  1. Derby County manager Frank Lampard - Tactical Analysis https://totalfootballanalysis.com/head-coach-analysis/frank-lampard-derby-county-tactical-analysis-statistics Tactical set-up & style of play Frank Lampard’s Derby predominantly set up in a 4-3-3 formation with the wingers moving inside playing like number 10s to make it a 4-3-2-1 formation. This provides a lot of combination play through central areas, where the centre-forwards, wingers, and central midfielders play close to one another, setting up most of their attacks. The main change seen from last season’s Derby is the energy in their play, with and without the ball. The high pressure off the ball is matched by forward runs made to support and run beyond the players in possession. Offensive structure Frank Lampard’s Derby look to build up their play from the back, positioning their players in the optimum positions to receive the ball in good spaces, where they can be dangerous for the opposition. Their team is set up to play quickly through the middle with a lot of runners off the ball always giving forward options; a big part of their identity. It allows them to play directly into their attacking players, trying to threaten the goal as many times as possible throughout the game. During the build-up, their central defenders are close to each other, very uncommon for teams who play from the back. This allows them to offer simple passing options to one another with the defensive midfielder coming close and giving an option for the first forward pass. Their positioning also allows one central defender to advance with the ball, as well as build a structure to prevent a counter attack. As seen above, in their third of the pitch, Derby create triangles all over. Each player involved in building up will have at least two passing options to advance the ball further up the pitch. During the first phase of the build-up, Derby’s full-backs occupy low and wide positions. This set-up allows simple passes at the back and prevents congestion in midfield, stretching the play vertically while inviting the opposition onto them. Vertical lanes are created for one of the central midfielders to pick up the ball in space. The other central midfielder makes a forward run to find a more advanced area of the pitch where he can receive the next pass. The pass to the central midfielders triggers movement from the full-backs to make forward runs to occupy a higher position. snip a tonne more at the link above

  8. so few good options if Tammy or Bats do not come good the no chancers (more than likely) Timo Werner is going to get snatch soon (PLEAS not to the Bindippers) Icardi is in the process of letting Wanda destroy his career, but I think Conte can sort him, if not, he will be sold before summer 2020 I fear Dybala will stay (Sarri will surely want him) or if not, be sold this summer or winter whilst we are banned that leaves Martial as a CF and GOOD LUCK getting Manure to sell to us in 2020 Memphis Depay I am NOT sold on him and Lyon may dump him this summer Callum Wilson will be 28/29 in the 2020/21 season and still not convinced his knees hold up, plus will, even in 2020, be crazy expensive Lautaro Martínez not sold on him, he is short and if Icardi goes, zero chance Conte will sanction his leaving, he is only 21, so still has a tonne of potential to fill out this leaves as only really good targets (if they are still around in summer 2020) in order Iñaki Williams Athletic Bilbao, just turned 25 yesterday, so pacey, BURNER, has started scoring for fun since they switched him to CF, absolutely my number one if Icardi is not doable (and Mauro probably is not doable) PLUS, his bestie is....... KEPA (they are both Basque, Williams is of African descent but born and raised in Bilbao) Sébastien Haller Eintracht Frankfurt , same age (7 days younger) than Wiliams, big, strong, fast, 20 goals, 12 assists in 3100 minutes last season Moise Kean Juventus only 19, but big, so fast, shit tonne of potential, cannot see Juve letting him go very easily, hopefully Sarri wont play him and he gets frustrated Jean-Philippe Mateta 1.FSV Mainz 05 only 21, BIG (1.92m) strong as a bul, fast, scored 14 goals in only half a season's minutes, could be a STEAL Maximiliano Gómez Celta de Vigo, 22yo, big, but has weight issues, not completely convinced, real dice roll unless he comes big this year Inaki Williams 2019 ● Skills, Goals & Assists 🇪🇸 Jean-Philippe Mateta - All Goals for Mainz 05 (2018/2019)
  9. I am prepared to cut Lamps a tonne of slack, he is walking into a really fucked up situ that he had zero part in making. We survived 2 shit seasons in the last 4, 2015–16 (a fucking nightmare) but we snapped back with a monster EPL season, and then 2017-18 (and even there we won a major trophy, the FA Cup) and got another trophy last year so this club has proven we can overcome adversity. If you look at Derby last year, and subtract out our two lads (Tomori and Mount) they really had fuckall in terms of even potential, (let alone present) top class talent and Lamps still got them one goal away from being in the EPL. Waghorn? Tom Lawrence? Jack Marriot?? LOL Those 3 are nowhere near EPL level. Lawrence is closest and he might slot in a bottom 5 EPL team like BHO or the dreadful (I have NO idea how they got 2nd place, Chris Wilder FULLY earned his MOTY award, their entire market value is only £29m!) Sheffield United squad. Those 3 players were, after Tomori and Mount, their best players, along with Jayden Bogle. Bogle is only 18, and he MAY be an EPL right back someday, but that is neither here nor there at this time, and yet Lampard got a massive FIFTY games and almost 4400 minutes out of the lad. Derby's entire team last season was worth less in Transfermarkt's total market value than what we paid for just Pulisic, less than what we paid for just Jorginho. I think he had a great year. Put him in charge of West Brom or Stoke and give him Mount and Tomori, and either of thsoe, especially the Baggies, would have finished in top 2. Derby is going to finish bottom half of the table next season if Lamps leaves.
