I'd rather have Torres back than Costa, all day long.

Andy Jacobs on talkSPORT today, said that for the first time in his life, he wants Chelsea to lose against Porto, because that will throw us into the Europa League where we have a better chance of doing something, and if we win that then we are back in the Champs League, he also thinks that the defeat will signal the end for Jose. We can all sit here and cry foul because we should always want our team to win, no matter what, but he does have a very, very good point, on both counts.

The Orient will fill the Shed Stand no problems and they will be well up for it. Acid Jazz man Eddie Piller is O's daft and I'll be staying clear of him should the result go against us. By the time the match comes the O's will be favourites anyway, Jose will be dust and Avram will be back in the chair

Robert Fleck, the season before, Norwich had done us 3-0 at The Bridge and he scored a screamer. He was never prolific though. He just never got off the ground, ran himself silly but it just didn't work. I was at the League Cup game vs Walsall when he grabbed the ball off Ernie (I think), and scored the penalty. Clive Allen was great for us. Porterfield's man management was pants, to say the least.

I am a huge Mourinho fan, huge, and, up to Bournemouth, I was pleased, delighted, that the vast majority of fans were still so openly and vocally backing him. After all, managers nowadays get so little time to prove themselves in a job and the turnaround is frankly fucking ridiculous. Gary Monk, for example, the Swans go on a poor run and he's immediately under pressure, it really is too much and is now at the point of being beyond farcical. Bournemouth changed everything I think. The fans, for the first time this season, turned. Because Jose is Jose, it doesn't give him the right not to be scrutinized by the fans and media alike. In my opinion, since returning, he has made a number of critical failings, both in the transfer market, player selection and tactics. Transfers: Incoming: Costa, Matic, Fabregas, Luis - All failures, The first three had a tremendous initial impact in the team, before dropping off alarmingly. Luis, just didn't seem to get the chance, and preferred playing a right back out of position. Rahman? Time will tell, initial sign's are not looking promising. That centre half from St Ettiene? Why? why? Cuadrado?? Outgoing: Mata (No need for Mata? Really?), Lukako? (Pardew is right, the next Drogba in the making, therefore he belongs at Chelsea), Schurrie? (When did Cuadrado ever look better than Schurrie?) Selection: Dropping Cesc deeper was, and is a mistake, he don't mark, don't tackle, therefore Sherlock, he don't fit in that position. Sidelining Ramires for so much of last season, when Matic and Fabregas were clearly struggling, was a mistake, then there is the curious case of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Tactics: As I said, Fabregas deeper was/is a mistake. And the most fundamental aspect of his tactical failings is there for all to see. Not just Chelsea, but every 'big' team (except worryingly not the Yids) are struggling when playing the smaller teams now. Remember not so long ago when Brian Robson sent a West Brom fringe team to The Bridge for their first away game of the season, result? 6-0 Chelsea, Robson's response? "not fussed, playing Chelsea isn't our target games, I'm keeping my players fresh for the teams around us" (and that was West Brom's second game of the season! Not any more, Bradford in the FA Cup changed everything, the 'smaller' teams are now playing without any fear whatsoever against the big boys, and are really reaping the rewards. In turn, the big teams don't like it up them, and are being found out, big time. Jose is, rightly, marked down as THE master tactician, THE master motivator, well, not any more, he doesn't have an answer to this positive tactical change from the smaller teams. He ain't alone, but other teams are for their fans to worry about, we have our own concerns. Saying on Friday that "Costa has had a good week" then play against fucking Bournemouth without a striker? January is just over three weeks away, if he lasts that long then he is going to have to get busy, very busy. It's a shite time to buy, but buy we must. He could easily flog 3/4 of the current first team and no one would bat an eyelid. So, so many fucking players are so, so blatantly under performing constantly. Personally, If Porto knock us out of the Champs League, and we lose away at Leicester on Monday then I think he's gone. He really should walk, instead of hanging about for compo. Leicester away, now, is frightening, and that is fucking pathetic.

Leeds in 92 was very similar to what we have now, before your time obviously, but they beat Man Ure to the title under Wilkinson and with the likes of McAllister, Strachan, Cantona, Batty, Speed, Chapman and the likes, but then completely collapsed the following year. Ended up finishing 17th.
-
This is very true
-
The only way we reach next years 'cl' is to win the Europa League, which we will be in next week.
-
The crowd very visibly, and audibly starting to turn. This season has been an absolute disgrace and the Manager, Coaching Staff, Players should all return their salaries earned so far, pledge it to charity, you name it. There can be absolutely no hiding place now.
-
The last time I honestly remember a Chelsea team lacking so much confidence and guile was the entire second half of the 87-88 season - and we know how that all ended up.
-
Dreadful, just dreadful..............and offside, but dreadful nonetheless
-
Costa and Mikel out. Costa is just a cunt and I kind of feel sorry for Mikel. He hasn't become the huge, imposing midfield general he should have. But he's been there a few years, never rocked the boat and always been a team player.
-
Like the look of that, very decent and set apart from the rest. May I suggest that the new layout gives a respectful nod to tradition, make the new Lower West Stand seating in the form of endless rows of concrete benches (painted blue naturally) and offer a £1 transfer from the Shed Stand.

