Chelsea fans when Maresca makes 3 changes: He's costing us points with his stupid rotation, use your best team! Also Chelsea fans 3 days later: Why is he starting same CB pair 4 games in a row. Surprised he didn't make a change there. 🤦♂️

People spike about our defense but that Bayern one is not much better, in fact at least we have world class full backs.

I was right.

First Champions League game after 2 years and 5 months!

James and Gusto both started against PSG.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cq5jl744pwpo Why will September international break be longer from 2026? ByJonty Colman BBC Sport journalist Published 10 September 2025 September international breaks are getting longer from 2026, in a move that will bring the disappearance of the October international break. The change is being made for a number of reasons. These include the 2026 World Cup final having the latest date for a summer World Cup since 1966, with the match due to be played on 19 July. Player welfare also featured in the discussions that took place with stakeholders and all Fifa's confederations prior to approval. Travel considerations are a factor in the change. The reduction in breaks will reduce the number of journeys where players from one continent have to travel to another for their international fixtures - such as African or South American players who play their domestic football in Europe and have to travel cross-continent to fulfil international fixtures. There are currently five international breaks each year, lasting two weeks each - in March, June, September, October and November. Each break means there is no league football in the top divisions for two weeks as countries play two matches each. There are some exceptions, such as when there is a major tournament like the World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations or European Championship. Starting next year, there will instead be an increased September break, with no October break and a regular November break. There will be a three-week gap for domestic matches in September and countries will play four international matches instead of two. The move to switch to an extended September break was approved by the Fifa Council in March 2023. The council is made up of representatives from all six Fifa confederations and is discussed with football stakeholders prior to making and approving changes. While the September break is getting longer, the removal of the October break means that in total, one week fewer in the domestic season is lost to international fixtures.

Bayern is attacking team which suits us. So I expect us to score, maybe even a few. How we'll perform defensively is different question. I think Gusto will start, in fact maybe same lineup as final against PSG minus Colwill.

I remember only Brentford away also was heavy rotation last season? Exaggerating as usual. Palmer was never going to start after the injury and Estevao was not available. Delap as well which would put Pedro behind striker. So Buonanotte was logical choice. This is not rotation but circumstances. Only rotation was Hato and Fofana for Cucurella and James/Gusto. Made both changes at HT. We scored 2 goals which should be more than enough to win a game. First goal we conceded has nothing to do with Hato and Fofana but more our starting CBs anyway. Second was probably irregular goal with players you wanted to start. So conclusion is that small rotation has nothing to do with 2 lost points.

Poor Burnley. Lost against United also last round with 97th minute penalty 😔
-
Me too. Was more annoyed with this goal than the one last night. I support Arsenal if not us in title race.
-
Haha unbelievable. So predictable. 4 games 4 wins. 90+10, 90+5, 88, 83 minute. How can someone be so lucky week in week out?
-
Liverpool probably waiting last 5 minutes to score just to annoy us more as usual...
-
This is gray area. He didn't touch it.
-
I see nothing dodgy there...
-
What cheating? This is related to agents payments... Zero influence on the pitch.
-
Will never understand these type of transfers where 99% of fans are strongly against it and ends up exactly how everyone thought it's going to be. We had many... Bakayoko, Drinkwater, KDH, Disasi, Badiashile, Felix... How is it possible that average football fan has better knowledge than highly paid professional in a top club? How they cannot see something so obvious?
-
Never scored more than 1 league goal in a season since arriving in Europe. Now already 2 after 4 games. Not his job or something we expect from him but if he adds that to his game we are talking about perfect player.
-
Pochettino loved Disasi. Was number one in minutes that season. No wonder we almost conceded 2 goals per game.

🥶🥶🥶

If Gittens don't show something tonight probably won't start again soon.
-
Don't forget 3 surprising players starting Hato, Fofana and Buonanotte worked with Maresca last 2 weeks in Cobham so they probably showed him something and he is rewarding them with a start. Garnacho probably didn't show much 😂

Just 4 changes from last game. No need for overreaction. Delap got injured anyway in that game. Palmer and Estevao not ready to start so Buonanotte. We bought Hato to rotate to Cucurella, well this is rotation. Cucu played both games 90mins for Spain. Also Brentford don't have wingers so playing back 4 with 4 could play CBs is clearly tactical decision.
