I have said from the start that he will be a good to great player for us was (and remain) really excited that we bought him it is why I do not go wild with CMF targeting (and I also think that Carney can do anything that the likely waste of £30m plus KDH can) many, many of my historical CMF targets (that we passed on or failed in a buy attempt) have turned out pretty well here are a few examples Federico Valverde Eduardo Camavinga Nicolò Barella Warren Zaïre-Emery Vitinha Ryan Gravenberch (I expect a big year for him)

Bompastor reflects on a perfect start at Kingsmeadow Chelsea Women head coach Sonia Bompastor was delighted to see her team share the goals around and entertain the home supporters in a 9-0 victory over Feyenoord. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/bompastor-reflects-on-a-perfect-start-at-kingsmeadow Bompastor couldn't have asked for much more in her first Chelsea match at Kingsmeadow, as her side raced into an early lead and never looked back, triumphing 9-0 at the final whistle. Her joy was clear in a light-hearted start to her post-match analysis, when it was pointed out to her the Blues got one more goal than in previous head coach Emma Hayes' last home game, an 8-0 win over Brentford. ‘That’s not a competition, but I am going to text her to make sure she knows about the result! I am sure she will be happy for me and for the team especially,’ laughed Bompastor. It was the Blues' performance which put the biggest smile on her face, though, especially the fact that a total of seven players got their name on the score sheet, as Sandy Baltimore, Mayra Ramirez, Sjoeke Nusken, Wieke Kaptein, Millie Bright and Maika Hamano all found the net, in addition to a hat-trick from Aggie Beever-Jones. ‘It was the same in my previous experience. I really like when the team is performing together, it’s not about only one or two players. So I always makes sure the team performs, and when the team is performing it’s more helpful for the players individually to perform as well. 'We have a framework and I’m really demanding on the framework, as well as for individuals to perform. Everyone has to make sure they work for the team. That’s the best thing to do to make sure the players feel confident enough and perform themselves.' Bompastor was happy to give the supporters something to smile about in her first home game as head coach... 'It felt really good to be in that environment. It’s a really nice stadium to have the fans close to the pitch, especially when you win and you score a lot of goals. 'That’s our first game at home with the fans in the stadium and we needed to make sure we played the way we want to play, but make sure they enjoyed it as well. That is what it is about, trying to perform as hard as we can and making sure the fans really enjoy it. 'I just want them to say at the end of the game they want to come back for the next one.' She also discussed the possibility of Ramirez and Beever-Jones featuring together as a striker partnership in the future... 'Everything is possible and both have so much talent, so to audition them together is something possible. 'As a manager I like to have different organisations in my team and at the moment maybe we have been working only with one organisation. We just brought in new players and with a new coach, so they need to get used to what I’m demanding in one organisation, but for sure during the season maybe we’ll switch. 'We will have many options, playing with a back four, back five, back three. A 4-4-2 with two strikers is something I really like but I just feel like at the moment it’s too soon to start to teach them about all these organisations.' Sonia finished by providing an update on the two players who went off injured today and those who have been absent since earlier in pre-season... 'I think Niamh [Charles] dislocated her shoulder, so she will need to pass some tests to see how it goes, at the moment it’s too soon to give more information. Sophie [Ingle] it was her knee, she got kicked in the beginning of the second half, so we will have to see after some tests as well, but I hope it’s not too bad. 'Erin [Cuthbert] is supposed to start adaptive training on Monday and if everything goes well the plan is for her to get some minutes in a training game next Saturday. 'Cat’s [Macario] kind of the same, she’s already started some adaptive training sessions with the team, she’s supposed to progress this week and the plan is also for her to get some minutes next Saturday. 'Oriane [Jean-Francois], before she joined the club she had two seasons without playing a lot because she had injuries. So we are at the moment trying to build something with her with consistency and the plan is for her maybe to get some minutes in the beginning of the season. But we still need to work one or two more weeks with her.'

Chelsea's shock 'plan' to integrate Estevao in 2025 Chelsea have agreed £51m deal to sign Estevao 17-year-old to join up with Blues next summer Winger set to play in central role at Stamford Bridge https://www.90min.com/Chelsea-shock-plan-to-integrate-estevao-in-2025 Chelsea will utilise Estevao as an attacking midfielder rather than a winger when he joins up with the first-team squad next year, a report has claimed. The Blues have agreed a total package worth up to £51m to sign the young starlet from Palmeiras, and he will head to west London in the summer of 2025 after he turns 18. Nicknamed 'Messinho' due to his similarities with Lionel Messi, Estevao is widely considered one of the world's leading talents, and he has made his name as a right winger. However, Brazilian outlet UOL claim Chelsea have other ideas for Estevao, who they see as a No. 10. The club believe this will allow him to get on the ball more often and drift out wide as he sees fit, giving him more creative licence as soon as he arrives at Stamford Bridge. At present, Cole Palmer is Chelsea's starting attacking midfielder. Palmer has proven to be one of the Blues' most successful signings since he arrived from Manchester City last summer, taking home the PFA Young Player of the Year award and receiving a Ballon d'Or nomination. Estevao has great admiration for Palmer and has mimicked his signature 'cold' celebration at Palmeiras. Meanwhile, Estevao's agent, Andre Cury, has spoken of Chelsea's plan to bring his client into their starting lineup. "He adapts to any style of play. Chelsea is a club that sees Estevao playing as a No. 10, and that is important. He can develop even more playing in the middle," he said. Estevao made his Brazil debut in Friday night's 1-0 win at home to Ecuador, in which he came up against future Chelsea teammate Kendry Paez.

