If he can't score in this offence, he can't play in the EPL. It's tailor-made for a striker to bag 30 goals. Look at Sarri's past teams. What a disappointment Morata has been.
-
Tell Hazard to renew. Zero chance he should be made captain if he is leaving in 9 months. He either renews or he is gone. Zero chance we let him go on a free. It that did happen, you know Roman is dumping the club. Luiz needs to be benched and sold, not rewarded with the armband. He is the number one most likely player to cost us multiple points. Every time he walks onto the pitch its a crapshoot if/when he will fuck up. Once the season started I have toned down all other dissent about our players. Luiz is the only exception because he is our worst starter by far (especially if you take Morata off the board). We have 2 potentially WC CB's rotting on the bench (especially AC) whilst shaky the blowout gives up multiple goals off of horrific lapses.

Other than Azpi.(who I would give it to) what oldies? Hazard hasn't renewed, and is gone in 9 months if he refuses. Luiz is shit, I will NEVER accept him as captain, let alone a legit starter. Cahill is soon gone, Willian and Fabregas (if he was 4 or 5 years younger maybe) need to follow. Pedro? No, not captain material. Kante is too nice.

If one group game at home wins the CL, there would be 1000 champions.

I don't trust anyone in the press to give realistic numbers when it comes to Euro footie. I look at what it would cost to actually buy players on a team. I think most on this board have realistic ideas. We as a collective have more common sense than any random 50 journos do. Here is a case in point, albeit not about valuations. Shaka Hislop is spewing all over that Bailey is fool to come to Chelsea because he will sit behind Hazard for years. Bailey is a RWer, not a LW, and Hislop also said Hazard will be here for years to come. Unless he can mindread Eden, if Eden refuses to to renew, this is his last year here unless we wind his contract down and let him go on a free in 2020.
-
Where did you find those valuations? Lets look at AM (who they say is worth only £294m) I will be conservative here: Griezmann would cost at least £120m Thomas Lemar £80m Saúl Ñíguez £120m Jan Oblak £100m Koke £100m José Giménez £90m Lucas Hernández £90m that's £700m for just SEVEN players Doubt me? Try and prise them away for less.

CIES Football Observatory n°233 - 17/09/2018 Economy Transfer cost to assemble the squad: Manchester City at the top http://www.football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/b5wp/2018/233/en/ Manchester City has spent almost €1 billion in transfer indemnities to sign its present squad members (add-ons included). This is the highest figure ever measured for a football team. Issue number 233 of the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post presents the data for all of the big-5 league teams. Seven English Premier League teams are in the 11 top positions of the table. The biggest increase compared to last year was measured for Liverpool (from €437M to €704M). The Spanish giants (Barcelona and Real Madrid), Juventus and Paris St-Germain (2nd overall) are the only non-English teams in the top 11. The best-ranked German Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich, is 12th. Total transfer expenditure to make up the squad for clubs from the five major European leagues went constantly up during the last decade. In 2010, a big-5 league had spent on average €67M to sign its squad members. In 2018, this figure reached a new record high of €161M. During the same period, the amounts invested to assemble the squad by English Premier League clubs went up from €126M to €326M. Transfer expenditure to assemble the squad (million €)

Benfica has little to fear in terms of being in a 4 way race. In the 84 years of the national league, Benfica, Porto, and Sporting Lisbon have won all but two Primeira Liga titles; the other winners are Belenenses(1945–46) and Boavista (2000–01). Sporting is a hot mess atm, so maybe Braga or another team may pip them for 3rd, but I see almost no chance Benfica or Porto will not win and also grab the CL places.
-
They had to loan him due to FFP reasons.

No one said we don't need to buy an actual world class striker. Zero chance what we have is close to good enough. I say Giroud over Morata, but that is because the only worse regular on the squad than Morata is Luiz. Neither deserve to be in Chelsea blue. Neither should be here. Both should have been sold. Our board is shit. If they give Luiz a contract extension until he is 34 I am going to lose my mind.
-
3 different positions. Chiesa is a LW, Bailey a RW, Dybala a secondary/primary striker. We need all 3 players. I think Hazard leaves in the summer. He shows zero signs of renewing. As for striker, Morata/Giroud are not remotely close to CL winning quality.
-
Bailey for RW, Chiesa for LW. They both play inverted. And no to Zaha. Massively overpriced and not in either's league.

