Report: Barcelona are trying to convince £35m player not to join Chelsea in January now https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/report-barcelona-are-trying-to-convince-35m-player-not-to-join-Chelsea-in-january-now/ Reports from France have claimed that Barcelona are looking to convince Benoit Badiashile to not join Chelsea during next month’s transfer window. According to L’Equipe, the Catalan club are hoping the defender chooses to wait until next summer before he makes his big move to a European powerhouse. Reports over Christmas weekend claimed that the Blues have made an offer to Monaco to sign the 21-year-old in January, with their bid being in the region of £35m. It appears as if they are currently preferring the signing to that of Josko Gvardiol. After nearly signing the young defender during the last summer window, Blues fans were forced to watch him be arguably the best in his position at the tournament. However, RB Leipzig have seemingly used this to their advantage, as they have begun to demand a far higher price than before for the Croatian. Barcelona in for Badiashile This has seemingly seen the Blues shift their focus in the market to fellow youngster Badiashile. However, L’Equipe have claimed that the Blues will face competition from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United if they don’t get the deal done in January. With Thiago Silva almost certainly on the way out soon, the Blues will need to invest heavily in order to fill the void he is likely to leave in his wake. The Blues are also facing a number of injury issues at the back this season. Wesley Fofana recently suffered another setback after attempting to return from a problem suffered earlier in the campaign. The treatment table is getting very busy at Stamford Bridge right now, with Reece James time off it being very brief. He suffered another injury on his return against Bournemouth, with his comeback lasting just over half of the fixture.

Chelsea already have centre-back option under their nose who could save them £100m https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1714211/Chelsea-transfer-news-Graham-Potter-Benoit-Badiashile-Josko-Gvardiol-Levi-Colwill Chelsea have made it no secret that they are in the market for central defenders - which may leave academy graduate Levi Colwill scratching his head and questioning his worth to the club. The Blues refused to let the defender leave permanently over the summer but do not appear to be forming a plan that includes the 19-year-old. Colwill was one of the standout stars of the Championship last season at Huddersfield, with many quickly recognising that the centre-back is an England international in waiting. Several sides were interested in signing the teenage sensation over the summer after the Blues decided to invest in more experienced defenders, with Southampton and Crystal Palace keen. Brighton were also interested and managed to secure his signature on a season-long loan, with Chelsea using their academy star as a sweetener in negotiations for Marc Cucurella. Graham Potter was a long-term admirer of Colwill and had actively pushed to sign the defender at the club, though the now-Chelsea manager does not appear to be confident in his services, instead looking to sign other left-sided defenders. The Blues are closing in on AS Monaco star Benoit Badiashile in a deal worth £35million as they look to further bolster their defensive options. The club also retain a long-standing interest in RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol, who was one of the breakout stars of the Qatar World Cup with Croatia. Numerous top clubs are interested in the 20-year-old, including Manchester City and Real Madrid, which could spark an immense bidding war for the defender that may see his price tag soar beyond £100m. Asked about whether Gvardiol would be worth that sum, Paul Merson said: “If Josko Gvardiol doesn't play against Lionel Messi then he could be worth that kind of money. In this day and age, there are no centre halves about either. “It's like the world has been taken over by wingers and wing-backs. Nobody seems to be producing a centre-forward or a centre-half anymore." If both players are signed then it would mean that there are a plethora of stars battling it out for the left-sided centre-back role in Potter’s side, with Kalidou Koulibaly also best deployed in the role. Cucurella is also in the running for the spot, with the Spaniard attempting to find form since leaving Brighton. Colwill was willing to leave Chelsea over the summer if there was no clear pathway into the first team, and if his boyhood club continue to sign defenders then it would be no surprise to see the centre-back make a permanent exit over the summer. However, the prospect of losing the England under-21 international could prompt Potter to alter his plans given the rave reviews he is receiving on the south coast.

potential (I have no clue how much over the 120 euros we are prepared to offer) Enzo price potential Bellingham price Enzo age: soon 22, Date of birth 17 January 2001 (age 21) Jude age: 19, 2 and a half years younger, Date of birth 29 June 2003 (age 19) Salary for Jude will likely be 33-50% or so higher than for Enzo, I am guessing so, over a 7 year contract, potentially £55m to £85m more for Jude (VERY rough numbers) in terms of salary

