  1. Hmm....they sang that chant last time. Who is to say they wont do it again
  2. Surprisd there havent been too many conspiracy theories about him engineering his own exit especially after him having that meeting wih Woodward in a London hotel last summer. Oh..wait!
  3. Yeah....you would think that all of them were contracted at Chelsea at the time they moved or regular starters
  4. except in Germany for starters, where clubs such as Dortmund lose their best players to Bayern most seasons
  5. And as long as he continues his 'fued' with Wenger then thats good as well. Now we just need Klopp, Poch and Bilic to start popping off at each other and Mourinho then we are sorted
  6. all i said was that your post was factually incorrect and basically typical of a modern day media fan As above....the facts you use for Mourinho havent been proved at this moment in time, but you use them to suit your agenda. If you care to view my other posts....you will see that I am nowhere near a troll but will pick posters up on over the top views that are incorrect factually. If that offends you then I am sorry. good day sir
  7. nope on all accounts. Just a normal everyday supporter who supports the club rather than indivuals and refuses to slate ex or current players and members of staff to the the degrading level of rudeness, toxicity, spitefullness, that keyboard warriors such as yourself seem readily to apply. Now run along , learn some respect and have more consideration or the words you use when posting about employees ex and current of this great club
  8. your conclusions based on speculation and lack of facts coupled with suggesting that winning a league title is a failure stinks of a modern day media fan with a deluded sense of entitlement
  9. it wasnt that long ago that Chelsea fans were singing the same song
  10. Agreed I think Yokohama have an agreement to drop the tyres part after a couple of seasons and/or they think the brand is known enough by then.
  11. The fella above is completely missing the point about branding and why clubs go with certain manufacturers. Throughout history brands come and go. Also, different brands go through varying stages of popularity within fields of the products they manufacture and the sports (in this case) they promote and endorse. The most important underlying factor is cash on the table.....not how big the company is or how much revenue it pulls in each year. If it were the case, that the biggest footballing brands only want to be associated with the biggest brand in sports......how come Utd left Nike to team up with Adidas? Nike blow Adidas out the water when it comes to revenue and popularity.......go look at the yearly accounts of sportswear manufacturers. Adidas are a long way behind Nike....a poor second. So why did Utd part ways with Nike after 13 years......MONEY on the table. In days gone by, sporting events and sports clubs have had manufacturers sponsor them.....some of the companies have been ' new kids on the block' wanting to make a name for themselves.......where better than to be associated with a huge club or event. Nike only started in 1971 having evolved from another US company started a few years earlier....who is to say that Under Armour wont have the same success as they bite into the US market that Nike dominate. They all have to start somewhere and getting a big worldwide brand or individual on your books is a good way to do it. The point being that if someone other than Nike/Adidas came along with a deal that blew those 2 away financially, then clubs would more than likely go for it especially with FFP still being relevant. Clubs only receive the sponsorship money and profits from sales direct from club shop including online. No more than that. The clubs do not get a cut on every shirt or branded clothing sold worldwide......thats where the manufacture gets its money back and basically the club has nothing financially to do with the promotion of the goods. So whether its Nike, Adidas. Under Armour, Puma, some new Chinese shirt manufacture or whatever , whoever puts the most lucrative deal on the table would normally obtain the signature. The clubs are used to promote the manufacturing brand.....not the other way round. Its up to the sportwear company to promote worldwide sales and get a ROI that is favourable to the sponsorship. Having said all of that....I hope the Nike rumours are true about us and Barca being the 2 main footballing brands they wish to promote their footballing clothing. Not sure where this leaves other clubs such as Man City whose deal with Nike seems paltry in comparison And my other point is that when the new deal is announced officially on both sides, the statements will be full of marketing bullshoite....such as brand equality, brand awareness, strategys, evaluation, campaign, global positioning etc etc to make it sound the best ever and pundits like you and I buy into it