Fears of civil war at Chelsea as Todd Boehly’s relationship with Clearlake reaches breaking point Exclusive: Boehly confident he can raise sufficient capital – more than £2.5bn – for takeover bid but Clearlake adamant it will not sell https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/09/07/civil-war-fears-Chelsea-boehly-relationship-clearlake-brink/ Matt Law, Football News Correspondent 7 September 2024 • 1:17pm Todd Boehly believes his working relationship with Chelsea co-owners Clearlake Capital is at breaking point and that a resolution must be found to avoid a Stamford Bridge civil war. Clearlake and Boehly are prepared to buy each other out, with Boehly and his partners said to have the available resources to fund a full takeover. Clearlake have insisted they will not sell any shares. Behdad Eghbali and Jose E Feliciano own Clearlake and are co-owners of Chelsea with Boehly, the American billionaire, who also has a stake in the LA Dodgers. As reported by Telegraph Sport, Clearlake are adamant they will not sell any of their 61.5 per cent stake and will not allow Chelsea to go up for auction again – just over two years since Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club. It has now emerged that Boehly believes he can quickly raise over £2.5 billion to make an offer to Clearlake that would also give Chelsea’s majority shareholder a profit on their initial investment Investors are said to be ready to back Boehly, who is believed to have a 20 to 30-year vision in Chelsea, which would include a new stadium. But an offer, however big, could fall on deaf ears if Clearlake maintain their not-for-sale stance. Clearlake view their investment in Chelsea as a decade-plus commitment and want to increase their stake, while Boehly sees his involvement as lasting up to three decades. Following a cultural divide opening up between Chelsea’s owners, Boehly has come to the conclusion that the current structure has become untenable and that a resolution needs to be found as quickly as possible. Boehly’s side of the club owns 38.5 per cent that is split equally between himself, Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter, who have invested around £1 billion of their own money. There is said to be no prospect of Boehly selling his stake on its own to Eghbali and Feliciano, which means Clearlake would also have to buy out Wyss and Walter at a total cost of more than £1.5 billion, accounting for each man making a profit. As part of their contract of co-ownership, Clearlake and Boehly both have matching rights and blocking options if either side puts their stake in Chelsea up for sale or attempts to sell to a third party. While there have been claims that the relationship between Boehly and Clearlake remains professional, there are irreconcilable differences in opinion over the direction of travel and culture of the club. Should nothing change, then there is an increasing sense that a civil war could break out that could be incredibly damaging for Chelsea on and off the pitch. While Boehly’s plan is said to have been to spend the first year of ownership putting a team in place to run Chelsea before stepping back from the day-to-day management, Eghbali has preferred a more hands-on approach over the past 18 months and works closely with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart. There have been constant changes to the management structure since the Boehly-Clearlake takeover, with former chief executive Chris Jurasek, who has worked for Clearlake for the past 10 years, becoming the latest high-profile departure. All major decisions have to be signed off by Eghbali, Feliciano and Boehly, which possibly explains why there has been no significant progress on the plans for Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium. As revealed by Telegraph Sport in March, Chelsea’s owners can pass the chairmanship, which is currently held by Boehly, between them every five years as part of an extraordinary written agreement. Clearlake intend to nominate their own representative to take the chairmanship at the earliest opportunity in 2027, but it now seems certain that the ownership structure will change before then.

Dorgu scored for Denmark on his debut yesterday, btw.
-
I think you are reading too much into the situation and all based off his social media, which is a precarious thing to base any conjecture off of
-
I think Boehly is a genuinely nice bloke, but he just does not understand football enough at this point. He should have purchased a smaller club and learned from his mistakes there, instead of buying a top 5 to 7 or so club on the planet and making hundreds of millions of pounds in blunders here. Clearlake are just mercenary hedge funders looking to turn a profit by inventing some new paradigm of club ownership, structure, and transfer policy (which is NOT working atm). I will say it again (as I did when all the different groups were bidding for us) I so wish Nick Candy had hooked up as the front for the Kuwaitis (or some other massive state fund in the gulf) and bought us life-long Chels lad, and knows how to get shit done the proper way, especially the new stadium (as he made his billion plus as a huge property developer)

How a Midfielder with No Pace or Stamina Destroyed Everyone without Trying https://youtu.be/aAmUwYqXbeo?si=iJwshLEgipKIA72c Andrea Pirlo is one of, if not the most respected midfielder from the 2000s and 2010s. He was able to dominate a sport that requires midfielders to run to contribute without trying at all, proving he was a monster at Ac Milan and then again at Juventus. He was able to win everything from the world cup, champions league, Serie a and was able to conquer the sport.

The Premier League did knock at Mohamed Simakan’s door this summer. It was Newcastle again, but Leipzig wanted €40m. In the end, it didn’t get concrete because it was too much for Newcastle, which is why Leipzig decided to sell him to Saudi Arabia. If he’d been a little cheaper, Newcastle were certainly an option on the table. In the end, the financial power of Saudi Arabia won out.

Nico Williams stayed at Athletic Club, but it's true he is still on Barcelona's agenda https://thedailybriefing.io/i/148575535/nico-williams-stayed-at-athletic-club-but-its-true-he-is-still-on-barcelonas-agenda For me, the Nico Williams saga could be back in play at some point down the line, because Barcelona are still interested in him. The parties did not close a deal in part due to the finances, but also due to personal preference. Williams decided to stay, and as he voiced himself, he is still excited by the prospect of wearing the Athletic Club shirt in Europe. Those two reasons are why he stayed there. I still think Barcelona will be an option next summer. This summer, Chelsea enquired, but did not move due to his salary demands, other outlets have said there was an offer from Aston Villa, I don't have information on that. Arsenal also enquired but did not make a move.
