To be honest I'm not a fan of Drogba's attidute sometimes,I'd rather see Cech getting the armband.Ess is also a good candidate.

Hell why do I even bother,what kind of an argument is that,he was completely and utterly shit in that match and all you gotta say is that he's a striker?! When was being a football player only about scoring tap ins?!You could have easily given him credit for getting into positions instead of praising his ability to "get goals". Why in the name of Zola would we be doing that? It's not like we're losing games underperforming,underscoring or anything allong those lines.Then why would we be "looking for a player to criticize"? Kalou has been the most frustrating Chelsea player in those last few years and it's not us baddies trying to blame someone. I'd argue it takes more balls talking about a player's faults when he's (allegedly)on form than when he's not performing to his abilities.

If both Sturridge and Borini are ahead of him in the pecking order I say we grab those £2m and run as fast as we can.

First of all that's technically impossible for me and I've cheered for players that made Kalou look like Cruyff but I'm having a hard time calling him great when he's playing alongside Drogba and Anelka. Stas shouldn't be even brought to this debate,the Community Shield game against the Mancs was a fine example of how stats give Kalou too much credit.He was one of our worst players on the pitch with only Ashley Cole and JT being worse,he got a goal that Sturridge created and was literally a waste of space for the rest of the match. And "realising" that he's a "great" player after 4 weeks of good(or even great) football is just wrong,you know what they say about a broken clock

I don't question his (slight) improvement but I'm not surprised he's not a fan favorite after being utterly shit for the biggest part of the 4 years he has been playing for Chelsea. If some feel the need to be Bluer than thy then I'd recommend them defending Ferreira who has been a terrific servant of the club since he came and was Mr.Consistent only a few years ago

That's exactly my point,people get butthurt cause he's wearing Blue,I'm sure most here would be laughing at him if he was playing for United or the scum. I'm all for supporting our players but let's not get ridiculous,he's not going to turn brilliant overnight or develop into the next Drogba.

People just get defensive whenever someone criticizes him.

Mikel joined in June 2006 and turned 21 in April 2008 while still in his second season with us, therefore he doesn't qualify. If he were borne 3 months later or his transfer had gone through one season earlier as planned he would have turned 21 in his 3rd season and would be eligible to be listed as home-grown.

It has nothing to do with boldness it's just yet another summer in which we've missed out on our primary targets.

Bosingwa,who turned 28 yesterday,has started training this week but I doubt he'll come into full fitness before November,Ancelotti said he would need 2-3 weeks of training before playing but I expect more. Ramires has been training with the team this week so maybe he'll get his debut. Gael Kakuta was expected to come back to training today but I don't know if he did,doubt he'll make it to the bench.

Looks quite easy,not sure if that what we needed but we won't have much trouble toping the group.

Meh..well at least he may impress there and increase his price.
