  1. What a stupid post. Oscar was by far our best player in the 1st half of last season yet somehow we should attribute his form to Fabregas and co? Okay then..... Even the man who is apparently desperate to sell him was shouting praise from the rooftops http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2799001/oscar-finally-fulfilling-potential-claims-chelsea-boss-jose-mourinho.html http://www.businessinsider.com/afp-mourinho-rolls-out-red-carpet-for-oscar-after-premier-league-win-2014-11 Of course our fast food fanbase will forget shit like that because of average players like fecking Koke, not Isco, Verratti, James, Thiago or Pogba but freaking Koke. Can't believe the usual suspects are doing to best to dismiss his undeniable impact in the first half of the season to suit their delusional agendas. How can a player who scored/created so many crucial goals supposedly only ride the coattails of others? Amazing logic. Again, his form has undoubtedly tanked in the 2nd half but the same could be said for Costa, Cesc and especially Matic who continues to get passes from Chelsea fans because he isn't Mikel.
  2. Show me examples of Koke being this all conquering midfielder you keep claiming. He plays on the wing for Atleti for a reason you complete and utter clown, the same role Milner plays for City. Learn the game and stop relying on the popular opinion to rate players. Koke will never even reach the level Xavi is at even now at 35. He's a great crosser, good defensively and is one of the best set piece takers in the World but there's literally nothing special about him like you continually suggest. The fact that you took that Oscar comment literally tells me everything I need to know about you. It was obviously tongue in cheek.
  3. It was clearly arguable. Take away set pieces and Oscar's contribution in the first half of the season was only bettered by Costa. The amount of opening goals he scored & created was insane but whatever. You lot have made up your mind about him, he wouldn't even get into Crystal Palace's team obviously.
  4. This guy seriously isn't still forcing the Koke & Xavi comparison 3 days later? Surely not. Koke is a million miles behind Xavi and is closer to James Milner than he is to the former. Spatial awareness, balance, vision, crispness/accuracy of his passing, touch etc..Koke doesn't have any of that in his locker. Xavi was the architect of arguably both the best club & national teams of all time. Koke will never in his life reach that level, he's simply an industrious midfielder with a great cross on him.
  5. Nah, our supporters will probably just pretend he's shit like Sturridge.
  6. Yet the guy laughably claims he's being objective.
  7. Nah, I only agree with consistency. If Oscar can maintain his first half of the season form for a entire season then he's better than Koke for me personally. I vehemently disagree with Koke being more talented. For me the only thing he has over Oscar is a clear advantage physically which is Oscar's biggest weakness. Oscar needs to work not only his co-ordination but core strength in the off-season.
  8. I'm a troll because I have the audacity to support one of our players that receives OTT vitriolic abuse from his own fans? How about you put up a decent rebuttal as to why Koke is miles ahead of Oscar instead of clogging up this thread with even more nonsense.
  9. He rarely ever even plays in CM but he's supposedly a Xavi/Iniesta replacement? LOL. That's reserved for Thiago and Isco respectively. Koke is way ahead of Oscar in terms of physical development and is more consistent but I see nothing in his game that makes me think he's streets ahead of Oscar like you keep suggesting. You keep repeating he's miles ahead because pundits claim so, as if that's supposed to make me change my opinion. Koke is a good player but he's more of a workhorse than this unheralded genius you keep insinuating he is. Excellent set piece taker & crosser but again, there's nothing in his game Oscar should be overly envious of. I'd rather have Oscar in my team because he has more potential.
  10. There's not trollish about that comment and stop pretending you even watch Atleti regularly outside the Champions League. The usual suspects in here criticize Oscar was his supposed lack of flair, vision and dribbling ability but Koke is definitely Zidane right? Or is this just another case of the grass is greener on the other side syndrome.
  11. It isn't a coincidence at all. He's 10x the #10 Fabregas is.
  12. Koke is clearly an average player. He has great workrate and a great cross on him but he's nothing special at all.Oscar obviously has the higher ceiling. Not sure why some of you are pretending he's the second coming of Iniesta or something.
  13. Exactly this. The likes of United, Madrid, Bayern & Barcelona not only demand results but stylish football along with it yet we're supposedly spoiled for expecting a more proactive and progressive style of football from our manager. We aren't some plucky club battling relegation we're one of the biggest clubs in the World with some of the best players in football.
  14. The cheek of people that spend half their time in the Oscar thread abusing him complaining about constructive criticism in this thread. Clowns.
