Because his agent got in his ear. It's never to late to offer what he wants.
Far as I'm concerned, there is no CB out there bar Marquinhos who I would trust to come and slot right in. If Christensen or Rudiger, or both leave next summer we are going to be weaker.
I hope Rudiger's and Christensen's agents are whispering in their ear to hold off on signing with anyone else until the new owners come and see what they offer.
Saudi Media Group seem to be more progressive than the norm in their country. Think I read they had the highest Women employment rate at their company.
That being said, I would genuinely laugh my arse off if they bought us, had the same spending power as Roman, and has zero ties to the regime. The Arsenal fans reaction would be priceless.
To be honest, I agree with the UK government analysing the company as a whole, with regards to funding and private ownership links to the regime.
Genuinely only a matter of time until Newcastle, PSG, and City are down the same route as us.
Chelsea have discouraged "politically sensitive" parties from bidding for the club but Saudi Media does not believe it falls into that category.
Unlike Newcastle United – who are now owned by the Saudi Arabian state via the Public Investment Fund – Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain, Saudi Media is an entirely private entity with no direct ties to a particular ruler or government.

Everyone try and imagine had it been Werner or Lukaku in that same scenario. 😂
The ball would of shanked off Werner's shin and out for a goal kick, whilst simultaneously be called offsides.
Lukaku's first touch would of had the ball clear over the bar.
First full season in the Prem, after initially being told he'd be out on loan.
He's done a fine job. Feel you lot are nitpicking. Of course he isn't ready to be an undisputed starter ala Rudiger, but he has shown enough to be a valuable rotation option.
