  1. Dave won't be going anywhere until we have a minimum of two of the following: 2 CB's 1 RWB
  2. Brokealona finding out that IOU's don't work in the real world. Who would've thought?
  3. I do actually agree. I have said elsewhere that WB is a major concern, however I think it is also optimistic to find people of adequate quality who are going to be happy to play as a back-up. RWB does have a bit if scope however, as I would personally move James to RCB as I think he would be better there than RWB. However, I am still pretty high on Livra and hope he comes back from his ACL ok. If he does, I am more than happy to wait for him rather than take a risk on someone with only Champo experience. Additionally, some of the AM's can cover RWB in the mean time. This is obviously not perfect but I rather we get the right players when we can, rather than jump the gun. LWB is more of an issue, I am not sure Cornet for instance will come as he'll have a lot of takers in the league from Tier 2 -3 and he would still be able to play further forward. This position however does need to be addressed in the market, it is more that I don't see a viable option. Tbh, my post was more about signing 4 players (GK2 is not really a major purchase) as six seems a little unlikely atm and by integrating the youth boys' it plays into the Dodgers strategy. That said, I think Gallagher gets quite a lot of minutes in a 343. I personally think he'll take a fair share of Kante's load.
  4. What would people make of this squad after the Summer window: GK: Mendy, Kepa/GK2, Bettinelli CB: MDL, Silva, Ake, Trev, Colwill WB: James, D.Sterling, Chilwell, Emerson/Maatsen CM: Kova, Kante, FDJ, Gallagher AM: Sterling, Mount, Werner, Puli, CHO CF: Havertz, Broja Personally, I am not a fan of Ake but can see him as a obtainable player.
  5. No I cannot see it as it states we already have the substitute and there are no links with Emerson moving.
  6. Varane hasn't been above average for at least three seasons now. He is a player still living off the hype he got as a young player.
  7. Juve are also going to need at least one CB if MDL leaves. For me, this is one of the key reasons this deal is taking a while. Juve thought they would get him to stay up until three weeks ago. Once Juve get a replacement, I can see this one moving. Bayern are an issue if they want him but I can see us out bidding and I am not sure he is as in love with Bayern as most people make out. In fact, every Dutch person I have met have hated German's more than most English people.
  8. Sterling - This is probably just ironing out the wages/bonuses. Sterling knows he can wait a year then go on a free and essentially pick up a large proportion of his market value as a signing on fee. He is also a high earner and we know we have difficulty within the squad with wages as those on lower wages aren't happy that some underperforming players are on more. This issue cost us Rudiger and we have James and Mason that need renewing asap. We need to get that package right which isn't probably what Sterling wants. That deal may be easy from a club to club agreement but I wouldn't say it is from the wages and squad dynamics perspective. Kounde - Appears to me he was a target for the previous board and he has now dropped down the pecking order. Additionally Seville are right 🔔's so making them wait until later in the window (I think they probably need to sell him) is a more logical thing to do as there isn't anyone else out there that can afford him who want him. Additionally, MDL is looking like the principal priority right now, so focus is on him.
  9. Barca going cut price over €4m yet people think they'll buy Raphinha for €70m 😂. I get Raphinha may want Barca but there is no way Brokealona get it over the line.
  10. I think the problem is CM is down the list of priorities. We currently need 2 x CB and at least 1 x AM before we need to look at CM and I would argue that we need back-ups at WB also before a CM is needed. That said, FDJ is a premium player so if there is a chance, you've got to take it as it is rare to get an opportunity on someone of his quality at his age.
  11. Yeah, the Ajax mates stuff is BS. I mean they have also been German tweets saying he is a Bayern fan. It is all hype that far too many believe. I saw Cornet last season and he looked decent every time I saw him. Far too good for Burnley. I would be interested in him as a back up role player for a WB role. Wasn't the Maatsen story that he has more put it on hold as TT said he wanted a closer look?