  12. USA under armour would dispute ypur claims having some of the worlds highest paid and highest profile names on their books. Puma have Arsenal on a similar deal to the Adidas Chelsea one but over 5 years. Anyway this is about Chelsea makng them look more desirable....not the other way round......hence the big bucks
  13. If Chelsea switched to any known brand the shirts would sell no matter what....and the club shop would still sell the branded clothing. Chelsea dont make money on every shirt sold.....only the ones the club shops sell. Under Armour, Puma etc etc would all work. As you do not know me please dont speculate on what I know about marketing and all the buzz word bollix associated with it. Was in the game for years
  14. Why not.....the kit wont vary that much. It will still be blue and considering the variations we have had in the past we cannot do much worse. Chelsea are a huge brand already so brand awareness and all that mumbo jumbo sales pitch is a load of guff and irrelevant. Money talks.....not what a shirt looks like
  15. Great...if they offer 70m plus then I am sure we would sign for them. This is ONLY about money and nothing else no matter how they dress it up with fanciful wording such as 'brand awareness' etc etc
  16. happy with 60m if its confirmed true. Hope Nike respect the right blue and I dont mind a bit of red providing the words ' honi soit qui mal y pense ' were stitched into that bit But at the end of the day..... 60m is terrific and could end up being biggest in Premier if Utd fail to qualify for Champs league by end of next season as well
  17. At my age it would fill up a whole page starting with Dave Sexton. And even then I would have to Google to 1. Remember them all 2. Get them in the right order But I have a top 3 Sexton.....brilliant hard talking no nonsense manager who wascloved by players and fans alike. Hoddle...for starting the revolution and attracting high calibre names Mourinho... Hisvrecord speaks for itself
  18. no one was awsome or anything like that....from either team. It was played at a friendly pace and intensity and nothing should be read into any performances good or bad from the game. People are being over analytical about an end of season friendly where the off field events such as JT, Ranieri and Leicester etc etc were more important than the match itself
  19. with over 3m shirts allegedly sold last season and the kit manufacture getting between £12-£15 profit per shirt, we are a good brand to be associated with. The shirts sold covers the sponsership deal with ease...........then there is all the branded sports and fashion clothing on top of that which allegedly have higher percentage profitability returns for the manufacture. No wonder, another kit deal was always going to be hanging around with those sort of figures. P.S. Chelsea only get sponsorship money and profits from shirts/fashion/sportswear sold on their website or club shop
  20. the path to go is to the kit manufacture who has offered the best deal for us to part company with Adidas It looks as if the club tried to renegotiate with Adidas once the fantastic shirt sales figures were coming in and an offer from another manufacture in the offing, but Adidas not willing to play or pay
  21. If we have to groundshare...hope it is the Olympic stadium (full 60k) rather than a souless 2/3 full Wembley
  22. Not all the concerns have been taken care of though. There are objections and talks in place with rail and could seriously push back time scales. Its the rail track under the East Stand that is causing problems and a possible redesign. This is the rail track that carries nuclear waste etc.
  23. Lets hope the manager is given more support by the players and medical staff during this pre season. Jose was right when he said the players came back really unfit. Something went wrong medically wth off season fitness programs and/or thevplayers failed to respond to it. No wonder he was narked at the beginning and having a pop at players and staff
  24. As long as the first kit is the proper blue (many recently have been way off the mark), I dont care who makes it.....just sell to the highest bidder
  25. correct...the terms you have used above are used nowadays to refer to someone as lower class. I was referring to the pikey origins of how I came to use it as an 'oldie' and how it was associated with West Ham as they had a reputation of having a large following in the past that were vagabonds, scallywags, chancers, etc etc. Even the BBC let the term ride on Top Gear Greavsie has got on his high horse about the word pikey and yet I dont see him complaining vigorously about being chavs or IMHO something more derogatory rent boys. Maybe this should have a thread of its own but then again Frankie Lampard has played for both the pikeys and the chavs ... ;-)
