Whoever Conte wants! haha Based off what we have all been hearing and reading about what Conte wants from his team I think he does want to move to a 2 striker system or at least have the flexibility to play both 343/352. Morata: He seems to be Contes #1 guy, linked in every window and seemingly the key piece for his 352. I do not think he can lead the line full time like Diego does but he is a great team player who offers something Conte has been seeking. Will score low double digit goals and link up beautifully. I think we on the board are under rating him. Lukaku: Assuming Diego moves on Conte will want a goal scorer to match, I know we are split on him here but I can't get around the fact he is a proven PL goal scorer, Incredibly Athletic, Wants to prove he can lead Chelsea. He is still so young and I think he will be willing to learn under Conte. Bakayoko: Young, Physical, Talented, Familiar with the position. Bakayoko/Kante would be the most secure central midfield in the world, all while each can continue to improve under Conte. Van Dijk: PL Proven, Physical Beast, Comfortable with the ball. A back 3 with VD, Luiz, Azpi(Christensen) is secure and talented on the ball. Conte seems to want a stud CB and I prefer him to K2 from Napoli. Left Wing Back/Ghoulam?: I admittedly know very little about the LWB options available, but I do know we need one. Alaba is the pinnacle but I feel unattainable, Sandro is great but expensive, Ghoulam seems to be highly rated and available (I cant speak to his skill as i havent watched him enough) Still feels like we need one more wide attacking option, especially if Willian leaves. I do not think Sanchez will come to us, I would LOVE for him to join but Arsenal will be extra difficult to deal with. I am a big fan of Radja, but I can't see him leaving Roma and he is obsessed with nice weather apparently plus he would be extremely expensive. I have made my love of Verratti known many times over but I can't see him coming to us either sadly.

I am curious to see what Conte does once we have the PL fully secured. I remember reading about Juventus he kept pushing for maximum points and keeping his intensity. Wonder if he will mix the squad up towards the end.
-
I agree 100% and if you look back at a lot of my posts I dream quite often haha. That was more of a personal statement because Alaba is the absolute pinnacle of the position in my eyes and I won't even let myself go there and even if it was an agreed upon deal for whatever price I STILL wouldnt believe it until its officially announced and he signs but yes, dream away sir!

I think we are all aware of the rumours for who we want as a club to bring into our team. My question is who do we think will no longer be with us next year? I am just going to throw names out with some basic thoughts and am curious to here what people think. Obviously JT will be moving on so I didn't include him. Costa: I think he is gone, i dont want him to leave but Conte will want someone committed moving forward who is a good soldier, Diego will finally get his wish for a large fee i think. Willian: I can't see him staying, bumped down the pecking order and Conte has made it known he wants to sign at least one attacker this summer. Could be sold for big cash to China or abroad in europe. If Mourinho wants to give us 50m i would let him go. Bats: I think this will be a loan to a PL side, doesnt have contes trust, needs minutes. Zouma: I pray its just a loan and hopefully to an Italian/German team who plays a similar style, I love happy but i fear for his place in the squad(especially if we bring in a CB and bring back Christensen) RLC: PL Loan, mid table side, benefit us both in the long term. Begovic: Was a good soldier, I respect he wants to play, sell him. Matic: Would we move on from Matic if Conte gets the central midfield destroyer he wants(Bakayoko/Radja)? I dont think Fabregas is leaving anymore, and Conte seems to value Chalobah. For the right price would Conte sanction a sale?
-
I find either extremely hard to believe, MAYBE Sandro if we throw outrageous cash but Alaba? He is one of my favorite players in the world and would be absolutely devastating in our team but Bayern arent going to let him go no matter the price. I refuse to even let myself dream about Alaba haha

Really impressed me against Man City x2. would slot nicely into our Right wing for 343 or top of a 352 midfield. Gives us another hazard on the other side and also a backup creative force if hazard does move on eventually. Would be absolutely thrilled to sign him in the summer. Wizard on the ball. I am not worried about the height at all, to not sign an attacking player with his skill level cause he is a couple inches shorter than someone deems essential is ludicrous in my mind.