I voted "YES" in the Scottish referendum. Although many, many years living in London before returning back to the People's Democratic Republic of Glasgow. Most, if not all of my friends are Londoners so the "YES" vote was absolutely not an 'anti-english' thing. I believe in self determination and, what should be, our destiny to go it alone. That's the diplomatic version, above anything else, may I take this opportunity to put on record that I absofuckinglutely despise the Conservative Party. I would rather eat my own shit than give them a minute of my time. I would never, ever tire of slapping Cameron, Gideon, IDS, Hague, etc. Bunch of self serving wank stains of the highest order. I gave up on Labour a long time ago, after Blair let the whole thing down, then Brown. In Scotland, in May, they got royally fucked off for their pampering to the Tories in the run up to the referendum vote. They are finished in Scotland. But, in Jeremy Corbyn, they have a chance to do something right, something good. He doesn't give a fuck, he don't sing the awful 'God Save The Queen' drivel as he don't believe in either God nor Royalty, so why the fuck should he sing it? That has obviously would up the Tory press, culminating with The Sun digging him out for 'not bowing enough' ffs, Aye, nae bother Murdoch. The Tax avoiding Mail and Telegraph jump on the band wagon. Corbyn won't think twice about rocking the boat and I admire him for that. The british press are cunts, corrupt, snide cunts. Power to the People (Right on)

After the International break, we have Norwich at home, Tel Aviv away then The Yids away. If that's not win, win, draw (at least) then he will be gone. In the last couple of years the smaller teams are being braver, much braver when they travel away to the bigger clubs. Very few are rolling over and getting horsed 6,7,8,9-0 as was the case, for example, 5 years ago, when under Ancelotti we were overpowering teams and scoring for fun. Remember West Brom a few years back, early in the season under Robson, putting out a weakened team against us at The Bridge. Reason from Robson? "We wont be judged on those games, we have to concentrate on beating the teams around us". That mentality is gone. Palarse doing us then Victimpool away. The marsh men winning at Victimpool, Citeh and the Arse, etc. In short, the 'bigger' teams don't like not getting their own way and are struggling to cope. Chelsea, obviously, more than the others. It's up to Jose and the players to combat this. We have been unlucky on occasions this season, both games against Stoke recently, Marsh Men away, etc. But against Victimpool, Citeh, Palarse, Swansea, Everton, etc, we were rank. Guessing obviously, but I wouldn't be surprised if Roman is hoping that Jose walks away, rather than having to bin him.

After an Immediate impact (Matic, Fabregas, Costa), its abundantly clear that these signings have been a failure. Fabregas was getting pelters from Barcelona fans before he departed for his performances and Wenger didn't go near him. Guardado, Salah? Early doors for Rahman but he has hardly hit the ground running. The January window is pretty much a repair kit of signings as the vast majority are Euro Cup tied. So, what are we looking at? Vardy? Dzeko? Kane? (I don't rate Kane but it would royally piss off the Yids). Def' Mid'?, Defence? Keeper?

Costa has to be dropped. Short term answer last season and not even a one season wonder. What the fuck is he doing to earn his place. He's not even a shadow of himself, he ain't that good. They players need to step up and stop feeling sorry for themselves. Tell you what, If, in January (Aye, I know this won't happen), and Roman said to Jose to do as he pleases, money no object then I think 3/4 of our first team squad would be toast.

I never wanted Bobby Campbell as manager. For me, he had no track record to speak of. After John Hollins, we needed someone with real motivational skills and someone that would have gained instant respect. After a good start to that season under Hollins we nose dived fucking big, big time and that's when Bobby came in. Results never really picked up and a 1-1 home draw with Charlton put us into the play off's. Things seemed to have turned round as a pre-Walker Blackburn were put to the sword but then boro'..... That season in the 2nd Division, I went to every game, home and away. After a shaky start due possibly to the FA closing the Shed, a ban on away fans and you couldn't buy a ticket on the day. Let the five home games and one League Cup game (Scunthorpe anyone? 5,000 there and I was one). Once things with the ground returned to normal results quickly improved, 27 game unbeaten run ended in April 1989, at Leicester, on the same day as Hillsborough. We won the league by a mile from Man Citeh because we had the better team by some distance. Dixon and Durie were banging them in. Kevin WIlson added countless others, Graham Roberts must have scored about 150 penalties that season. With all that, I still doubted Campbell, the defence was fucking shocking but 2nd Div Champs we were. As Fulham Broadway has stated, the season back in Division One was a success. Finished 5th. We were playing decent stuff until December then, in successive weeks, we got cunted 2-5, both a home, by Liverpool and Wimbledon, which kind of flattened things off a bit. Older ones on here such as FB and whoever else may correct me as the sands of time take effect, but i'm sure Neil Warnock was offered the job before Campbell. Possibly Porterfield, but I think Campbell. Warnock was at Notts County at the time and had developed a really good team full of young players. Believe it or not, he refused the chance to manage us. Possibly something to do with having to deal with Bates. Fuck knows. Bobby Campbell, for me, never stopped banging on about Liverpool, which also would me up. As I said, I didn't fancy him as manager but thats not to say he wasn't a decent honorable bloke who done his best. I was genuinely saddened when I heard this news and my thoughts are with his family. R.I.P. Bobby Campbell

Costa hasn't done anything like enough to justify his place in the team. I know that can be said for a few players but he has done nothing for the best part of a year now.
-
Thank fuck for William. Absolute star this reason, and very much a lone star too.
-
Under the cosh now, nervy times
-
Slightly Off Topic, but am I the only one hoping that the Arse get tonked 0-7 tonight?
-
I hope he proves me wrong, I really do, but if it was down to me, Costa would be gone in January. It may fuck his confidence up, but with integrity and all that, I would love Jose to do a Tony Pulis and come out after the game and say "I thought at the time it was a penalty, but I have seen it again and it is clear that my player fell too easily, and that is not acceptable at this club". Two chances of that happening, slim and none, and slim has just left town.

Michael Owen is a complete and utter cunt "surprising that Fabregas felt the need to come out publicly and support his manager". Surprising is it??? When he was starting to be touted around as the one that knifed the manager? Not really Michael, not really. Oh, and Jose needs to stop the theatricals with the penalty claims. Costa took a dive, he may have had a finger on him, but he took a Tom Daley.
