It was AVB's fault for a number of reasons! The players didn't just not like him and not respect him for no reason you know! He came into the club with so much arrogance expecting everyone to go with his ideas, he tried to change too much too quickly! he tried to push out the older players which was just stupid! The guy has no man management skills what so ever! And when your not even interested to build relationships with your players then your asking for trouble! Especially at Chelsea where we are used to having great man managers like Mourinho, Hiddink, Ancelotti and now RDM! There is a reason why those four have been successful at Chelsea and managers like Scolari and AVB haven't! Because the successful managers earned respect from the players, they actually spoke to the players individually and built bonds with their players. Then people like Scolari couldn't even speak english so was at a disadvantage straight away, and then AVB just distanced himself from the players, he wasn't interested in building a good relationship with his players! How do you expect those players to want to fight for him when the guy doesn't even want to know them! He was supposed to be some sort of tactical genius but he proved to everyone that actually he is far from a tactical genius! More like a tactical moron! How can you go to Old Trafford and set your team up to play such an open game! And then the worst of all was going to Napoli (who everyone knows as one of the best counter attacking teams in the world) and set your team up to be counter attacked??? What kind of idiot does that? I'm just glad we topped our group otherwise we would have played Barca in the last 16 and I guarantee AVB would have set us up to play a open game against Barca which would have resulted in us probably conceding 4 goals at LEAST!!! In the 1st leg If we were lucky! The players could obviously see how incompetent he is tactically and how much of a joke he is as a man manger! All I know is when a new manager comes into a new team he should look at the players available to him and play to the players strengths! But not AVB he comes in and doesn't care what our strengths are he just expected us to be able to play like Barca over night! And when it clearly wasn't working he was to stubborn to admit he was wrong! When all the players knew they weren't going to get anywhere playing like that! The players gave him every chance to show them why Chelsea wanted him so badly and all he showed them was how much of a arrogant, stubborn and very very naïve manager he is! Look at the way he treated Alex and Anelka as well! How do expect to get respect from your players when you treat them like that! I'm interested to see this season if he has learned from his lessons at Chelsea because if he hasn't then it won't be long until he gets sacked again! And by the looks of thing the way he is handling the Modric situation makes me think he hasn't changed all!

so we have all the creative midfielders - Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Marin Man U have all the wingers - Valencia, Nani, Young, Lucas and Man City have all the strikers - Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko, Balotelli It will be interesting to see which style of play comes out on top next season!

for me Spain are the better team, but Brazil have some great individuals who could easily win them gold.

Oh dear! You do realize I'm not saying its wrong to be playing sideways passes! The problem I have with josh is that he has the ability to play forward and more risky passes but he chooses to play sideways and backwards 3 yard passes! Why because he is scared to make a mistake and ultimately doesn't make him a very useful player! And will only hurt his development. And as for Mikel of course he has always been a sideways passer why do think he has frustrated Chelsea fans for so many years! But he has started to adapt his game to play more forward passes! As for Toure if you think he 'rarely creates' you obviously don't watch him play much! And who on earth said anything about Mceachran having Pirlo's vision and passing accuracy! I don't know why your bringing that up! And as for Xavi lol!!! He isn't know as one of the best midfielders in the world because of his 'ability to play intelligent and accurate side way passes.' I can assure you of that! Mceachran has a long long way to go and the quicker he starts to look forward when he receives the ball rather then backwards and sideways the better he will become! I have one question for you will you be happy for Mceahran to spend his whole career playing the safe backwards and 3 yard sideways passes and end up being like another Scott Parker, Joe Allen, Joey Barton or Gareth Barry type player? Or would you like to see him dictate play from a deeper position with more risky and positive forward passes and become more like a Busquets, Modric, Alonso or Pirlo type player? Because the way things are going he is looking like he could be another Gareth Barry! Which just isn't good enough!

Really haha! First of all let's clear one thing up, first half we had a weaker team out and PSG had a stronger team out 2nd half we had a stronger team out and PSG had a much weaker team that is the main reason why we dominated the 2nd half not because of your reason of we were more composed on the ball ect! What a load of rubbish! We were chasing the game in the 2nd half and were trying to keep playing forward (except for Josh who just played sideways and backwards) and PSG had something to defend so it was easy for us to dominate them as they had no outlet and no one to hold the ball up! Like us in the 1st half! Essein came on and started playing the ball forward and out to the wingers! Ashley was getting forward and linking up with Malouda! Marin was drifting around and creating! Ramires was causing them problems and Piazon was making runs and linking up with the midfielders and josh was doing his simple passes sideways and backwards, So please don't try and make out that we dominated the 2nd half because everyone played like Mceachran composed and simple passes! When in actual fact we were trying to pass the ball quicker and get forward quicker! Something which Mikel and Hazard was trying to do in the 1st half but didn't have enough quality around them for it to work! At the end of the day for Josh to succeed he needs to watch the likes of Busquets, Mikel, Carrick, Lampard, Y.Toure and Pirlo and see the type of passes they make from deep! He needs to stop always going for the easy option and try to make more positive forward passes! The DM role has changed now and to succeed in that role you have to be able to pull the strings from deep by feeding the ball into the forward players so they can receive the ball early and in space which would give the likes of Hazard, Marin and Mata time to turn and create chances! With Josh playing behind them they are not going to get them sort of passes off of him!

Josh realizes at a young age not to take risks!!! And that impresses you haha! That's the thing he is scared to play more riskier forward passes! Which Mikel, Essein, Lampard and Meireles always make! Josh is happy to play the safe passes so he doesn't lose the ball! But what he should be doing is looking to get the ball forward to the wide men or the AM! Mikel was always looking for Hazard and even when Hazard had players around him Mikel still played the ball to him because he is confident in his passing ability and is confident in Hazards ability! That is what I want to see from the DM being able to play forward passes into the creative players not just pass it sideways and backwards all the time!

Ever since i first saw Lukaku play you could see how raw he is! he needs alot of improving his touch is woeful and his all round technique is very unimpressive! so he will surley get sent out on loan! so another striker coming in is almost certain!

no one said anything about 50 yard passes! he plays too many safe and easy passes nothing excellent or intelligent about that! and actually the majority of the time he does play the obvious pass as its the most easiest! Hazard played some excellent and intelligent passes! Mceachran didn't!

where were these 'excellent intelligent passes' that he supposedly played? Josh is becoming so overrated by Chelsea fans these days! the only passes i saw him playing were his usual 2/3 yard sideways and backward passes.

I was really impressed with his 45 minute display! i dont want to get to carried away but there are some good signs that Essien could get back to being a top class midfielder again!

He is also neglected of his talents playing in the double pivot! when Ramires plays RW its the closest thing he can get to playing as a box to box midfielder which is his best role, because when Rami plays RW he likes to come inside to more of a RCM position! Ramires isn't a winger but he also isnt a DM and when he plays RW he doesn't actually play as a winger its more of a RCM/RW/RAM position.

If Torres returns for training tomorrow then he should get some minutes against MLS allstars! im not sure when he gets back but if its not tomorrow then i cant see him playing against MLS. it may be a long journey but he will still get in some important training sessions while he is out there.
