Ronaldo was worth that money. Torres to other hand was a 30m striker sold for 50m.Thats a similar situation of Mourinho era, when We used to pay 24m for players that were worth no more than 15. Sheva was 30m, and he was at least 5 times better at Milan than Torres was at Liverpool.
-
He did not lied. He said we dont need strikers. Its very simple: If Lukaku comes he will go on loan.
-
This. Thats what Im trying to say to Madmax. I know he is smarter than this.
-
We did not signed him yet, We agreed terms with Barcelona, but Romeu is in Colombia, he still has personal terms to agree. We know very little about this agreement with Barcelona. Wait and see before you complain about it.
-
Thats the problem. All You know is the news that came from spanish press, and You are talking like you know everything about the deal We did not even signed him yet. So what you saying is pure speculation. For me its obvious that his contract is like Borjan's. Otherwise no club would buy a 19 year old player to give him back to his former club 2 years later whitouth even having the option to keep him with some more cash. What You saying is pure nosense, clubs like Chelsea dont get teenagers on loan,

This south american correspondent must be crazy or clueless. Piazon was one of best brazilians u-17 players. Juventus also wanted him, but he decided that english football was the best option for him. Im not saying he will be a great player, Im saying that its easy to understand why Chelsea got him. He knows something about football.

I hope this guy will put Mikel in his place.
-
How do You know he has a buy out clause? Its not like that. Chelsea dont have to sell him back. All we need to do is pay more. Just like Bojan deal with Roma.
-
Yes and no. If Batcelona decide to get him back, then they will pay 5m. If we decide to keep him, then We must pay some amount of money. Its going to be like Bojan deal. He left for 12m. Then If Barcelona want him, in two years they pay 13m, or Roma must pay 28m to keep him. Total= 40m. Based on Bojan numbers, that is 3 times most expensive than Romeu, then we must pay something around 10m to keep him. Total = 14m. For me its a good deal. If he dont become a huge succees, its not a problem. Only 4m. If he become a regular starting XI then he will only cost around 15m, wich is a good price for a good young DM. The only problem is that he might decide to go back to Batcelona after that.

What are you talking about. Aguero has nothing to do with Drogba.
-
As VB said: "Lukaku had a magnificent season in Belgium. We are pondering every decision because we don't want to go into the market and make mistakes. "We have plenty of availability in terms of forwards who can play in different positions - with Anelka, with Kalou, Didier, Torres and Sturridge. I'm sure that if he comes he will go on load. Honestly I dont think he will come.

double post.

lol The mods have sources that say something we dont know. Actually it was locked because it seems he is going to City, then someone got angry and closed the topic.
-
Fabregas was much more younger when he left, and Fabregas is not good enough to be a starting XI in Barcelona right now. Thats why in Spain NT he is on the bench all the time. So, no, Barcelona is not in Firesale because of Cesc.
-
Actually if Barcelona is selling it means he is not that good.

The pessimism is not about this 2 pre season games. The fact is that right now there is no one fucking single new player here. The board already said that 2 or 3 names will arrive, and I dont think thats enough. I mean, the only youngster that can really play a good football in next season is Sturridge. Josh is far from being a player ready to play big games. Malouda is still here, Bosingwa, Ferreira and Kalou. This is the worst part, because it means that the board still believe this guys can do something great. You said we will go to market at some point. What we are waiting for ? Roman has the fucking money, and our squad need some changes. The problem is: Boas arrived saying the team need only few changes. Do you think he really believes that? Probably the board said what they expect and what they think about the squad. In fact I believe we start the next season with the same old squad, and with Malouda still a starting XI.
-
yet I think its to early to discard a 50m striker.
-
Its not because they are missing many chances. Its because they dont have the chance score. Also great teams dont rely on strinkers. If the striker is in a bad day, then someone else scores.
-
It doesnt surprise me that the board thinks like that. Just see in this forum how we have some optimistic guys that keep saying we dont need an overhaul, and that Modric and Lukaku will be enough to make us world beaters.
-
For the guys that posted before: you dont even know if this guy is good or not. I really dont undertand you. You seems to only want "stars". Modric was nothing when Spurs get him. Now many of you are saying that he is the man to make Chelsea world beaters. 7m english pounds for me is a reasonable price. If he comes, so this buy must know one thing or two about football.
-
Where are the Neymar haters that said Lukaku was the better option because he was a Chelsea fan. Wake up guys. Lukaku is a professional. He has his own career to care about. He knows that Arsenal is by far the better option for him. Actually we dont need Lukaku. That would be a good move, but honestly if we don't get him it wont make any difference. We already have Drogba and Torres as CF. We need wingers, playmakers, defensive mids and right backs.
-
I dont think so. Kaka was the best player in the world in 2007, and he also was at good form when he left to Real. Torres is a good player, but he never was even close of being the best in the world, and besides his goal in 2008 Euro Final, he did not do anything special in his career to justify his price.

is there any kind of signing that is not a "squad signing" ?
