This topic became a shit show in recent days. The Lampard links and the Sarri to Juventus thing is as ridiculous as Harry Redknapp rumors years ago. Most of those reports are based in the ultra unreliable Italian sources, same ones that were claiming Guardiola will be Juventus manager next season. Not sure how people still buy this shit, when everything indicates that Sarri is staying. The fact he wasn't sacked after the City and Bornemouth defeats speaks loud...but the press keep feeding the idea that his job is at risk. Its even more laughable the idea that the club is looking after Lampard, when you just have to look back the managers that were appointed during Abramovich years that its pretty clear the club always go after a name that has some kind of experience at high levels: -Mourinho (UCL winner) -Scolari (WC winner) -Carlo Ancelotti (Serie A and UCL winner) -AVB (Europa League winner playing attacking football) -Mourinho again. -Conte (Serie A winner, Italy NT manager). -Sarri (very popular in Italy and considered by many as one of the best managers in Europe). Appointing Lampard because the board want to make fans happy doesn't make sense, because its pretty clear the board don't do things based in what the fans are asking (otherwise they would never sack Mourinho or even AVB or Ancelotti). If Sarri indeed leaves, its pretty obvious the club will appoint someone like Massimiliano Allegri.

Sarri will ask for assurances that Chelsea are ready to back his tactical approach and man-management methods. Even if I don't mind Lampard becoming the "coach", the rational feeling is: -Would you replace a manager that in his first season got a top 3 finish in PL, won Europa League humiliating Arsenal in the final and is wanted by Juventus, would you replace this guy for a guy that best job as manager is finishing 6th in Championship?
-
i'm getting the feeling a lot of fans just want a Mourinho type of manager, imo thats exactly why Conte was loved, because he is basically the Italian Mourinho.
-
About Lampard, I don't care if he is coming from Championship. Guardiola had no previous experience before managing Barcelona, he only had one year managing Barcelona B. Appointing Lampard is a better choice than appointing someone like Allegri.

I'm still convinced that that the whole Lampard thing is 100% made up, and I'm also convinced Sarri is staying. All of those rumors about Sarri moving back to Italy and Lampard becoming the manager are coming from the italian press, the same one that were saying until days ago that Pepe Guardiola had signed for Juventus.
-
For me its pretty obvious he won't be sacked. 1- He wasn't sacked when it looked like the team wasn't even getting a top 5 finish, there is no reason to sack him after ending in 3rd. 2- David Luiz getting a contract extension can only be explained by Sarri getting another season.

There is a big difference between Coutinho and Morata: Coutinho has PL experience, and despite what bitter Liverpool fans say, he was their best player back in the day. To other side, Morata was no more than a squad player in Real Madrid. You just don't pay that price for that kind of player. To other side, Coutinho is not worth more than 50m.

Europa League Final 2019 - Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

Luiz will score twice. -
Thats a very idiotc way to look at things. Last season the team finished 5th and outside top 4 and outside UCL spot, 5 point away from Liverpool, the 4th placed team. In the middle of the season it was pretty clear the team wasn't going to finish higher than 5th. This season the team got a UCL ticket with one game to go, and for 95% of the season the team was inside the top 4. Comparing the number of points from different seasons is completely bullshit. Imagine this: a team win the PL next season with 88 points, then someone come up with "the season wasn't really good, because last season would make you only the 3rd team". And just for your information, 72 points would be a 2nd in 2015/16. 100% meaningless stat.

Im not defiant for this game against Arsenal. Their attacking power might be too good for us, while I don't think we have enough power to explore their weak defense. Imo the best tactics for this game is the same one used against City in League Cup final, minus the false 9 shit.
-
He will do a Felipe Coutinho. He will leave PL because he thinks he is too good for his PL side, only to find himself booed and smashed by Spanish press and fans as soon as the first bad results appear. He is crazy to leave Chelsea right now to join Madrid. Its the worst moment for him to join them. If I was him I would run the contract with Chelsea and then sign for Barcelona for free. In Barcelona he will be a huge success, in Real Madrid he will be a flop.

Very interesting that people are completely ignoring the fact Sarri sees Luiz as a key player, and Sarri asked the club to keep Sarri. It just shows that people don't have a clue when they throw the argument that the board don't support the managers. They just use it when it suits their own narrative. Last year people were mad because the board let Matic go. United paid for United twice the price Matic was really worth, but people were still using Matic argument to support their views that Conte poor job last season was the result of lack of support from the board. Now the board is doing what Sarri is asking. They bought Jorginho, and even went after a fading Higuain. But now people changed the narrative: the board is stupid, because they can't do everything the manager is asking for, instead they have to buy players and ask Sarri to get creative.
-
He is staying. David Luiz getting 2 more years is pretty much related with Sarri staying.
-
Yeah, its simply another boring post from someone with the same old song: "the board is shit". I'm pretty sure great boards are the ones at United and Arsenal...lol

The away kit was great, the home one was great in promotional pics and looks great in some pics, but it was just terrible on pitch, and it just doesn't look great in person either. Gold is not a good color to you put in cheap materials like those ones used on football kits. The current Nike kit is actually pretty good.

lol @Jason @DDA will be pissed. 2 more years of Geezer. 2 more years of games like last night: going from the ridiculous to the sublime in the space of 90 minutes.
-
It just doesnt make any sense. He was part of those teams and he helped the team to achieve those things. In Sarri team he is a key player, no matter what you say.
-
Facts are facts mate. With David Luiz playing as our main CB we won UCL 7 years ago, he was a starting XI when we won PL 2 years ago...and guess what, David Luiz is back in the team and we are back to UCL.
-
Whats your definition of "shit football". The way the players can cope with high press defending and the transition between attack and defense with fast passes exchanges is entertaining, imo.
-
I think the team played a great football.
-
Luiz was great, minus his poor defending in Frankfurt goal.
-
YES!

Hope Jorginho doesn't take the penalty like an idiot.
