Anyone thinking the walking forehead is a option, are probably the same people who thought/think Lukaku and PEA aren't bad options.
-
No it really isn't. People are forgetting that PEA was dire in his last year at Le Arsè, so bad that they terminated his contract. This type of transfer is exactly using the kind of logic that brought us Lukaku, Higuian etc. It is absolutely awful business. Does seem crazy, his uncle told me he doesn't have the makings of a varisity Athlete due to his small hands.
-
Well, you where also saying the same about Lukaku last year, that he was a striker we needed. So, not sure how that works.
-
This was the exact same logic that had us bring Lukaku and Higuian through the door.
-
Haven't they brought a number of new players to make themselves overall a bit better than relying on two players? Not seen Leeds apart from highlights, but what I have read has told me they have more of a functioning team this year. That said, we should be winning this one. Team Mendy James Silva K2 RLC Gallagher Jorgi Cucu Mount Kai Sterling
-
Yeah, but PEA is now 33 and his legs are going. Using past stats when he was still in his prime aren't a good measure. In addition to this, he is notoriously unpredictable as to what his attitude is going to be. Lastly, at Chelsea you need to be physically rugged as we don't get jack from the refs. All of the above means I am out on PEA even on a free with a one year contract, let alone for a reasonable fee and multi-year deal. The way I see us playing this year is by physically over powering teams like we did to Spuds who are one of the more rugged teams in the league as it is. For me, I still have faith in Kai. I actually thought he played really well in the Spuds game, miss aside. For me, we will still get top 4 regardless of having a full blown finisher. Additionally, I also feel that by buying Lukaku last year, we stunted Kai as it was so I don't think we need another poor fit CF to take his space up again.
-
Taylor is ranked as the second best ref in the country isn't he?
-
Gallagher isn't going anywhere. We only have two fit CM's or 3 with RLC.
-
In no shape or form should we be going anywhere near giving Barca £20m for PEA. Absolute lunacy if true.
-
Gordon will go into the front 3 imo. I think he is seen as a replacement for the Ziyech/Pulisic. As for the defensive roles outside of CCB I think TT plan is to have a very fluid system in which the RCB/RWB and LCB/LWB dovetail (I mentioned this when we signed Cucu; although I Limited my comments to LWB/LCB.) For me, I think we are going to operate a system where it is going to cause real problems for opposition teams as they won't really know who to track out wide as when one gets pinned/marked the other will then go around and offer the width. It is quite clever if he can pull this off and ensure we don't get left open on the counter. Additionally, in games where teams sit super deep on us, I can see us operating a virtual 244 formation. I am hoping RLC can really keep some consistency this season, because if he can perform like that every week, he gives us an extra creative player when playing against defensive low blocks.
-
Stats and eye test indeed show he is playing at a team whose level is way below his. I wanted a RWB earlier this year and completely forgot back him, but he is certainly someone I think can step up to the PL. The problem with him however is he is Rangers best player and RLC's performance at the weekend means he deserves a crack at it now. .

I tell you someone I am always impressed by when I watch him - especially in Europe - is James Tavernier. Not saying he is 1st choice RB quality but as a back up I would take him.

Rice isn't going to Man Utd, no chance unless he has no options. That kid, whenever he gets the chance, tells everyone he is a Chelsea fan/talks about us and has been in various interviews saying London (I think west) is his home and he sees no reason to leave. Rice for me is just a case of letting him run his contract down unless he gets told no chance by the board. Yeah, he does this thing all game, every game. I have been watching Everton a bit since SFL went there and his work rate is on the same sort of level as Mount. Tbh, I really struggle to see how people aren't getting these links. TT is clearly getting rid of the pussies like Werner, Ziyech and Puli who jump out of challenges/get overrun and is trying to build a hyper physical team that will run people off the pitch and dish it out. Gordon fits that so I can see exactly why he is being linked. The problem with him however is he is vastly overpriced due to him being Evertons best player and a young English prospect which means he has the English tax on him. Personally, I am hoping for a compromise where we send some players their way (Bats, Barkley, Emerson etc; maybe a Billy /Broja/Amapdu loan) which means it is not much cash but the paper values of those players get it up. All in all, I get why people don't want to spend £50m on him, but I don't get how they don't get how his profile is what we are looking for.
-
Gordon's fee is £20m for his actual ability as of now and £20m+ for his potential as a young player plus English tax. As @Costa19says, I am struggling to see how people can't see why we are after him. TT imo, is looking at our best teams (those from the 70's and 00's) and noting that both had high aggression, directness and intensity. Gordon does fit that mould, whereas Ziyech, Werner and Puli don't. As for the transfer itself, £50m seems too much as I am not certain he is that great. However, style wise I understand it.

