Inter Milan in agreement with Romelu Lukaku over his Chelsea future There have been growing rumours that Italian champions Inter Milan will make a move to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer after his struggles at Stamford Bridge https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/romelu-lukaku-Chelsea-inter-milan-26323687 Italian champions Inter Milan are in agreement with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku over his future amid speculation of a move. The Belgian striker became the most expensive player in Chelsea's history when they spent £97million to secure his signature from the Italian champions last summer. The 28-year-old has found the net just 10 times in 28 appearances for the Blues this season in his second spell with the club, having originally left Stamford Bridge permanently in 2014. Having gone on to have spells with Everton and Manchester United, it was in Italy with Inter which the striker truly found his top form with 64 goals across the space of two seasons. As reported by Mirror Football, Lukaku has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge at present and wants to stay and fight for his place at the Champions League holders. The Belgian was widely recognised as the best player in Serie A last season where he spearheaded the Milanese club's first league title in 11 years. Yet he has not replicated this success at the Blues and Saturday was a low point for the striker, as he had just seven touches across 90 minutes against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. That was the lowest number of touches on the ball for a player in the Premier League since records began for a player who stayed on the pitch for the full match. That led to the striker being benched for the Blues Champions League Round of 16 first leg tie against Lille at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Despite things not going to plan at Chelsea so far, multiple reports in the Italian press state that Inter have no intention in making a move for the striker to return to the club. As per Football Italia, reports from both Gazzetta and FCInter1908 claim that Inter are not considering making a move for the player. That is primarily due to the financial situation at the club, which despite winning last season’s league title and playing in the Champions League this season has not notably improved to the point where they can invest heavily in their playing squad. Thierry Henry, who formerly coached Lukaku at the Belgian national side, expressed his surprise at why Chelsea had moved for the striker last summer. Henry, working as a pundit for CBS, said: “Chelsea like to press; to be active and to change the front three. "Lukaku likes to stay in the middle so it makes it very difficult for him to adapt to the situation. "But, again, why did you go and get him?” There will now be serious doubts as to whether Chelsea’s club-record signing will be a regular in the line-up for the closing months of the campaign.

so fucked if we let him go over a few million quid, when just the fee to replace him will be £45m to £65m or so

Roman Abramovich's daughter hits out at Vladimir Putin and Russia's war on Ukraine Roman Abramovich - who has owned Chelsea for almost two decades - is one of Russia's most well-known oligarchs with his links to president Vladimir Putin under scrutiny https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/roman-abramovich-Chelsea-vladimir-putin-26328859 Sofia Abramovich, the daughter of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, has hit out at the actions of Russian president Vladimir Putin after the nation declared war on Ukraine. Sofia has posted an image on her Instagram insisting that the Russian people do not support his stance on Ukraine. It is a notable development as Sofia’s father shares closes tie with the Russian president and comes after Labour MP Chris Bryant called for Abramovich to be banned from owning the Blues following Russia's decision to invade its geographical neighbour. Abramovich has owned Chelsea since 2003 and overseen the most successful period in the club's history, winning countless trophies - including the Champions League twice - but is rarely seen at Stamford Bridge nowadays. Sofia posted an image which had the message “Russia wants a war with Ukraine” but with Russia crossed out and replaced instead to read “Putin wants a war with Ukraine”. Underneath that message read another pointed sentence: “The biggest and most successful lie of Kremlin’s propaganda is that most Russians stand with Putin.” To hammer home the point, there was an image of Putin below the message under a red blocked image to highlight the disapproval. In the summer of 2018, Abramovich withdrew his application for the renewal of his British visa by the Home Office. Chelsea subsequently halted plans to build a £500million stadium in south-west London due to the "unfavourable investment climate" and the lack of assurances about Abramovich's immigration status, with the club’s owner having planned to invest hundreds of millions of pounds for the construction of the stadium. Abramovich has since obtained Israeli citizenship, meaning he now has visa-free entry rights to the United Kingdom for a period of up to six months. He was in attendance for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United earlier this season, his first visit to Stamford Bridge in over three years. The Chelsea owner was in London earlier that week to host Isaac Herzog, the president of Israel, for a campaign against anti-Semitism held in the English capital. Prime minister Boris Johnson confirmed Abramovich "has not been the subject of targeted measures" after mistakenly telling the House of Commons he'd been sanctioned by the government. On reading this report, Bryant told the Commons on Thursday: "Following some of the reports in The Sun and other newspapers today, I've got hold of a leaked document from 2019 from the Home Office. "Which says, in relation to Mr Abramovich, as part of HMGs [Her Majesty's Government] Russia strategy, aimed at targeting illicit finance and malign activity, Abramovich remains of interests to HMG due to his links to the Russian state and his public association with corrupt activity and practices. "An example of this is Abramovich admitting in court proceedings that he paid for political influence. "Therefore HMG is focused on ensuring individuals linked to illicit finance and malign activity are unable to base themselves in the UK and will use the relevant tools at its disposal including immigration powers to prevent this. "That's nearly three years ago, and yet remarkably little has been done in relation. Surely Mr Abramovich should no longer be able to own a football club in this country? "Surely we should be looking at seizing some of his assets, including his £152m home? And making sure that other people who've had tier one visas like this are not engaged in malign activity in the UK." There is no suggestion Roman Abramovich is connected to terrorism or involved in any wrongdoing. Sofia is extremely passionate about horseback riding and is a professional equestrian, representing Russia in several equestrian events. She is the daughter of Abramovich’s second wife, the former Russian Aeroflot stewardess, Irina Malandina and is one of five children (along with Ilya, Arina, Arkadiy and Anna) of the Chelsea owner from that marriage. Abramovich subsequently married Dasha Zhukova, daughter of a prominent Russian oligarch Alexander Zhukov, with whom he had two children - a son, Aaron Alexander, and a daughter, Leah Lou, before the couple divorced in 2018. Sofia is said to reside with her mother in an estate in West Sussex and divides her time between London and Sussex.

there are only 3 LB's who are better atm and none are available Alphonso Davies Andrew Robertson Theo Hernández there may soon be 4 IF Nuno Mendes continues his rise zero chance I would swap a healthy Chilwell for Ferland Mendy Jose Gaya is really class, but not sure if up to the EPL there was a wild card (and I say he would already be on Chels if not for his horrid injury in the Euros) Leonardo Spinazzola (right footed inverted LB) BUT he will not be filly fit by summer 2022 transfer window and he turns 30yo in exactly 13 months. so we would not even get one full sub 30yo season out of him fuck Luke Shaw that all leaves Abdou Diallo (can play CB as well, which is a big plus) Renan Lodi Borna Sosa Ramy Bensebaini Marc Cucurella Caio Henrique Aaron Hickey as main options Aaron Hickey: The Scottish teenager taking Serie A by storm on pasta, parking and playing for Mihajlovic https://theathletic.com/3117845/2022/02/10/aaron-hickey-the-scottish-teenager-taking-serie-a-by-storm-on-pasta-parking-and-playing-for-mihajlovic/

It likely would end up on court, and I would hope that UK government, as the agent of seizure, would backstop the loans IF they lose in court, and thus we (as a club) can be sold to a bidder without that £2bn 'debt' looming over the club's valuation.