IF there is no tax liability and those reports were bullshit then I do buy into the possibility we may be offering more than the €120m realise clause in order to get favourable repayment terms it also could be both things combined

here is the thing Benfica is battling for major trophies they are on course to win the league for the first time since 2018/19 they have not lost a game plus they won their CL group and think they can go deep (they drew Brugge in the next round) they truly only fear Citeh, Pool, Real, Bayern, PSG, and maybe us and two of the 6 will be knocked as Pool plays Real, and Bayern plays PSG I think they fancy their chances against Napoli, Inter, plus AC Milan OR Spuds (those 2 play each other), as for the transfer in January IF we meet the release/buyout clause of €120m and IF we pick up Enzo's tax liability (explained before) for him activating it and (biggest one) IF Enzo accepts, then there is nothing Benfica can do to stop it going through in January

Guide to Portugal's football media sources With the summer transfer in full swing, this means that all the big leagues will be looking into the Portuguese league for any potential transfers. This also means Portuguese people and newspapers will be flooding social media with lies and obscured rumors. I made this guide to help people on this sub to understand where the rumor comes from and how much legitimacy is behind the news. Abola Abola which means "The Ball" in English is the most popular Portuguese newspaper for football. They're so popular that they released their own television channel. This newspaper tends to be bias towards Benfica and is considered the most reliable source out of the 3 newspapers. It can be said that 1 out of every 2 stories might be true. O Jogo O Jogo which means "The Game" in English is a Portuguese newspaper that stated in the city of Porto and tends to be more bias towards F.C Porto. This newspaper is often criticized by Benfica often in public. As a FC Porto fan, I tend to not believe anything within the newspaper as these guys will print stories that often make you scratch your head. It can be said that 1 out of every 3 stories might be true. Record Finally, we come to the last of the big 3 newspaper which is Record. Record is the third-best selling Portuguese newspaper for good reason. This newspaper will print stories that will literally make you say "wtf". It will do anything to get more sales against Ojogo and Abola. They will print stories like "Di Maria to Benfica" or "Falcao to Fatima" that can puzzle people. Unfortunately as a kid, I love reading this newspaper and would buy a copy each morning to read in my grandfather cafe. Why? It was practically similar to a Children's book with made up stories and you can use your imagination to believe Messi will be playing at Porto. I'm not really sure who they're bias to but it can be said between Benfica and Sporting. Be wary of stories from these guys. RTP RTP which is short for "Radio e Televisao de Portugal", is the main public channel for Portugal. These guys tend to be a reliable source for many football fans. The sources they use are very reliable so anything you see on their daily news can be taken with some confidence. This is a very good source to follow if you see a story from RTP posted on r/soccer. Jornal de Noticias Journal de Noticias which means "News Journal" is one of the oldest daily newspaper in Portugal. Again this is a very reliable source similar to RTP. Even though both sources are in Portuguese, we are lucky enough that there's a lot of Tugas here that can translate their articles to keep us up to date. This is the most common newspaper you can find in Portuguese cafes. If you see a foreign player in a photo with any of the Portuguese club names in the article then its safe to presume its a transfer rumor if you don't read the language. I actually love this newspaper as a second generation Portuguese, it helped me to learn to read the language. BONUS Psoccer and Portugoal on twitter are great sources for English speakers to keep up to date with the crazy world of Portuguese football

apparently the extra money (above the €120m release clause, which is actually a buyout clause) for Enzo is to cover his tax liability as he has to trigger the clause, the club then gives him the money legally to buy out his contract see this (it talks about Spain, but Portugal apparently has similar laws) https://anfieldindex.com/8967/clause-what-clause-luis-suarez-story.html Despite what popular media tells us, there is a difference between the two. Buy-out clauses are included in every contract in Spain. These clauses are peculiar in that it is the player (the party to that contract) that has to pay the fee. This means that a club will have to transfer the funds to the player who will then have to buy out his contract. In doing so the player incurs extra tax liability making an already complex transfer more expensive for the buying club.

Arsenal have £57m bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk... as Ukrainian side hold out for £85m amid interest from several clubs in 21-year-old winger https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11577309/Arsenal-57m-bid-winger-Mykhaylo-Mudryk-rejected-Shakhtar-Donetsk.html

take solace I am not blaming her at all, zero blame, for De Bruyne leaving with no buyback, lolol she had nowhere near the power then, was not involved anywhere in that area

I think it's perhaps 60/40 he turns us down, unless he is a long time Chels fan, which I doubt We shall see, we are going to have to sell him hard on the project.

