Call it anything between a feeling and a disappointment (due to seeing the same old sh*t we've been watching) but I can't be positive when we're playing Everton and our attack consists of unfit or inconsistent players.Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ...
I'm extremely confident in his abilities but from what we've seen he's just not using them right. For example he's our fastest player yet he rarely runs, he's our best finisher but he stays out of the box. He's been trying to be that link for quite some time (since 2009), even when Lampard was playing. I don't see how it's working.
In that order. Much like Kalou earlier in the season Anelka's stats give him too much credit. The fact that he's our joint top scorer says more about our attack this year than Anelka's form and contribution to our play.He got 2 goals in a game we scored 6 and another couple against Zilina. He doesn't track back as much as he should and rarely ever gets into goalscoring positions despite being our best finisher. With Drogba ill and Malouda tired he should make things happen rather than drifting to the sideline slowing things down and fake shots, in that aspect he's been no better than Kalou whose directness is more beneficial to our play. I reckon the times that he should have been in the box taping in or supporting Didier outnumber his goals and assists. The few times he did he scored some important goals. Ignoring stats, when was the last time someone was throughly impressed with his overall performance in a game? I can only think of the CC Newcastle game.
That. Not to mention that as young Sturridge won't get starts in such important games his alternatives are either playing a man who has developed an allergy to the box or having Salomon Kalou lead the line.
By the time Lampard is fit to start we'll have two other players injured (Hope it's not Drogba or Cech) and Ivanovic will be suspended. Been wondering if we should have loaned Matic out.
Alex has undergone a surgery and is expected to be out for 6 weeks. John Terry is being treated by Chelsea's medical staff and will start against Everton.
