kai starts to be more consistent. CHO improves on his end product. Yes, a number of ifs there, but all very possible.
-
I actually feel a bit sorry for Kane. Great to be loyal and all that, but there comes a time when he must accept time is running out for his chances of winning the major trophies and move on from that shower of shite. Its a disaster for them to not be top four after Liverpool being dire, us changing manager and having strikers who couldn't score in a brothel and Arsenal being as bad as ever. Fred Flintstone is finished as a top manager!

Thanks for that info on Lamprey. The transfer makes more sense after reading that. Think he might well be playing for a top 6 club in a couple of years.
-
Again, nobody is suggesting we sell James any time soon! Selling Lamprey for a laughable 3 million was criminal! Might as well have given him a free transfer. The only possible reason I can think of for why the club rated him so low, was maybe he's one of those odd players who aren't great trainers and need the match day atmosphere to show their best. As for KDB and Salah. I've read that they both wanted to leave due to lack of playing time, so we let them go.
-
The standard of German football is probably the lowest its been in my lifetime. Let's not forget that Werner was banging them in for fun but look at him now. As for the CL, that has an awful lot of rank teams in it too. Not saying he's crap, just not worth the money or close to it. Personally, i'd rather take Aguero for a couple of years while we search for a good, young striker at a decent price. Time our scouts (do we even have one?) earned their money and found a player or two instead of lazily going for just another expensive flavour of the month. There's still plenty of very good value for money players out there if you look long and hard enough, as the scouts for the likes of Leicester and Liverpool have shown.
-
Not worth anything like the money and wages being quoted for him and certainly not suited to the way we play. Having a hot streak in a pretty shit league. Move on and wait for a better value player.
-
No doubt Rudi ruffles feathers and is a hard, aggressive, giant pain in the arse at times. But who wants their teams CB's to have the character and personality of a Vicar? Take away Rudi's fire and negative character traits and he'd probably have been a bang average championship level player.
-
I just think Lamprey is better on the balll and has more agility than James. The only things James has over Lamptey is height and strength.
-
Btw. We should never have sold Lampety, who is a better player than James.
-
Nobody is talking about binning him completely. Just saying we need an upgrade as first choice RB for next season. At the moment, James is struggling to kick on and with the exception of Mount, so are our other Chelsea boys. I'm personally not in any hurry to see us sell any of them. At worst, they're already useful squad players and only time will tell if they can up their levels to be first choice players for a club which wants to win the league.
-
Call me stupid, but I think the Brighton game on Tuesday (will be a tough game to win) is more important, so I would bench the likes of Mendy, Rudi, Christensen, Puli, Kai and Kante.
-
Anyone who isn't very good at defending shouldn't really have any position in the defence, especially for teams looking to challenge for the big trophies. For me, one of his big problems is his physique. He looks more like a Rugby League player than a footballer. He's a bit too big and bulky which makes him a bit too slow in his reactions and movements and a bit one paced, which also makes h look a bit lazy at times.
-
When his head is right he's a top, top quality player
-
Four way race for 2 spots now.
-
Hope im wrong but i think the Spuds will win this, mainly because they need the points much more than Utd, who are looking happy enough to stroll along for a point.
-
Great result which brings Leicester back into the scramble for top four. Got as difficult a run in as ours too. Have to start taking West Ham as serious contenders now, especially with a far easier run in.
-
This! Give my MOM to Mount.Would have been Kai, had he put away a couple more of his chances. Puli was tops too. Only slight disappointment was CHO. Did quite well but again he lacked end product. Grim being a Palace fan putting up with this shit year after year.
-
I know it's only Palace but I think that's our best half this season.
