You are right mate. He does seem to have a very good eye for detail and manages to get across to the lads just whats goimg wrong. Which have mostly been defending issues. All we have to do now is find out how not to get in them positions to start with. We are bound to make mistakes in some matches. Just as long as we learn from them and we go down fighting I can live with that. The scouse gits will be a good test , just would have been nice to have those 3 games in a few weeks time just to get some more practice in. I think the main problem we have is do we concentrate efforts to use him as a CB or DPM? With Jorgi here for awhile he wont see much time there. It seems Rudi will be here awhile too. Which only leaved Luiz spot. And if the reports are right then we will be going against the grain and giving him a longer term contract. It means we have 2 great young CBs both worthy starters in many games, trying to kick Luiz out.

LOL Maybe Luiz has selective hearing?

Again I think its seeing the whole picture of the game. I know theres many captains as defenders but IMO I think someone who is more central to the team has a much better idea of the way its going. He has or should have both offense and defense in his head, Daves not central. And something that puzzles me is Dave - as our captain and a great defender - hasn't been able to tell Luiz what mistakes hes making. He should be able to shout at him in the match and tell him just what he should be doing. And Luiz should be man enough and with the experience to let Dave tell him. Whether they are too close of friends and Dave doesn't want to rock the boat who knows But I've seen no signs of that. Have you?

It was him that was having all these so called injuries and being on the bench. Of course Luiz's attitude in the dressing room is a massive influence on ALL the lads. Like who mate? Theres only Dave that has the mentlity and above all character to even come into contention. This isn't a time to play at favorites. We need to have some sort of strength of character. Someone that can make decisions. I was watching the Spuds game tonight and found myself agreeing with something Hoddle was talking about He was asked what Spuds was lacking and he said above all they had no leader. They didn't have anyone in the team who could see what the team was needing to do and above all have the character, strength or above all the ability to say to a lad, someone like Kane that he needed to do such n such . Tell him he needs to be doing more of this or that. Someone that can do the managers job on the pitch. You can't tell me that anyone apart from Dave can do that job as well as Jorginho. Mate It makes no difference how long a players been with us if he can do a job. To me he has the trust of ALL of the lads, definitely the managers, and he is already basically doing the job without the armband. Tell me who of 'the oldies' has that ability and character to do this job?
