  1. The thing about him scouting via Football Manager was a rumour/joke running around circa 2006. According to an article on The Independent in 2004, he could actually visit the training ground of the team we were about to play to gather information and created multiple video presentations for both Mourinho and the players. I don't see how him using FM could be regarded as anything but a gag. Terry07, I was probably the one who mentioned it during the season.
  2. *ahem* Don't see why the fees for Football Directors (Frank Arnesen, Guus Hiddink) are accounted, might as well include all the board members and the backroom staff.
  3. His name is funnier. His name is funnier.
  4. A few people following the Belgian league confirmed to me that he is was the player who won Genk the league. A former Belgian GK already considers him to be the best Belgian GK ever. Don't see why he would want to sign for us with Petr having a least 6 more seasons in him.
  5. Have to question how much a player could know but that's very interesting. See in the comments some are already calling him a traitor. Fickle.
  6. Okay. We're in for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong summer
  7. What a huge read I'll be gutted if we don't get him only for reading this. The thing is Record are much more reputable than the likes of Daily Mail and Sun.
  8. Bruma didn't agree to it. Instead Chelsea have to option to call him back after one season.
  9. I thought the club might surprise us but AvB looked unrealistic. If he was really approached it shows once again that the English media know fuck all about what goes on at Chelsea. Proving again that drawing conclusions from the club's decisions is naive if not retarded. Him and Hiddink sounds like a Dream Team but I'd love to see how they will actually work together and if Boas was Guus' choice and not Roman's. Raymond Verheijen said that he has a meeting on Friday afternoon in London, might be just formalities but the official announcement might come later than people expect.
  10. At last one interesting England game in this tournament.
  11. There is only so much a forum and it's administrators can do without turning the forum into moderator dictatorship. It's up to the users to keep the level of the board from dropping and in the transfer section all one needs is common sense and a good memory.
  12. It all depends on the user reading the rumours, some are more prone to being transfer muppets than others. Twitter has many quite good sources and I don't see why everything coming from it should be "dumped" into one thread.
  13. As far as Borini is concerned he will probably be announced along with the other player who will leave on a free.
  14. He would be a more usable back-up to Ash than PvA. We should keep him around the squad.
  15. Congratulations! Maturity and a cool head is all a moderator needs, you've got what it takes to be a good one.
  16. According to the latest rumours he'll be announced within the next two weeks. I don't see why we need him with our current set of players but he's young enough to be loaned out or sit on the bench. The club may be trying to get him before he is too expensive so it would make some sense signing him even when we've got more strikers than central defenders. What I am worried about is Lukaku's real quality/potential. I had a chat with a Belgian friend of mine some time ago, who happens to be a youth coach, and he had his doubts about the massive hype surrounding Lukaku. Lukaku's body has obviously matured earlier than normal (premature physical development) and his impressive physical attributes have been the main reason for him being one of the 10 most hyped kids in the world and his goals output in a very weak league. Youth players who impress due to their skill & football vision usually have better chances of becoming successful than those who depend on physical attributes* . Lukaku has often been compared to Drogba but apart from being huge, powerful etc are his technique and first touch equal to the hype he gets and deserving to draw comparisons to one of the best forwards of the last decade? To sum up, he believed that if Lukaku was 24 or 25 years old it is unlikely he would be as famous and sought-after as he is now. Of course no one can doubt that he has enough time to develop his abilities and general play but improving technique to reach the world class level required by a Chelsea striker is a bet that the price being reported doesn't reflect. *ask our very own Carlton Cole
  17. Feroze keeps it in one thread.
  18. I'd like Hiddink as a DoF with an intelligent manager of his choice that he trusts 100%. Zola joining the coaching stuff would be great, love the man. As far as players are concerned a classy midfielder who has an eye for a pass and a winger with some real pace would please me. By the looks of things Guus will join as a manager for an unknown period of time but hopefully will have the rest of his staff with him. Although I must admit that I haven't completely ruled out a a shock like Sparky or Van Basten. No idea which players we'll get. Lukaku and Neymar are the ones I absolutely believe we are chasing and probably one of them will join us during this summer.
