  1. We should not spend more than 60£ million max. for such a young and relatively inexperienced player (at least at European and international levels), regardless on how he was talented this year in the Bundesliga. Look at the amount spent by Barca and Real for the likes of Dembele, Jovic, respectively; Arsenal for Pepe, Spurs for Ndombele, etc with huge salaries to pay for many years to come while no return on investments, instead massive drop in market value of these players, which now prevent these clubs to be active on the transfer market. Negotiate tough, very tough!
  2. QQ, with equal number of points, which team does qualify for CL/EL? Games won or GD?
  3. yes, my concern is that if don't beat Liverpool away, we would absolutely need to win against Wolves during last game of the season to be sure to secure CL spot. And Wolves have a very good team and will fight to death to secure EL spot.
  4. Of course, we must win today against ManU to play the FA cup final. But qualifying for CL is of utmost importance: it means dozens of millions of additional revenues + attractiveness to buy new players. We can't miss that CL spot!
  5. Most importantly at the moment: Spuds have to win against Leicester. Still 3-0 but we never know.
  6. I think it fair to bench Pulisic: we will need him against Liverpool. But I would have started with RBC and CHO.
  7. I was just looking at the stat for far in PL comparing Eden Hazard with Christian Pulisic during first season at Chelsea with about the same age: 21. Hazard: Appearances: 34; Goals : 9; Assists: 11 Pulisic: Appearances: 23; Goals: 8; Assists: 5 If we extrapolate by simple rule of thumbs, it would mean for Pulisic: Pulisic: Appearances: 34; Goals: 12; Assists: 7. Not bad, isn't it? Maybe he will turn out to be better than Hazard. Hopefully, he won't be seriously injured again and show consistency.
  8. I think we need a top-class offensive midfielder - like Kai - that can score goals or breach the lines of the opponent or make something happen out of nothing. His link-up with Timo would be a fantastic motivational to him. Neither Kova, nor Jorginho nor Kante are scoring goals - or expectionally. RBC is more of an attacking profile, I would keep him in our squad. Kova is our best mid-fielder, he had a difficult first season with us, but is very consistent during that second season, and when not playing, we feel it. Kante is injured a lot, if we have to sell him it is now or never - if our medical staff believes he can reach again his top level again, I would definitely keep. Jorginho, I do not really see its added value: sell. Barkley is making his best but not enough talented for Chelsea and will never be: sell. Regarding defense: sell AC. We would need a world-class CB and LB. If they are aged, around 28-30 or so, it is not a concern to me: actually what we need in defense is experienced players who have already played CL etc and that we would get for moderate prices, not very young players with high potential, we already have these profiles, actually we can't wait to fix our defense.
  9. Ruben should start. What"s wrong with Kova? Still injured? We desperately need him.
  10. What have they done wrong in breach of EU legislation? FFP is dead. Because it is not compliant with EU legislation. UEFA and CAS are subordinated to EU legislation. All of these arguments put forward by CAS just aim for them to keep some kind of credibility. It is all about communication. Truth is, if tomorrow, Abramovitch or whoever else, wants to splash 500 million on new players, it will certainly breach FFP but not EU legislation. Green light.
  11. Yes, City broke FFP rules. As did PSG when it spent 400£m on Neymar and Mbappé. Among other clubs. Problem is that there is nothing wrong according to EU rules. FFP was dead from the outset as not aligned with legislation. UEFA and CAS cannot impose their own rules to the EU authorities. The case of Chelsea is different as we were in breach with EU legislation.
  12. This third goal is absolutely shocking. What did he try to attempt? Clearance? Shocking.
  13. That's the whole problem with Jorginho, was he playing for the right or the left en side of the pitch? Does anyone know? What's his added value?
  14. ManU is playing with two experienced attacking midfielders in Pogba and Fernandez. They score goals and make assists. We have instead Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante who do not score goals nor provide assists, or only very occasionally. What we need is a midfielder that can make that job. Kai is potentially the solution but he only has one-year of experience in Bundesliga. I am not sure if we need to spend 70m£ for a guy with that limited experience and who might turn out as the new Bakayoko.
  15. We can score goals. I am more afraid about the defensive line. If we score 2 away but conceded 3, we are left with no points. And we need to bag three points from that game against Sheffield Utd to increase our chances to qualify for CL. And it will in turn facilitate our transfer market to lure new highly talented players at the best price. Having said that, we should keep a fine balance between experienced players and young talents. We won't be competitive in the short term with a team of 24 years old or less players. Therefore, I won't be against Willian staying with us for 1/2 additional years and buying a 28/30+ very experienced central defender or left back.
  16. 3-0 against a relegation team. Nothing to be excited about. ManU are 2 points behind.
  17. I would welcome Kai Havertz, but it won't solve our defense. I would prefer instead experienced world class CB and LB, and a new goal keeper as priorities.
  18. Lamp goes again and again to say we are not clinical enough to strike goals. This is true. But main problem is with the defense. When we strike 2 goals at West Ham, results should be 0-2. Not 3-2.
  19. We need experienced players - not a team with most of the players below 24 years old. Willian is of them. Give him another 1 or 2 years contract.
  20. What's the point of buying such a midfield player while our defense is nowhere?
