Nice to have you back bro
The situation with Mount is pretty clear to me.
Even tho some suggested he will be a starter next season with Kai as number 8s I cannot see it. From everything Frank said in the last couple of days about Kante, and our interest in Rice, not to mention how good Kova is, it is easy to understand we will play 4-2-3-1.
Mount cannot play deeper. So he will be Havertz backup. But still he will play a lot. When Havertz or even Ziyech (Kai will move to RW) are injured or rested he will jump in. I do not like to see him on wing but he will play even there like we saw last season.
So he will play a lot.
About being threatened by Havertz I think there is a bit of truth in that. I mean he showed up in training on Wednesday unlike every other player who had game the day before for national team. Kova, Giroud, Kante, CHO, Chris, Abraham all played the same day but were not there.
So looks like Mount did not want to take day off. This is great mentality to have and also great for him, Chelsea and Frank but I imagine a few eye rolling among players who did not even think about going to training on day off when they saw the pics from training.

Btw I am not criticizing Mount for this, just observation since you mentioned egos.
