  1. I've been wondering about this for a long while and I just can't figure it out? Anyone out there who can explain Di Matteo's reasons for making such late subs?
  2. Sturridge must be absolutely awful, and I mean shocking, in training. Torres has been completely disastrous for weeks and he's still ahead of him.
  3. Surely he realises 2-2 is a good result for Shakhtar? So weird.
  4. We need a goal. Come on Di Matteo, make some changes. Moses for Hazard, Sturridge for Torres.
  5. It's Dexter's laabraatoryyyyy.. loved that show
  6. Agree. Though he's had some shaky moments.
  7. Shakhtar were the better team. What a quality team they are. Fernandinho is class, wouldn't mind seeing him here at all. But we were saved by individual class once again. They call him Oscar. Some great football from us after that goal though.
  8. If we could manage to buy Villa and maybe sign Kaka on loan in the winter, I'd be a very happy man. Leave the other issues for the summer.
  9. Are we linked with him though? I like Bony, very good player.
  10. Highly doubt it. This is his fourth season at the club which means his contract most likely runs out in 2014. So 1.5 years left in his contract, hasn't been a starter since Ozil's arrival, not In Mourinho's plans and his rep has gone down considerably. Of course he's not a option if Real still ask a ridiculous fee He's not The answer but I'm only saying this as I don't see Falcao or Cavani happening at all in Jan, probably should've added that. And we really need another option up front so we need to buy/loan someone in Jan.
  11. Kaka doesn't seem to be in Mourinho's plans and he wants to play. Get him in Jan, shouldn't be expensive which is a bonus (loan would be perfect), and play him up front, he can play the role.
  12. It's 10 in 11 to be precise, 5 clean sheets. Which is only 2 more than Juve.
  13. They're defence has been very strong this season. Juan, Ranocchia and Samuel have all been great. Cambiasso's been providing great protection as well along with Gargano/Mudingayi. They lack proper cover though. But they will get stronger in other areas when all those injured return.
  14. Don't like either Juve or Inter but I'd still put my money on Juve. They've lost a game, so what. Still the strongest team in the league. They did mess up by not buying a class striker though. It would be nice if Napoli managed to surprise but I don't see it happening. Roma finally managed to hold on to a lead. Totti remains class, he's even better than he's been the past two years. Lamela has been great as well, top talent. While Lazio lost 4-0. The Roman derby next week will probably be some game.
  15. That would mean stop buying players from Portugal as Benfica do the same . As long as they keep 'producing the goods', we'll always want to buy.
  16. Doubt Barcelona would want him, not their type of striker. From what I've seen, I'd say he's more a Lisandro Lopez case than a Falcao. But since the club's watching Porto, I hope the scouts are also keeping an eye on Moutinho (I'd add James but we're already completely covered in that position) and recognize what he could be bring our team.
  17. One of those matches, not much to do about it really. I believe we're going to have quite a few of those matches this season so to get very upset or going crazy thinking about all the things that went wrong and blame individuals won't help much. Didn't think we'd go through it today though as we were definitely going to have enough space play in. We had a strong start but we're still a new team, adopting to completely different style of play to the one we played before. It's important to keep that in mind. We still have so much to improve tactically, both on and off the ball. Too much space between the lines, transition from offense to defence is still too slow, shape not good when defending, still too individualistic both in offense and defence. We really need a passer in the midfield two, who can link play between midfield and offense effectively and is comfortable on the ball but also knows how to defend. A player like Moutinho would be great. Probably more important than a new CB or striker.
  18. You seemed to have missed the part where I said Lampard was our best offensive player in the periods 2003-2006 and 2007-2009, which doesn't include our double winning season and the CL and FA Cup winning season. I agree that despite his amazing goal record that season, he wasn't the same Lamps from 09/10 going. I disagree with Drogba being our best player in 2011/2012. People can go on and on about Drogba scoring important goals but I'll keep countering it with Cech's important saves. Ramires was crucial as well that season. And even though we didn't manage to win the CL in 2004-2006, we were without a doubt at our best during that time. We were the best team in world football alongside Barcelona. And we'll never know what would've happen if Drogba wasn't sent off in the 08 final, in which Lampard scored the equaliser. I'm happy for Didier definitely, but I'm just saying Lampard was a bigger player for me.
  19. That's because you're looking at it from a goals scored view, down playing us preventing goals conceded. People seem to have forgotten but Drogba almost completely canceled out the relevance of his own goal by conceding a penalty. Just imagine the possible scenario. Drogba gets a stupid red card in Moscow and now hands Bayern the title in Munich. But who came to the rescue yet again? Petr Cech with a brilliant save. And in the penalty shoot-out, Mata missed. Meaning Drogba's final penalty wouldn't even have mattered if Bayern scored all their penalties. But who made Mata's miss unimportant in the end? Petr Cech.
  20. Exactly. Take one out and the other becomes pointless. No one player deserves all credit.
  21. I'm sorry but If it wasn't for Cech's heroics, his goal would have meant as much as Kuyt's goal in the CL 2007 final. We wouldn't even be in the final if wasn't for Cech. Or what about Cole's goal-line clearance against Napoli. Giving Drogba all credit is simply ridiculous.