I was having this discussion with a friend yesterday. Personally either Rom or Belotti for me. Belotti is the most like for like replacement for Diego, Rom would be the most physically imposing and a proven PL goal scorer, While Morata would be the smartest and interplay with the rest of the team would be the best. (in my opinion) I do believe Conte would be able to get the best out of Rom which is why I am warming to the idea of him returning. Young players go through a maturation process as professionals and I think Conte could have the same effect on Rom as he did on Pogba. If Costa does finally move on I have full faith that whoever we bring in will be Conte approved from what he wants out of his striker which works for me.

Perhaps, Maybe Cahill is more comfortable at RCB and Ake is a better forward ball player from LCB than Zouma is from RCB? I dont know! We will find out. Fabregas or Matic for you this game? Feels like a fabregas game.
-
or perhaps Ake LCB, Cahill moves to the Right with Azpi at RWB?

http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/faouzi-ghoulam-meet-arsenal-target-who-could-be-their-left-back-solution interesting read. Seems like a perfect fit, whenever the knock on the player is lapse of concentration i just figure Conte will coach the hell out of them until they learn exactly what is required. Such a luxury having the Don
-
Would we have to sell anyone? We certainly have the cash on hand. Sanchez can play any of the 3 attacking spots and be a spectacular fill in for Costa if he needs rest or is out. Hazard, Costa, Sanchez, Pedro, Willian brings a lot of diversity and skill depending on the team Conte wants to put out there. Edit: In the over priced market today I would be comfortable with a bid up to the pricing you said, 40m would be perfect.
-
I agree he is a spectacular fit. The question would be how big of a bid are you comfortable with?
-
Watching him today play vs Borussia MG he is really impressing me. Set up their first goal really well with a long run and some slick footwork. Plus that free kick from the first leg. Would be thrilled to see him on the right wing next year. A good option for us who brings a different style than B Silva
-
@killer1257 I agree, especially with that young core they are building a nice team.
-
thats fair, it seems Conte values left footers on the left side but Christensen could absolutely play in that spot you're correct. I will change my statement to "If conte wants to purchase a new defender than Romagnoli would be my top choice for LCB"
-
For me Romagnoli is my #1 choice for LCB position. Has great experience, left footed, strong, Italian(im very partial to italians). Knows the system and could grow with our team. Will be incredibly difficult to pry him away from AC however. A man can dream.
-
If the performances Conte has given doesn't excite him, nothing will. I am cautiously optimistic we will get a couple of the big targets this summer. Sign a couple of these Monaco kids up and we are cooking with gas.
-
I have a feeling this summer with conte wanting signings, flush with cash and an excited Roman, plus hopefully winning the PL we can attract some big names. We also offer an attacking position that is easier to start as opposed to City. Fingers crossed.
-
Hazard and Silva together would be absolutely terrifying. So tricky and slick. Costa would be licking his lips. Will be a heavyweight battle for him this summer, lets hope we come out on top!
-
holy moly Silva just undressed city and played a killer pass. Shook of physical tackles and nutmegged a guy. I'm sold. Costa on the end of that and its a goal.
-
Keita, Kante, Matic wouldnt even be fair in a 352 ahahah could you imagine! We have never been linked for him but i would love to see him zooming around stamford bridge
-
Well that is open for debate, Andrea Belotti has characteristics and similar quality to Costa. I would love to see Auba running the counter with hazard but for me I think he has his heart set on Real Madrid.
-
Going to be a very very busy summer across the top 6. We are extremely flush with cash, will hopefully be the PL champions and have the allure of Conte and Champions League. I can't even guess how many players he will want to bring in but Chelsea are going to look mighty different next year I think.
-
Would love Belotti here, I have expressed that many times. This feels like lazy click bait, possibility in the summer if Diego leaves. Can't wait for the window to be closed so we can focus fully on the title

Anyone who has been referred to as "The Bosnian Tank" is good with me ahah Don't know much about him besides the fact he is big, fast, and physical. Send them a little money so we dont have to fight it out on a free and lets get him in here working with Alonso.