  10. Manchester Evening News : Man City 'prepared to loan Joao Felix back to Benfica to seal move' Manchester City face competition from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid in the race for Benfica starlet Joao Felix. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-joao-felix-news-16436412 Manchester City are considering a deal for Benfica starlet Joao Felix that would see the forward loaned back to the Portuguese club next season, according to reports. The Blues are among a host of European giants interested in the 19-year-old forward, with Benfica steadfast in their demand for a fee north of £100 million. City are prepared to pay £105 million to beat off competition from Manchester United and Atlético Madrid, the Mirror claim, as part of an agreement that would see Benfica retain their frontman for a further season. It is reported that City boss Pep Guardiola is prepared to go into his fourth campaign at the Etihad with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as his forwards, with the versatile Raheem Sterling a third option. snip
  11. AC Milan: Suso demands €6m per season, club looking to sell him https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/ac-milan-suso-demands-e6m-per-season-club-looking-to-sell-him-75274 Suso and Milan look close to be parting ways. At the meeting held yesterday his Alessandro Lucci laid out the player's demands: he would like to renew his contract with Milan but requested €6 million per season. Milan feel these wage demands are excessive and are now evaluating a potential exit strategy with the Spaniard. Suso, at present, is considered by Milan as a player who is for sale. It could prove to be a necessary sacrifice as the club have until June 30 to raise funds due to FFP issues. Lucci is looking around, exploring potential opportunities in the Premier League or La Liga. Maldini would like to realize the full €38 million clause from the sale of Suso but is aware that it will not be easy. This is why the idea would be to start evaluating any offers, even lower ones, but not by much: no less than €25/30 million. snip

  14. Massimiliano Allegri Reveals Why He Is Not in the Running for Chelsea Manager Role https://www.90min.com/posts/6390713-massimiliano-allegri-reveals-why-he-is-not-in-the-running-for-chelsea-manager-role Massimiliano Allegri has ended speculation that he might be appointed Chelsea manager, or any other vacant post in the near future, by revealing that he plans to take a year away from football. With Maurizio Sarri's announcement as Juventus manager expected imminently, Allegri had been tentatively linked with a move to Stamford Bridge - although Frank Lampard remains the strong favourite. Allegri, who left Juventus at the end of the 2018/19 season, has now dismissed any notion that he could take over at Chelsea, professing his desire to take a sabbatical from football management to focus on his family and friends. Speaking at an event on leadership in Milan, as quoted by Football Italia, Allegri said: ''I am going to take a year off to recharge my batteries and take my personal life back in hand, rediscover after many years the affection of my family, children and friends. ''The last 16 years have felt like being in a blender. You have to take time away from what you usually spend with family and friends. ''I'll use this year to recharge my batteries ahead of next season.'' Allegri left Juventus as one of the most successful coaches in the club's history, having won five consecutive Serie A titles, alongside four Coppa Italia titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles and reaching the Champions League final twice. snip
  15. full stop RIOT if some shite like that EVER went on, roflmaoooooo
  16. If they are out of the CL, and if they can beat Victimpool twice, they (and this is insane to even ponder, and has a one in a million chance of happening) MAY have a shot at a perfect 114 point season. If that is ever to happen in a big Six league, then it would be this shitty team in a non Europe year. They will need to tweek a few things still I think. I think they need to sell Danilo and get Cancelo and deffo need a LB (as Mendy is hurt far too often) and they need a DH DMF (Fernandinho is simply too old (34 and 35yo next season) now to play even a full EPL-only season and remain healthy) and they need another WC CB (as I have always said, I do NOT rate Stones that high, and Kompany and Otamendi are gone-- and Otamendi has been shite for ages) RB Cancelo (by far the best for them) or Sergi Roberto or Wan-Bissake (not sure if he is a good fit for their system though) or Ashraf Hakimi (Pep style young 19yo) or Youcef Atal (OGC Nice, super young fullback) LB (same targets as us) Telles, Chilwell, Junior Firpo, José Gayà (if they were truly cray, they should make offer for Alaba) DH DMF Rodrigo (Atletico Madrid, perfect, archetypal Pep DMF, absolute is the next Busquets) or Ruben Neves or Tanguy Ndombélé (I think he is capable of playing there under Pep) or Igor Zubeldia - Real Sociedad (similar to Rodrigo, a tad smaller, is also a perfect Pepe DMF) CB de Ligt, KK, José Giménez, Varane, Marquinhos (I think he would be perfect) maybe roll dice with Umtiti, or go with youth in Rúben Dias, or finally, a wild card, Iñigo Martínez (Athletic Bilbao), IMHO probable the most underrated CB in Europe over the last 5 years, he is now 28. Insane passer and pacey, good size. He would be a monster in the Pep system and he still has 3 or so good years left. They sort those, they COULD, with a lot of luck, possible do the impossible: 38 wins, no draws, no defeats (it will all come down (if they have not already fucked up) to those 2 Bindipper games)
  17. I have such low expectations for next year it will really take some truly shambolic managing for months on end to get me going cray I will be pretty happy if we just stay in the top 6 I also am actually really excited if Lamps comes on board and CHO immediately renews
