Yep. Makelele was the average, not the exception. There are dozens of 5'7 DMs dominating world football. Not. Makelele was the outlier. And the game has moved on since his time 10 years ago.

wtf are you talking about? Gamble? on what? Pogba? That's not a gamble. He 22, was the best player at the World Cup (according to even Jose) and has all the tools to be fantastic. Salah and Cuadrado are wingers. They need pace and space to functions. Pogba is a CM. Italy, Spain, England, a CM faces the same tactics. It's why Xabi Alonso can go from being one of the best CMs in the EPL to being one of the best CMs in La Liga to being one of the best CMs in Bundesliga. He doesn't have to do shit to alter his game. Get the ball, pass the ball. Get the ball, pass the ball. I'd rather 'gamble' on that than keep buying mediocre options when we are close to the finishing line in terms of squad. You think Pogba isn't an improvment on Ramires? On Mikel? On RLC? If you don't, then you...well, I'd rather not swear.
-
yeah, because loans are always a better option. Josh Mceachran says hello. fact is no one knows the sure fire way to develop players. Jose seems to think there are players who need loans and there are players that are better off being integrated into the 1st team at a young age. He felt Izzy Brown, Baker and Christensen needed loans, and feels that RLC doesn't. At the moment, I'll go with Jose on this one.

still has what? What does he offer? We are not missing a Pedro from the puzzle. Pool together the 28 million we paid for Cuadrado and the 21 million we are about to pay for Pedro, throw in another 10m and that gets you any world class (I'm talking top of the food chain) attacker. We are just messing about now. We are really close. let's just push the car over the hill and enjoy the ride, rather than waiting to hitchhike on the cheap.
-
30m? seriously? seriously? wtf is wrong with his world?
-
lol. no Pogba. No KdB. No Sterling. And now no Delph. Poor City!
-
how is that funny? We are pretty average offensively whenever Oscar is out. Cesc can't handle the pressure and lack of time on the ball, and Willian has no idea how to operate around bodies. Both need space and time.
-
Jose said 3 players. Falcao and Begavoic makes it 2, and unless Jose is telling lies like he does 90% of the time, I think 1 more player will be all we sign. I just hope that one player is a world class one.
-
No. #10 role is no joke. Cesc Frickin' Fabregas struggles there for us, no way Traore or even Willian can play there.
-
So, win a treble and then go out and sign Arda Turan and Paul Pogba. Barca-logic. Meanwhile, win the League and get knocked out in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, and "we are happy with the team. being champions means anyone coming in is not starting over these players." Mourinho-logic. I which one these two entities I love, but I also know which logic I'd prefer.
-
Don't stress. We still have these guys on the payroll:
-
But working in a squad with the likes of Matic, Cesc, Hazard and all the other top class professional will bring him further in his career. Not to mention learning the position and system directly from Jose will be huge. We play between 50-60 games in a season. There are plenty of minutes there for RLC. All he has to do is be better than Mikel and Ramires at CM and he will get minutes. Between them the pair made 20 starts in the EPL alone.
-
How is #10 best for him? He's very poor under pressure. He can't really work in tight areas. We saw this in the post-season games where he just sort of ran into people and lost the ball, rather than maneuver in the space. His best attribute has always been running with the ball. That comes from playing in midfield. Yeah, it takes maturity to play in midfield, but we have Matic. Remember how dominant a Matic-Luiz midfield was? Matic did all the right things, and Luiz took the risks. Matic is an immense player and anyone beside him will not be exposed if they make mistakes. He's a big reason why Cesc has done better than expected at CM. Dude is a machine. If Jose actually plays RLC, it will be in midfield. As a #10, RLC lacks immensely in technical ability.
-
not to mention that he plays for Barcelona, with 70-80% possession games where he is just chilling as the ball is circulated from Rakitic to Inesita to Messi to Suarez then back to Messi to Inesita to Messi to Inesita to Messi and on and on. lol.
-
No! I hate those roofs! Newcastle has this bar like roof on one side, and it casts a horrible shadow on the pitch, blocking out the play when you watch it on TV. I hate that! Ugh. Well, Let's hope all our games are night matches come 2020.
-
Pep. He's kicking him out.
-
They also have Harerra and Carrick, not to mention Blind. I think Harerra is a better player going forward than Schneiderlin and I think he starts ahead of Morgan. So, Schneiderlin can be a good buy for us. He can play with Matic as a box-to-box and with Cesc as a DM, meaning we can rest both Cesc and Matic without fear of a major drop off. Also, we can play him beside Matic in big games without too much of a drop off in our ability to keep possession that happens when Ramires or Mikel step in.
-
United reportedly sign Schweinsteiger. Where does that leave Schneiderlin? Can we go in for him, please? We need a quality CM to from a trio with Matic and Cesc for those two spots.
-
what? Why would we be spiteful? this is a business, not a family feud. You want out of an organization? bye. We'll get compensated for our investment. You people are taking this too far. I have no problem with someone wanting out of a workplace they aren't happy/comfortable. Life is short and Sterling has every right to want to leave a workplace/club he doesn't want to work at. Liverpool are getting a nice chunk of money for Sterling, their problem is that it's not 5m more. Liverpool as a club aren't a victim. They are making themselves out to be, as if Sterling isn't signing a contract and leaving on the free. If he'd done that, that would be unacceptable. But he has two years left, and City are willing to pay 45m. Liverpool should take it and end this.
-
Jose wouldn't allow it. If you want out his team, bye-bye. Exe: Ibrahimovic at Inter. Liverpool are partly responsible. Sterling is a cunt, but the club have really let this get too far. This should have been nipped in the bud, or they should have instructed their minions in the media to keep their mouth shut on Sterling and let him dig his own grave. This back and forth tennis match between Gerrard/Carra/Souness/etc. vs Sterling and his agent has been pathetic.
-
If this benches Terry, moves Azpi to RB and puts Luis at LB, allowing a high line, freeing up Matic and Cesc, then I'm all for it. Otherwise. it's not really an improvement, as JT is the one that is forcing us to play a certain style, not Cahill.
-
we aren't getting him. if Madrid want him, we have no chance. Sunny Madrid and a piss easy league vs the wintery winds of England and a leg breaking league? easy peasy.
-
completely different players. More like Ronaldo's replacement.
-
Jesus. I think I'm going to be on suicide watch pretty soon.

Jose Mourinho.
