This time last year an ex Chelsea player Jokanovic gets Fulham promoted playing good football his name is mentioned about getting the Chelsea job but he was never a serious contender. Jokanovic was one of the worse players I've seen at Chelsea and that's saying something when you consider some of the players we had in the late 70's early 80's especially. He looked like and had the mobility of a lampost and the dribbling skill and passing range of a toddler. A year later an ex Chelsea player scrapes Derby into the playoffs again playing good football but doesn't quite make it. I'm sorry but if you think there's no outstanding candidate and yet Allegri's CV is far more impressive than Lamps then your taking the piss. A transfer ban with an experienced manager against a one season in the championship manager I know who I'd chose. I don't watch foreign football and apparently Allegri plays industrial football so what I'm afraid that's Chelsea raison d' etre like it or not. You say he might only last a season or two so you've given a long post and yet seemingly you don't have much confidence in Lamps either. As for playing young players almost for the sake of it is extremely dodgy. If the transfer ban sticks play the old heads for a season we're easily good enough for top four in my opinion Spurs, Arsenal, Man United aren't great. How can you rebuild a club with a transfer ban you can't so how you think giving Lamps the job is a step forward is beyond me.

I really don't want Lamps as manager it's far too risky. I'm not here to praise or bury Frank but scraping into the play offs 15 points behind the team in second place isn't very impressive and would not get him mentioned for any other top jobs but does for Chelsea simply because he's an ex player and legend. The Villa manager took them from struggling mid table to promotion and did a good job at Luton that's far more impressive. If Sarri goes and that's looking likely then why do some fans want to give the job to Frank under the worse possible circumstances he'll be thrown in the deep end with an ageing squad and a potential transfer ban. It's going to be a difficult season next year and having one of our own as manager could possibly make things worse he won't get booed but it could quite easily tarnish his legacy. If results don't go well the media will be on his back from day one and you just don't know how Frank will handle it and if he lets Jody Morris take post match interviews now that's a recipe for disaster.
