Only worry is Woy will turn him into a DMF.
-
That would be Rice. I think the idea is to use Silva as Rice/Amapdu's mentor as they transition from DMF to CB. I can see both staying and swapping around a little to see best fit.

Nah, Man City financialy are like Roman on Captain America serum. FFP has been relaxed and if they did get hot again, they would just get the best lawyers once again to find some loophole. City can afford whatever they want this Summer. Tbh, I am surprised they haven't been pulling something similar to what we are doing. Ad for Messi, I kind of hope he does end up at City. He will cost them £100m+ and then Barca can go get Martinez from Inter. That then gives Inter some dollar to hopefully buy a Emerson.

I do not read too much into today's game. James I thought was ok in the main though, that said I think this season will have James as RB2 with Dave as RB1 but that was to be expected. Further, I predict Mount to start quite a lot of games alongside Harvetz.
-
Mount will still get plenty of games. CHO will also owing to the nature of the AM position and the amount of games there will be next season. Tammy may have a bit if a job but I expect to see him at least 20 times next season. Tomori will be loaned/sold with a buyback. RLC is the one that should be worried. If Harvetz comes in, I have: Harvetz, Mount and Kova all playing ahead of him.

I wouldn't worry about the GK too much. It is clear the club are fixing the issues with the squad properly this year. GK is the one position where you can pretty much drop someone in straight away without any real issues. At worst, I would expect a Ben Foster who, when we take into consideration all the other signings, would be perfectly fine for a season. As for Rice, things appear to be moving Wet Spam forums are currently resigned to the issue. Apparently, they all feel that it is a foregone conclusion as they need about three or four players. Hopefully, we can get a deal done that involves one or two of our players.

They are different players. Robben was a pure winger/RWF. Harvetz is a footballer that can play a number of roles. The best comparison for Harvetz is players like Rooney and Ballack in that they could play anywhere in front of the defence and their performance levels did not dip. At the moment, he isn't perfect as he needs to do more work off the ball when the team are out of possession. In my opinion, he will end up being a No.8/No.10 in a 433/4231. Essentially he will take the place of Barkley/RLC.
-
Well it probably depends on contract situations and gentlemen agreements. Cech here could maybe pull us a few favours. He is still highly thought of at Le Arse.
-
Haha, I was only pulling your leg. However, all we need now is a Don King for the set.

Martinez is pretty much the best option for us. Cheap, knows the PL, will not be or want insane wages and if he doesn't work out we have a great GK2. Get this done. Yeah, but every GK bar the elite ones like Alisson and Oblak, are big risks as they do not know the league. As we have seen through losing TC and then moving to Kepa one of the most important things a GK has to do in the PL is dominate his 6 yard area and catch high balls. This is quite different to Ligue 1, Edevisie and La Liga. Serie A and the Bundesliga are the only ones that really compare. So, for me, when it comes to a GK, we either need to go big i.e. Oblak, or go small i.e. Martinez/Foster as all the mid-priced GK's run into serious risks. Sure, some of them would be fine but one or two would likely not adapt. My personal fav is the Lille GK, but if it is £30-£40m for him or £8-£10m for Martinez or Foster on a free I am going for one of the PL based GK's as we cannot afford even another mid-priced mistake. Martinez if he was had for £10m, carries no disaster risk as his fee and wages would make him a slightly expensive GK2 if he isn't cut out for a No.1 spot. A another thing to consider is that we are lumbered with Kepa if he has to stay the GK budget is likely to be tight. Yeah, lets be honest here. Most people on here have probably seen more of Martinez than they have of any of the French based GK's. Onana may they have seen more of owing to CL. Either way, I am with you on this. Everything Martinez showed since taking over at Le Arse from Leno showed excellent to very good levels of GK work. Sure, he isn't perfect but if he really is £10m he has to be the no brainer option. (Unless that is one of the French based GK's are absolutely 100% world class and will be able to handle the PL. I do not know the answer to this as all I have seen are youtube clips, stats and a couple of Lille games which are nowhere near enough to make a definitive conclusion.) Onana I am not really sold on owing to his parrying into danger too often.

I see what you have done with your username 😉
-
Yeah, but at the very least they surely need to be looking at someone like Foster to be GK2? Willy really should be GK3 so he is needed even if we keep Kepa and roll the dice.