  12. Apprantly Everton want him on loan to replace Richardilson as they're fu*cked financially. If there isn't a role for him this season, I trust SFL to look after him properly.
  13. In IOU's. As Lloyd says in Dumb and Dumber, that's as good as money.
  14. When people used to tell me that Social Media was at fault for causing political changes/influencing people, I was always highly skeptical as I have always held a high opinion of people and thought that they wouldn't be moronic enough to believe such nonsense and could see through the clickbait which is done to fuel the authors/sites income and that such posts where mostly nonsense and agenda driven. This thread is seriously opening my eyes to my naivety.
  15. MDL because, if you believe everything you read, he prefers Bayern to Chelsea?
  16. If we sign CR7, I am instantly going to think of TB like this:
  17. Lewa to Barca and CR7 to Bayern on loan seems the most logical solution. Bayern win again; no comment to a player on loan who also takes a paycut, whilst they also cash in €30m for a CF in his mid-30's who they've had the best years out of that they got on a free. Next year, they buy the best CF on the market and send CR7 back.
  18. Wow, Barca have actually been able to pay their free transfer that they agreed months ago.
  19. Yeah, I am only down for a Neymar Jr transfer if his Neymar Sr promises me a pass to one of his transfer orgies he likes to throw when Jr gets transferred.
  20. Obviously would like a deal done soon just to get things moving but we also need to ensure that we get the right players. News that players like Maatsen will be given a look rather than just buying a 2nd tier LB/LWB is actually something I support. I mean, let's be real, such transfers please some people for about three games then said 2nd tier LWB/LB gets call a dreg, a deadwood player etc, by the same people screaming for transfers after those three games. In addition, I think some people need to be realistic about where we're at owing to the take over and the moving on of Granny. By the looks of it, we went back to square one some time after the take over. This means that we needed to decide who would take over the transfers, change our transfer targets and get agreement between the leading parties dealing with this on what they want/can do (TT and TB.) That isn't something done in one or two meetings. On top of this, people really need to remember that transfers don't get done in a couple of weeks, unless; a) someone is willing to pay over the odds (the buying club) b) a player is willing to take a hit C) a selling club needs to fire sell/raise money quickly. If not, you're looking at weeks/months as there are big tax/family/housing implications. I am really surprised how some people don't understand most Summer transfers get worked on for months or even a year (the top players) in advance. Thus, this Summer, people need to relax and stop having a near mental meltdown every time some ass-clown on Twitter posts something. I mean, seriously, why do people think clubs/players are going to talk to some prat with a mobile about highly confidential financial deals? It doesn't happen as those ass-clowns are just in the click bait/wind up game. From where I am standing, the change in direction this Summer has been a good thing and the club needs our support and patience. I mean, a move away from Kounde to MDL and the targeting of Sterling (if on reasonable fees/wages) are deals that are better than we/I thought we would get this year. For me, a Summer of: MDL, Sterling and maybe Raphinha along with getting rid of Lukaku is a positive. Of course it isn't prefect, WB is a major concern for me for instance, but with everything that has gone on just buying a few quality additions, getting our transfer strategy to a better position and giving some of the kids an opportunity rather than just flushing them away to buy second rate options is a good thing. Obviously, next Summer people will have more right to question things as everyone at the club would've had time. However, for now, lets get on with supporting the club, give the new guys our trust and save such comments such as 'pathetic' and 'monitoring fc' etc, until a time when such comments are deserved.
  21. Well if Azpi goes it will essentially be on a Giroud type deal, like £1m, owing to his service, so I doubt he would make much of a dent. Alonso, will get what? £5m-£8m? I can't see those two as being that helpful.
  22. €20-25m plus Emerson and RLC would be ok. If Lazio value SMS at €70m then that make RLC at least €30m and Emerson €15m. This all said, I cannot see the biggest home boy in our squad leaving London, let alone moving out of England/UK.