Enzo Fernandez has Chelsea ready to smash transfer record but Benfica resistance gives Man United and Liverpool hope Fernandez was a star at the World Cup and Chelsea are ready to smash their transfer record to sign him. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/enzo-fernandez-Chelsea-ready-smash-28825310 Chelsea are prepared to pay a club-record transfer fee to Benfica in order to bring World Cup winning midfielder Enzo Fernandez to the English Premier League next month. Record Sport understands that an offer in excess of the €127million Benfica took for the 2019 sale of Joao Felix has been proposed by Chelsea's new owners for the Argentina international. Benfica – currently on course to win the Portuguese League for the first time in four seasons and in the last 16 of the Champions League - do not want to jeopardise those twin campaigns by selling Fernandez mid-season. Chelsea hope the midfielder will push the Lisbon club for an immediate move as they seek to turn around a difficult first season under Todd Boehly's leadership. Fernandez's performances at the Qatar World Cup and during his first half season in European football have been such that the 21-year-old has established himself as an alternative to Jude Bellingham amongst clubs looking to recruit in central midfield. With Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all keen to take Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Benfica believe they can retain Fernandez until the end of the season and still secure a fee in excess of €80m for the player. Signed from River Plate for an initial transfer fee of €10m in June, Fernandez started every one of Benfica's Liga Portugal games as the club established an eight-point lead at the top of the division. The midfielder also scored twice in the Champions League to help Benfica secure a knock-out round tie with Club Brugge before making seven appearances during Argentina's successful World Cup campaign. Fernandez returned to Lisbon on Tuesday and is due to discuss Chelsea's approach with his current employers. Benfica – who are contracted to pay 25 per cent of the midfielder's next transfer fee to River Plate – are understood to be open to agreeing the terms of a summer sale.

I thought he played well overall
-
you are simply trying to diminish her power reduce her to a stenographer and mere spokesperson for Roman she was the most powerful employee of the club when it came to the players in/out and their contracts we are never going to agree
-
no agenda, I see the carnage left over the years and you are just in denial about the power she had Scott McLachlan is also to blame in the case of Tchou and other shite deals or turndowns

I am preparing to hear that he is perhaps out for the rest of the season, due to the need to get surgery ffs I warned that we needed to buy a bloody RB in the summer!!!!! I cannot deal with RLC or Sterling filling in for Azpi, and Azpi is shite at this point somebody better be on the cell phone to Atalanta (Mæhle) and Inter (Dumfries) Dujon Sterling has been a bust at Stoke, and he may leave on a free this summer
-
I also think that the owners and all these new directors may well be thinking Mount may not renew at a price we want to pay it's all so fluid atm I know we should sell the fuck out of RLC and Gallagher whilst we can get a decent price for them so sick of watching players leave for free on Bosmans
-
IF we buy Enzo, then no more MFers other than the young Russian AMF, Arsen Zakharyan and maybe Manu Kone (IF we are going to use Manu as a DMF) screw Rice for £100m plus, and zero chance we buy both Enzo AND Bellingham (I am sticking with my Bellingham ends up at Real prediction, if they want him, no one can stop that, not even for a British player, barring Citeh going WILD and dumping £140m-150m in T-fee and paying him £40-50m per year or so in salary)
-
Bellingham is a class above both, I can see dropping €140m (£124m) to €150m (£133m) on him Tchou's value has ROCKETED up (as I predicted, and we could have had him for £40m to £50m in 2021, ffs), but Enzo is probably worth about the same atm £100m to £110m €127m (the price being quoted by Castles, so grain of salt) is £112m he has a release clause supposedly of €120m (£106m) so not sure what is going on Rice is worth £80m max for me, but will cost over £100m (fucking Moyes said £150m last summer, LOLOLOL) unless he pushes hard for a transfer
-
my first choice has been, ever since we lost out on Hakimi (who can play winger and wide MFer too) Joakim Mæhle Report – Atalanta will sell Juventus target for 15m euros https://www.juvefc.com/report-atalanta-will-sell-juventus-target-for-15m-euros/ DECEMBER 22, 2022 - 3:45 PM Atalanta is prepared to sell Joakim Maehle amidst interest from Juventus as the Bianconeri seek to make the Dane a member of their group in Turin. Juve has had their eyes on him for some time now, and after watching him at the WC, they could move for him in January. Atalanta had previously been against selling him and wanted a huge transfer fee before releasing him from Bergamo. However, that seems to have changed with a report on Tuttomercatoweb revealing they will sell him for the right price even in January. It claims La Dea will accept any offer of around 15m euros for his signature, making it easy for Juve to make their move or drop their interest.

have not see that Manc fraud's name in a while 🤣

Denzel Dumfries (who I approve of for a buy) is the most expensive available RB out there in fact, counting ALL right-backs, only 5 more (actually 4 as Kimmich is now a DMF, but I list him anyway) on the planet would cost more (the top one of all, Reece, we already have, so not listed) Achraf Hakimi Joshua Kimmich (he was a RB , the best in the world, for years) Trent Alexander-Arnold João Cancelo Diogo Dalot
