He will more than likely end up at some Champioship level club. i had high hopes for him after Dortmund and thought in the pre season he would stay. But he in no way set the world alight at Valencia and you would have thunk IF he was any good he would shine int a lesser level team. Shame cause I do like the chap.

But you forget we don't now or really ever have had the sort of magnetism that brings in players -0 TOP players. So we have HAD TO pay over the top for them. You never hear of a big player coming out saying their dream has always been to play for Chelsea! So we do have to pay over the odds if we want to compete. So you are saying you have offered us your record amount to sign a 18 year old unproven lad? 3 of those 6 you mentioned - again we paid well over the odds - were basically kak and we sold losing £millions. Tho I'm pleased we did buy the other 3 as it is hinting we are moving in the right direction.

No mate we don't go in big any more. The club has a 1 out 1 in policy and always like to get one out before buying in. Tho we do try to get one lined up before they go. Where most clubs would do it the other way round and bring in a new player then sell the old. We have been trying hard to abide by the FFP guidelines and gone are the days where we would buy volumes of players and thrown our money around.. And generally speaking we can buy players that really haven't been of any use to us.Which is nobodys fault but our lovely board of Directors. Tho it is promising that we have paid up for a couple of players just lately which has surprised me. Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

This is one of those comments that I didn't know where else to post it. IIve not been a member that long considering how long a lot of you have but I really like the site. Theres a good mix of people. All from varied backgrounds, with different opinions and all with love for Chelsea but showing it in various ways. I've read thru quite a lot of the old threads and some have cracked me up and can only guess what it was like when we had many posters. Where I would love to see us at least able to sign new members we could at least try to get existing members to come back - or to post more. I have always noticed that we have quite a few members that sign in but dont post yet they do use their 'like' buttons. Ive noticed also that some of them have been members for almost 10 years. All with differing amounts of posts - some only 5 or 6. But they do sign in when they visit which I don't fully understand as they don't have benefits from signing in. But I've begun messaging a couple, just saying hi etc and found them all to be nice guys. All interested in talking about the club and sharing opinions. I've noticed too that a couple I've reached out to have since began to join in conversations and made very good posts. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this?

Only in a very grey sense and am ummm self employed lol Whereas I get your point we are talking of people earning £millions and companys that could also lose £millions. I also suppose it depends on which club is getting shafted too. Your club is well known for doing anything and everything they can do get players. I do wish we would take more of that stance. Go into a player like we were Billy Big Bollox! A big pocket full of cash determined to get who we wanted and fuck everyone else. But sadly we don't.

I dont think we would be offering £40mill for a loan tho would we? And IMHO its completely daft if its for a 1 year contract which at 31 is all we would give him, Good! Love his character and had high hopes for him. And while he just might be better than our current 2 I'd rather not take that gamble with the shite we are in. See what happens with him in pre season.

Well I know that, you know that, but will his advisers and Bayern who will be blowing smoke up his arse telling him that he deserves to be playing every week, and needs to be playing in the CL every year etc, I am always one of playing the best player we have available and not just playing yoof for the sake of it. It was only a very short time back that Sarri came out in a interview saying that we had too large of a squad at 25 and we only needed 20/21!! It amazed me when he said it but IF all of those were of the standard they could all be starters then just maybe. But with Sarris rotation he might need even less.

Just been thinking. It might actually appeal to him coming here Playing with his national team mate Jorgi (we would only need Veratti then lol), knows Magic Box well, understands Sarri and his ways etc. Would help him to settle in and feel comfortable.