I am normally a bit of a advocate for refs as I think they have a hard job. For instance that cnut Ob against Barca I think was just way in over his head and was thinking that he 'didn't want to be the story' by avoiding decisions. However, Taylor is a super cnut. Literally, his body of work is too widespread to not think he has an agenda. I get that this may be unconscious but unconscious or not, this fucking cnut does us every mother fucking game in a consistent manner that something really needs to be done about it. I know TT is going to get in shit but what he said was 100% spot on, this cnut cannot ref us again as he is either consciously or unconiously (I will still go with unconsciously) fucking us raw every time.

Probably should have labelled it Chilly/Cucu for LCB/LWB. I suspect when they're played together it will be slightly situational. Dead Balls for instance, I think Chilly will tuck in to the LCB role and in counters, I see them overlapping depending on how it develops.
-
My team Mendy K2 Silva Chilly James Gallagher Kante Cucu Mount Havertz Sterling Spurs look incredibly fit to me from the last game and we look undercooked. IMO, we need to go for our fittest players and players that aren't afraid of putting their foot in. Losing Kova is a big blow so I think we have to go with Gallagher over Jorgi as I can see Jorgi getting hassled and the Ref just letting Spuds gang bang him.
-
I am with @Superblue_1986 if AC is available we should take him back. I know it won't be popular and he has been a prat but the economics justify it for me.

Twitter is literally the a modern version of what ClubCall was in the 80's and 90's. 95% of everything written and said is total and utterly BS in order to get followers and clicks to obtain revenue of the individual in question and the other 5% is truth/half-truths to prevent people from realising they're lining the pockets of people that know only slightly more than the average Joe in the Street as it provides the clubs in question with a little more revenue/advertising. Nah, feck PEA he is both toxic and over the hill. If we are going down this route only CR7 is the one worth doing this for as he is still leagues ahead of PEA. PEA in 2022 is like Higuain circa 2017. Yep, he sure is. I am with you. People are getting the lube out and tossing themselves silly about a glamour signing but aren't seeing the big picture. Literally Barca are on the precipice of being totally fecked; I.e. not being able to register any of their Summer signings of near €200m (and then face legal suits from the clubs who won't be paid) and then have the banks run on them; Fitch for instance pulled their near junk BBB- rating from them recently, thus meaning they now have a de facto junk credit rating. In no shape or form should anyone be doing them a favour. Unless they sell out to a Oil Baron or get a bailout from the Spanish Govt they are facing liquidation. This Summer from them imo, has been one last crap shoot to pretend that everything is fine and that they're still a big enough brand to not be sucked into liquidation/have to have a mega fire sale and deal with a Leeds circa 2003 situation on steroids.
-
PEA, Depay and Zaha are worse/same level as Werner, CHO and Ziyech. If that is the solution to our attacking problems then I really don't know what the question is.
-
We lack match fitness. Will have trouble next week against Spuds if we are so lethagic again as they were at it all game today. Either way, I think we'll play our way into form this season. Additionally, I will take 3pts from Goodison regardless of performance everytime.
-
Why are people making out Dave is like Titus Bramble level?
-
Of course, big game. However, I have brought the lube this season for Everton away, just simply to save the chaffing.
-
I really do not get why people get so upset about 343 when their solution is to go 433 and with a DM.

I am at the stage where I just write this one off. If we get anything I add it as bonus points considering our record.
