I'm not here to convince you Hazard is the better player. I could care less about the who's better discussions. Carrying the team is an exaggeration. They haven't exactly been playing the toughest opponents in Messi's absence either. Suarez is still there, same goes for Busquets' brilliance in midfield. And then there's the fact that Barca is still one of the best units in the world. Neymar's a fantastic player but there's plenty of room for improvement. I'm happy to see him get better and better.
-
I'd still pick Hazard over Neymar. A slump in form will never change that. I like his football better than Neymar's. But they're different players, they offer different qualities to a team. On Neymar, he's developing wonderfully. Exciting stuff.

Nonsense. Footballers don't play for managers. A great motivator can squeeze (a bit) more out of players but they don't actually play for the manager. They play for themselves. We're talking about athletes, natural born competitors. Losing is failure. Sensationalism at it's finest.

New managers can cause a spark though. I wouldn't necessarily link it to consciously turning it up because they got rid of the previous manager. Most of the time it's just the players trying to prove themselves and claim a spot under the new manager. Or simply a welcome freshness in terms of training, playing style and tactics. I don't think an entire group of players can be that diabolical. I still say it's mostly linked to the physical shape. And then it got so bad it affected the mental shape. I don't buy the motivation crap. Not after one measly title. Besides, Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Cesc, Matic, Hazard and Costa (only mentioning starters) won a title(s) before. They, and others, have won cup competitions as well. This is very much like Dortmund last season. They too reached a point of no return. New manager Tuchel is playing with the same team for the most part though, but he dropped a couple of underperforming players, made some changes to the roles of certain players and changed Dortmund's style in general. He didn't even have to go out and buy top players or get rid of players 'who don't care'. This is the best Dortmund team since 12/13. It may look like it right now, but these players haven't forgotten how to play football.

That's happened far too often under Mourinho's reign. He can really drill a team to inspire cluelessness on the ball. We've watched so many games in which Chelsea look like they won't ever score. Set-pieces then often save us. This season is awful. Every game feels like a potential loss.
-
It's pretty funny though. The Aguero pic is funny (just look at his face) and the Alexis Sanchez comeback is funny.
-
It's not what he specifically said, it's that he said it. Footballers are supposed to say everything is dandy and sweet. My shock at his words has more to the with the last part, if he actually said it. About him being asked to do it all. That's exposure of Mourinho's offensive tactics. Again, not surprising - we the supporters aren't blind (maybe except for those who refuse to see it), we know about the attacking deficiencies - but you're not supposed/allowed to say it.
-
He really slipped up there. The game is not built for such honesty from players.
-
What about the part about him being asked to do it all by himself?
-
Is that a real word for word quote? I can't believe a player actually let that slip haha.

Costa has always drifted constantly. It's fine when you're scoring a bunch goals like he did in the first half of 14/15 but when you're not, which has been the case in all of 2015, it becomes extremely annoying. Maybe the manager should consider playing him in a donkey role on the flank while playing someone up top who actually wants to play in the middle, and patiently wait for moments to strike. Kenedy is a striker by nature, might as well play him there. Does anyone know his goal-scoring record in 2015? I can't help but feel he has a very average record this calender year but I could be wrong.
-
I acutally predicted the losses vs Stoke and Liverpool. I had such a bad feeling going into this week of football. And now I'm starting to get used to see my Chelsea losing. This isn't going to change but the club can't go on like this. What to do, what to do?
-
He annoys me. He's never in the box. Always drifting. Doesn't even possess the technique and intelligence to be truly effective in those positions. He has his moments but it's not enough. Chelsea have 0 presence in the box. Get him in the box!
-
Zouma at RB. I tell you, man. It's not right.
-
It has nothing to do with luck. One team went looking for goals and they got it. The other didn't. It's called being punished.
-
Tomo, what happened? I was counting on you to be right.
-
Agree.
-
He doesn't have to be playing like Messi but I think very good is too much praise. He was better than the rest but I think he's been decent. Of course he always wins points for his work rate. And I salute him for playing through the assault he's been receiving. They fouled him every time he was trying to do something.
-
You're right but it doesn't change the fact that Hazard has been failing the basics. I've found the criticism he's received this season harsh, but that first half he played was truly atrocious.
-
Why did they have to score so early... I was expecting them to score but now they could actually win. Maybe Willian can help us out with a free-kick. Or a JT header. I can't get over how poor this game has been.
-
I don't blame Mourinho for playing defensively. He doesn't want to lose this game. And it's still Mourinho, it's his nature. Sadly for him, shutting down opponents is not happening this season. This game has been so bad. I don't want to watch anymore but I can't do it.
-
Injury time is an indication of the minimal amount of time that will be played after 45 or 90 min. So it's allowed.
-
It's your fault.
-
This game is torture. I would've turned it off after 20 min if it wasn't Chelsea. Coutinho. Sigh...
-
This is the first genuinely poor game I've seen Hazard play this season. He's been horrendous. I'm shocked, didn't know he was capable of being this bad. This is a terrible match. That's all I have to say about the performances of both teams this first half. What are the chances of Chels keeping a clean sheet? Think scoring a 2nd goal will be key to winning. A draw wouldn't help at all. Don't even want to think about possibly losing this game. Liverpool are trying to kill Willian and the ref is allowing them. What's wrong with him? Protect him.