  15. Yeah, that segment hit me hard for some reason. We're comfortably sat atop of the League, playing at the Bridge & have players like Hazard, Cesc & Oscar yet the discussion was about how Mourinho was going to nullify United. Rightly so as well.
  16. Let's not pretend the Real Madrid team he supposedly built into an attacking team wasn't scoring a shitload of goals both before & after him. They routinely turned over fodder but always reverted to type against the bigger teams and paid a heavy price for it. Lets be honest, there would probably be less complaints about our turgid football if the pragmatic nature of Jose's philosophy wasn't a constant theme throughout his managerial career. You're delusional if you think we aren't going to be parking the bus in another CL knockout tie or playing a RB at RW in a CL semifinal at home next season. No one's expecting us to put 5 or 6 past teams every week but stylistically we're clearly behind the very best teams. The key elements of a truly great team are missing in this current side.
  17. Reading Redcafe's match thread for our upcoming game and it's depressing how many posters suggest we're going to play defensive football and park the bus (especially at home too). That's not the type of football I hope the club continues to be associated with.
  18. The only explanation for this sort of blind loyalty and delusion is Mourinho is the reason some of you became Chelsea fans otherwise I don't understand it. And who said he has to bring him on during the 80 minute mark? It was clear Didier wasn't up to the task as early as the first 15 minutes of yesterday. He could have brought on Izzy much earlier. And it's always it isn't the "right time" with some of you, when is this mythical "right time" to bring through youth exactly?
  19. I don't see how anyone can possibly defend that quote by Mourinho. That's outrageous even for him.
  20. Seems like our fans are content with the phrase "parking the bus" forever being associated with our club (with our manager ironically being the one that coined it). Give me the football we played in the 09-10 season under Carlo over what we've been doing this season. Will never forget how the entire Bridge was rocking in unison and collective joy during the 8-0 against Wigan. “The reality is we want to play a certain style. Not what you are seeing now. We have to look better than that. If you sit there deep in a low block, with no spaces, you can be there three hours. I went with Inter to Barcelona and, for 60 minutes, we played with 10 men and if we needed to be there longer we’d have played for another 60 minutes. I don’t want my team to play like that.” “We all agree,” Mourinho said to the proposition that his new-found enthusiasm for the expansive game is driven by the demands of Roman Abramovich. “We had one meeting, and in that meeting we had, not an agreement, but we were all convinced this was the way we want to do it. It’s not my way, a specific way, it’s a way of adapting to the quality of the players. We don’t want to play the same way as we did before. The profile of the players is completely different. We don’t want to be reactive. We want to be proactive, and to educate the players in this direction. The players are open for some, and not so open for others because it’s more difficult.” It was, however, a process that would not happen overnight. I mean these are his own words. There's nothing wrong with fans demanding more from the manager as they do from Oscar or Willian. Again, we've made significant strides towards playing more expansive football especially with Cesc Fabregas at the forefront of that new style but we've since reverted to type ever since we got hammered against Tottenham. “It’s about changing mentality. It takes a bit of time. But not five, six, seven years. I promise. You don’t have to wait so long.” Which is why I've stated next season he has to complete the so called "evolution". Not just with the style of the team but also integration of youth which we've neglected for far too long. We have by far the best academy in England and one of the best in Europe. Time to develop our own Harry Kane's.
  21. Surely no one can be happy with the turgid shit we've played this entire year? We're just reliant on individual brilliance from Eden Hazard, opposition errors and set pieces. There's very little margin of error with that style of play which was emphatically emphasized against PSG in the CL. There has to be an evolution with Jose and in result the team next season. My biggest gripe with this team is we simply do not dominate possession like the elite teams (PSG, Bayern, Juve & Madrid) do. Expending so much energy chasing the ball will always lead to fatigue. Not surprised players are running on fumes at the moment. For me, this season is all about instilling a winning mentality in the players so I can excuse the shit football but we're too big a club to continue in this fashion for another season.
  22. He's just so bad on the ball it hurts. It's hard to fault him when his own manager is the one sabotaging him though. Still doesn't make it any easier to watch his displays especially when the likes of Lahm, Alaba, Marcelo, Rodriguez, Luis etc exist
  23. He's just so painfully average. He'll always give you 6/10 but he's never a threat. He'll never win you games and he's the most predictable winger out there. I suppose that's why the majority of our fans prefer him to Oscar. You know what you're going to get with Willian while Oscar has a tendency to fluctuate from sublime to absolute dross.
