Exactly. Even then. As Souness said on SNF, we've played our football, we've done the legwork. Now we just need to get over the finish line and I'm okay with that. Even Madrid had a couple of months where they struggled (and nearly got KO'd by Schalke). No team is immune to it and we carry the unique ability of being able to carry ourselves through.

Him and RLC sharing a CM spot would be great. Can't defend Ramires though. Completely ruins our rythm with his poor passing, dribbling, general footballing skills.
-
Don't forget that he ran his tits off. Impressive pressing, took up the slack from the lack of striker power.
-
For the role he plays I don't see why we didn't keep Frank over Ramires tbh.
-
If we'd played attacking football City style against United and lost 4-2 like they did you'd be asking for his head. I'm convinced Jose just can't win. Not showing United respect would have been a big mistake and putting Zouma on saved us the game.

4-1 CFC. Costa sensational brace on his return, sealing the golden boot in the process, one set up by Cesc and the other by Eden, goal scored by Eden and another from an unlikely Mikel supersub chip. just kidding, a JT header from 30 yards out, Thiago Silva style. Then in the 90'+5 of 3 mins added time Giroud does an incredibly theatrical dive and gets a penalty from Clattenburg and denies us a clean sheet at which point we can all laugh at Neil Ashton trying to invent a way of making it Costa's fault that the ref didn't blow his whistle 2 minutes before. :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Lol and that's all despite a City season ticket costing a shade under £100.

I'd like to see Oscar on the wing more. He posesses more pressing ability there whereas Willian shines in the middle. No brainer to switch them imo. NB: Just watched City's second counter attacking goal. Reminds me of us earlier in the season, and also why we need Costa back. We would have scored more yesterday imo, but Drog did his best, and we won, so it's fine. We kept all of their 'key players' quiet, and I agree with Jose when he said we had them in our pockets. It doesn't reflect well on us because we couldn't recycle the ball effectively but when we attacked we looked dangerous, we pressed all game, good signs imo. Even if they had Carrick we would have kept him quiet too. Long overdue for a big win, and I have a good feeling it'll be against the Gooners. 4-1 early prediction!

And in the old fashioned sense too
-
I have more confidence in him now he's shown he can be a defensive fullback, I think now that Jose asks him to play like this when Willian's on the flank because he has enough pace to overlap Iva.
-
Contrary to popular belief the only reason we played Zouma was to neutralise Fellaini, Young, and Herrera - who had the perfect combo of physicality and pace would have done our back line. Arsenal don't have this. Therefore I expect a fairly standard lineup of: Courtois Iva Gazza Terry Luis Matic Cesc Oscar Willian Hazard Diego/Remy
-
And Hazard is also more consistent than some of our 28 year olds. He's the exception, not the rule.
-
When bae looks upset...
-
Returns from his loan on Monday.
-
He's 23...
-
tbh if it wasn't for Ake being here I'd be all for Mikel staying - as a squad player he's more than adequate.
-
You're right, he was so fucking useless I reckon we should get Mikel to show him how it's done.
-
Can he press a la Hazard? If so Oscar Isco Hazard would be a pretty damn nice AM trio!
-
IMO I think next season we'll be seeing more changes in the team next season anyways. I can see another CM coming in, a new, quicker CB, a better solution for RB/LB, and maybe even a more technical RW than Willian. Could see Oscar moving there to make way for the CM, bring with it a barca style of play (/andy tate voice) That is unless Mou goes mad and we go back to 04-07 football. Courtois Azpi Varane Terry Luis Matic Koke Oscar Isco Hazard Diego Would be an absolutely fantastic team, if I ever see a team with so much balance and quality within it I am convinced it will not be bested (unless we could put Terry back in his prime)
-
Him and Fabregas and Hazard and to an extent DD did a wonderful job of carrying the pressing workload in such a defensively minded team. 2nd goal in 2 matches he has participated in. I was particularly impressed by how much Cesc worked. None of you can tell me Ramires woud have done that. I have full confidence that if we had Remy we would have scored more. But when you strikeforce is depleted and pace/strength isn't on your side this is the way you have to do it and we did a sterling job. And nobody can take that away from us. @DDForever: Here's a proposition, when you need more defensive presence in midfield, how does Matic-Koke-Oscar sound? Buying Koke, I agree, would allow us to cope better in matches where we are outmuscled/outpaced in midfield - he can do Fabregas' job right? As a playmaker. And having him and Oscar in the team would allow us to press more and better. Wouldn't do any harm being able to rest our midfield without having a massive downgrade in quality, too.
-
Have we actually had a 0-0 this season?
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA Redcafe fury at our win is sweet enough. Points: We played scrappy in the first half, but we grew into the game and played fairly well, considering our lack of pace. That was how they bossed us imo, physicality (Fellaini + Rooney) in midfield, pace on the wings. Nightmare for our defenders/midfield.
-
So the first half of the season, the 6-0 demolition of Schalke, WHO NEARLY BEAT REAL MADRID IN THEIR OWN BACK YARD, and the fact we've only lost TWICE, not beaten in the league at home... Need I go on? STOP FUCKING MOANING
-
Cesc's looking good imo.
-
Let's see how Ramires does now. Where's Solanke?
