  1. He'll get games and will have a chance to prove himself,I can only see this as a good deal for both us and Connor.
  2. ^That pic was shopped a couple of days ago. Rooney's new deal is £180,000 per week.Anyone else happy we didn't get him?
  3. Shame we don't have any figures for the new deal, but it wasn't bad to begin with.Signing it this year might actually help us achieve self sufficiency. Our Samsung deal on the other hand sits behind both ManUtd's deal with AON and Liverpool's with Standard Chartered despite being extended only a while ago.
  4. This is Stevie Me all over again.Bloody pathetic Mourinho knew..
  5. This is the most important part.Hopefully they'll drop that ridiculous "new kit every year" plan. 1st big deal signed without Kenyon?
  6. I'll try assemble a list with some of my thoughts on them.Feel free to ignore. Wayne Rooney Strong and aggressive style of play, capable of running at defenders for 90 minutes. He's quite young(25).English and homegrown. Can play as a winger or behind the central striker. He doesn't get injured as often as Torres.Has only had one world class season as a striker.Has so far betrayed both Everton and ManUtd.Has been absolutely shit since the World Cup.His lifestyle is unhealthy. His price has probably dropped significantly after the recent events, has the option to buy-out his contract at the end of the season.Last season he scored 26 goals in 36 Premier League games, his minutes-per-goal ratio was 105. Fernando Torres Tall, agile, fast with a great header and a technical shot.Slightly older than Rooney(26)Very injury prone,he's no RvP but misses much of the season due to injuries.Has declared his love for the Scousers numerous times, from his ynwa at Atletico to wearing a LFC scarf after winning the 2010 World Cup.Was woeful at the world cup and mediocre this season at Liverpool, injuries seem to have taken a toll on his pace."He's half a boy and half a girl...".Could cost 40£ to 80£ millions.Last season he scored 18 goals in 22 Premier League games, his minutes-per-goal ratio was 95
  7. Being English is more important now than it was a couple of years ago but never in a million years would it make any difference in a transfer of such scale.
  8. I think we could use a (non-sticky) thread for loanees.Doesn't have to be this one.
  9. I doubt Kalou is a real contender for the central striker role anymore,I can't remember the last time he played as such.
  10. Salomon has a point,I'd hate to lose another great player to the circus that La Liga is even if it means that it might make things harder for us.
  11. I was of the same opinion but after a brief search I found this:
  12. Here's a good article on him http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=833681&sec=England&root=England&cc=5739
  13. He'll end up at Real, they all do.
  14. I've had the same problem for a while now, clicking "Show All" makes a horizontal scrollbar available.
  15. If he didn't make the move last summer he is never going to do it.
  16. ...which proves that this whole pitch issue was overblown.
  17. Height or weight has nothing to do with it,look at Essien.Ronaldo's body type was similar to Ramires'.Even diving aside Ronaldo was every bit as weak as Kakuta is now,he bulked up later but he couldn't handle challenges when he was 19.
  18. Ronaldo was not stronger than Kakuta at 19.
  19. Didn't watch the 2nd half but we looks a bit sloppy at the back early on.Happy with the result and with our kids getting some time.Waiting to download the 2nd half to have a better opinion.
  20. Guess I had to write that I meant our current players. But anyway neither J.Cole or Gallas were made icons by us or hailed as the players that best represent our club. That's a bit too rawk-ish
