well in the context of using it to describe a turnpike it is definitely not racist. I will continue to call those of that ilk.....turnpikes or pikeys or scallies and if you want to call me a racist...then go ahead and while you are at it...report me to the authorities
-
disagree......turnpike travellers are not a race.. Just like chavs are not, or Cockneys are not, or Geordies, Scousers etc etc are not Pikey to us 'old uns' is just a shortened version of the term 'turnpike' which is different to the Romani . Perhaps its widespread use today is not understood and misplaced by the younger generation, but West Ham support has long been linked with these type of people (turnpikes) ....hence them being referred as that.
-
"racist"...not so sure. derogatory.....most probably, like the word "chav" that its commonly used with or insted of. Thats all for a different thread. but hey ho in this over PC world we live in nowadays perhaps the words should be changed to " scored 200 against the turnpike travellers" ;-)

the problem is not pre-season and how many miles and matches we do. The problem is post season and then deciding how much R & R the players need which is where the medical staff got it wrong last year as we were so 'under cooked' compared to other teams who had returned to training 3 weeks before us. Bar last season, we normally hit the ground running into a new season which suggests the medical staff usually get it right irrespective of where we have been pre season. This could be one of the reasons why Mourinho and the main first team doctor at the time had angst towards each other over the summer and into the new season as his normal pre season preparations had been seriously undermined

So imagine Jose having to give a 'forced' apology. I am sorry that it has come to this and I apologise to Dr Canairo and also for us both being put in this position. I am also sorry how she underminded my position post and pre season which left us unprepared for the season ahead. I am also sorry that since she left, Diego's hammys seem to be a lot better and not as fragile. I am also sorry that since she left there is no favourtism in the dressing room from the medical staff towards players and vice versa. ;-) I am also sorry that the conniving little witch got her wish to see me removed from my post and she will gain celebrity Z status out of it. When she appears on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing or Jungle Get me out of here....I will be truly truly sorry

how can they force him?

How Chelsea can beat PSG? - Contain, Control, Counter

am afraid time is too short to get him before tomorrow -
papers reporting that they are not close to a settlement (money wise ) and they want a public apology from Mourinho. Interesting no mention of reinstatement like in previous comments from her lawyer. Fat chance of an apology from Mourinho. Looks as if club standing their ground over constructive dismissal. Could be a full public hearing in June if no compromise met
-
luckily he has no favoured formation and picks a system to suit the players he favours rather than the other way round
-
can we also stop the myth that Jose spent that amount. The club spent that amount but not all were his signings. The new manager needs to either embrace the fact thats the way it works at Chelsea or convince the board that its his total responsibilty and sign off each player idenrified by himself or the scouts.....like Klopp has at Liverpool after seeing their haphaxard way of getting players in.

I would be happy enough if it was every 3 years.....that seems to be the way of the footballing world. Whats needed is seamless transitions from back room staff through to players and managers. A few clubs like Bayern, Barca, Juve and even Man City seem to manage it far better than we do as a club
-
its a good move by the club to embrace this. One less thing for the media to beat us with a stick. Wouldnt mind betting that within a year or so there is a big report into the gay society and football after an incident or rally/protest somewhere. After we have had stuff about football violence, racism, sexism....it would be great not to hear the clubs name not mentioned when the next big scandal happens.
-
In case they stay here you mean...that's my biggest worry about losing out on the CL qualification. Cant see any reason to be worried...Guus and the coaches are bringing us the CL ;-)
-
Managers with big names help in bringing world class players to the club. They are also reliable and much less of a bet nowadays .... a bit of wonga seems to bring class players to just about every club in the PL. Big name managers can be quite unreliable as well. Many have gone to clubs and failed
-
nice joke there mate good one ....shame you were the only one to pick up on the irony
-
Bunch of wet nappies on here. Well whoever our next manager will just to become one of the best then ....
-
How can you say that when Sir Mikel OBE has pretty much confirmed that Pogba is off to City with the Guardiola announcement ;-)
-
So whats new....City always spend a fortune. Except in this league every club has a lot of money nowadays
-
So City have just announced that they will be looking for a new manager in 3 years time
-
Thank gawd thats been sorted. We need someone to give us 5 years not 3
-
So they offer Ivanovic who has been abysmal this season a contract extension with a option to extend while they stall on our club captain and the longest serving servant of our club. Seem fair right? Jt always said he wanyted to retire at the club and now place yourself in JT's shoes his probably scratching his head thinking wtf is going on here? Ivanovic is 31 and by giving him a contract we can still get money for him by selling if a club came in for him ala Ramires....that Chinese lot seem to want to throw it around.
-
Whats the disgrace here? The fact that they say the situation is ongoing? Why because in the last couple of seasons JT's contract has been sorted by end of January, does it always have to be sorted then. Its only the 1st of Feb. And if there was a new contract for a year....what happens next Janaury?
-
I expect JT to start playing out of his skin to earn that contract. I think some monstrous performances and goals are incoming. Odds on a JT special from a corner Wednesday night v Watford
