We all guess here so I'm going to do the same.
I think Marina doesn't have a clue about football and only cares about financial and marketing stuff. She does transfer negotiations about players she probably never heard of and after being advised. Yeah we all agree we should sell Willian but no way she decided not to. If our board told her 'hey pretty go sell this shitty player' I'm sure she would get us great amount of money like she did with Oscar, Morata, Costa, Ramires, Matic... We did overpay for example for Drinkwater but if Leicester said 35m or nothing someone probably told her go for it.
About this Bakayoko situation if she block the deal it probably means it's not financially good deal for us. Like Monaco only wants to pay half of his salary or something. PSG is in the game for him so we could probably do better.
Yesterday he said for our media that rumours about him going on loan somewhere makes him lough.
Btw January is always quiet so even if we get that transfer window I don't expect anything.
It's not only about age and youth. Pulisic and CHO are better than Willian and Pedro. Mount is better than Barkley and James I'm sure will prove to be better than Azpi. That's not the case with Abraham and Tomori at the moment and that's why they should play less.
True for Morata, probably true for Zappacosta. But no way we get our money back from Bakayoko and Drinkwater. We still pay 50% of Drinkwater's wages and that saves us only around 2,5m this season. And that's only if he stays full season at Burnley not just till January.
United away and Leicester at home... Funny thing is that in two previous seasons with Conte and Sarri we also took one point from these games so it's nothing new.
I agree. I won't be disappointed if we don't get top4. I really don't have any expectations in terms of results. But I hope we can be a hit of the season like Ajax last season. They had 5,6 young players with breakthrough season and every football fan in the world now knows about them. So if, let's say after this season Mount is worth 70m, James 50m, CHO and Pulisic close to 100m and others too I will consider season successful. It's not really about money because we won't sell them anyway I just tried to explain it in simple words. This will mean those young players had great season and we can count on them in the future. It will save us a lot of money also.
Last season we had 6 points after two games. Arsenal zero. They overcome us later in the season. I'm not saying we have quality to finish top4 but to write off season after two games it's ridiculous.