The problem with our CM is twofold. First is the lack of goals and the second is the lack of robustness. A fit RLC, Kante and a hand from Amapdu could help with the robustness. However, I suspect SFL is looking for a CM that gets 12-20 goals a season like he, Gerrard, Ballack, Scholes etc used to do. If he wants that, then he has to get Harvetz.
-
Kante may get sold but if we buy a DMF it will be Rice.
-
Amapdu.

The problem with Zouma is not just his work on the ball, it is also his positioning. Take for instance his great tackle against Palace. That only had to come about owing to his position in the first place. To be honest, if it is Zouma that stays it doesn't really bother me as all four of the CB's played awful last season in one shape or form. I give Tomori the least criticism as he is the youngest and was in his first year, however, when it comes to Zouma v AC v Rudi it is a little bit of me predicting what the club will do. From my point of view AC still has the greatest scope to improve as his failings are easier to iron out. However, if he gets culled I wouldn't be that surprised. That is true, but last season Zouma was hardly superman at defending set pieces. Read my comment above.
-
Agree. For me, it is AC that benefits the most as his biggest problems are mental and physical (need to get him some of the Bayern serum.) Those problems however, are more fixable than not being able to handle possession under a high press and reading of the game. AC is totally in last chance saloon but with his current rep, losing him next season instead of this is going to have no minimal financial difference. If Zouma has another season like last he will be worth half the price.

Yep, but it is Dipper logic, so you cannot expect anything but nonsense. Set to spend a fortune? Haven't we already spent a fortune? Indeed. This is pretty much Dipper fans right now:
-
Yeah, I have nothing against the players themselves, except for when they start banging on about how great and 'down to earth' their fan base is. Klopp for instance is particularly bad at this. However, their fans and the club in general are horrible and the most self-deluded fans you could ever wish to meet. Honestly, Barca, Real and Bayern are arrogant as can be but the Dipper's are on a completely different level when it comes to lacking self-awareness and generally just being lowlifes. I mean, just a couple of weeks ago when they won the league they broke the social distancing rules as trashed their own city firing fireworks at buildings and causing fires. But again, wasn't their fault, as they are the salt of the earth. Here is an example of them 'celebrating' amongst themselves after their title win: Oh, and lets also not forget how although they paint themselves as a great community club who fight for social rights, they were one of the first to put their low paid workers on furlough. Honestly, a lot of stuff that goes on with the Dipper's couldn't be made up as someone would say it is too ridiculous too be true.
-
Well its a Dipper, if they aren't being triggered they are normally doing something criminal. So, what do you expect?
-
When I see this, all I can think of is why the hell did so many footballers go to Greece and get so close to so many people. Then why the hell does Puli look so old. Seriously, if he was African people would be asking for a birth certificate.
-
Because Timmy earns £110k a week and is crap.
-
Yeah but the problem is the Dipper fan base and the club in general. Here is a list of things they have done: Murdered 39 Juventus fans. Never took responsibility (initially they said it wasn't their fans and tried to infer that it was the Chelsea Headhunter's - their Chairman/board member kept on saying that their was 'cockney voices on the terraces'.) Then when that didn't wash, they blamed UEFA for holding the game at a ground that wasn't suitable. Fall out from this was a 6 year ban for all English clubs (why didn't they just give the Dipper's a 20 year ban or lifetime ban?). Then you have Hillsborough. This one was a bit more complicated as the Police did f*ck up. However, the fact of the matter is that thousands of Dipper's without tickets rushed the gates. Then you have the t-shirts in support of someone banned for racism. In the Athens final in 2007, after spending 27 years crying about Hillsborough, their fans tried to pull the same trick of turning up without tickets and rushing the gates. UEFA called them the worst fans in Europe, the media and Dipper's went into meltdown over the accusation and blamed UEFA for holding a high profile football game at a Olympic Stadium without proper turnstiles. On Twitter they go crazy when anyone calls them murderers or Dipper's. Saying that such comments are hurtful/hateful. Then at club sanctioned events their fans sing songs celebrating the Munich tragedy. When visiting teams turn up at their ground they throw bricks and flairs at it. This is all before when get to the media love in and the self aggrandising they do all the time.