LOLOLOL funny thing how empiric war mongers get called patriots, and anti-war pols get call called traitors as for being a 'stupid' leftist, I suppose I am, as at my income level I should be a full stop Austrian schooler, or a Tory rentier income leach damn shame I had the greed gene bred out of me my politics are far too diverse to fit into a simplistic left/right paradigm anyway

Chelsea fans don’t want Luiz to sign a new contract with the club https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/chelsea/chelsea-fans-dont-want-luiz-to-sign-a-new-contract-with-the-club

I consider Isco an AMF, much more than a winger. He can play winger, obviously, but I would rather see him at AMF I think a MF of Jorginho, Kovacic and Isco would be insane under Sarri. I also think we have almost no shot at Isco. Real have almost no reason to give up Asensio, Isco, or even Vinícius Júnior next summer at this point, when they can just wait a year and sign Hazard on a free, OR offer us a shit price and see if we take it in the dying days of the summer window. I was saying this THIS window, We need to do something fast or we are going to get fucked badly. I see a massive amount of ostrich action on this. Burying yer head in the sand and hoping it changes for the better never works. Same mentality every Luiz fanboy/fangirl I know has. To me, it's delusional thinking.
-
My gut says he isn't going to renew, and we HAVE to start planning around this, as it will turn into a disaster if we do not handle this right. Next summer he already has us over a barrel and looking square in the face of another Courtois situ. LW options of truly world class level are slim the impossibles Neymar (pipe dream, and not worth the $250m or so it would cost) Leroy Sané (City would NEVER sell him to us) Thomas Lemar (same as Sane situ, and not even as good as Sane) Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli, enough said there) leaving these Marco Asensio (only way he would ever come here is if RM tossed him into a Hazard deal, and they won't do it) Federico Chiesa (by far the best option that is realistic) Anthony Martial (I am far more interested in him as a striker than as a LW, buy he is still an an option there) Vinícius Júnior (same as Asensio, buy maybe a WEE less unlikely) Mikel Oyarzabal (can play inverted RW too, like Bailey) Julian Draxler step downs Kingsley Coman Julian Brandt Keita Baldé Hirving Lozano
-
World class CB's over 30 Sergio Ramos 32 Diego Godín 32 Leonardo Bonucci 31 Gerard Piqué 31 Jan Vertonghen 31 (marginal) and were, but are too old now or injury prone Giorgio Chiellini 34 Vincent Kompany 32 that's IT Luiz is nowhere near any of their levels, even IF he was say 26 or 28. He makes ludicrous cockups at an amazingly high rate. Why the fuck would we break a long standing rule (that HAS fucked us in the past multiple times) and give him a contract until he is 34, AND commit our fucking team to his future (or present)???? He was THE most overrated player in the 2016-17 championship year. I am going to start to have massive issues with Sarri if this goes pear shaped. Preventable disasters that are not prevented are the quickest way to get me to turn on a person. Sarri is also starting to fuck up AC, with his zero game time and zero confidence in him. Sarri obviously doesn't even rate Luiz THAT much, as why was he so so hellbent on going after Rugani or Caldara? That also REALLY shows you he doesnt rate AC.
-
Of all the players to finally break our 'over 30 no multiyear contracts' policy, Luiz is close to the worst option. He not only needs to be on the bench, but truly needs to sold. He is a massive weak link on our team. He is one of my least favourite players we have ever had. I think he is lazy, reckless, and has a shit attitude. Sarri is crazy to rate him. If I was AC, I would seriously be considering my future at the club. Sarri seems to not trust him at all. Luiz has be horrid at multiple points in almost every game, yet AC rots away on the bench. Instead of fucking about giving shit Luiz a contract extension until he is 34, we really need to sort out what we are going to do about Hazard (I do not think he is going to renew ) and also make Kovacic a permanent member of the team.
