He dealt with Fiorentina in pre season just fine. He's more defensively solid than Baba in my opinion. Baba will start against West Ham anyway and will get raped by Payet.

Christensen was great against Frankfurt in their 5-1 win. As someone said above, this is a golden generation of youth players coming up - at least 4 should make the jump fully, maybe a couple more will end up being bench boys

Musonda is out due to the fact that he's got on the bad side of management. His fate is his own making

Solanke, imo, will definitely have a look in at the expense of Falcao and or Remy - I expect both to go at the end of the season, a senior player brought in - (someone like Ibra) and then Solanke comes in too to be integrated.

RLC is crossing the bridge now. 45 minutes at the age of 19 is fantastic in a team full of superstars. And he will probably play 90 against Kiev.

Christensen might be given his chance depending on whether we buy and the overall state of defense at the end of the season (ie if Terry retires, returns to form, or becomes a player-coach). He is the epitome of a ball playing centreback and is very, very similar to Stones. He plays for Denmark's first team already. However I'd expect that we would not see Zouma-Christensen next season - I remember when Cahill-Zouma were playing against I think Palace and neither of them went for the ball and allowed the striker a free header. Zouma still needs Terry next to him to stop such mistakes, he is still learning. So therefore were Christensen to stay I reckon we'd see 2 pairings - Terry and Zouma (so Terry's lack of pace can be compensated for) and then Cahill and Christensen.

Colkett is another prospect I'm highly excited about. He reminds me of the good bits of Fabregas but with more defensive ability, and can recycle the ball very well - a classic number 6. If he doesn't make it I will be upset.

Obviously I'm missing a few/

I think they're both as bad as each other defending wiseYou will get the joy of watching him get a new arsehole ripped for him by Payet next week.
-
What happened to the lad? Heard absolutely nothing about him so far this season
-
I actually thought Fabregas was okay yesterday tbh but that was probably more down to the fact that Villa were so bad rhan anything else. His pressing vulnerability will always be his achilles heel. I saw Ramires run up to take a shot in the game and Fabregas took the ball at the last second and then lost it - sums him up tbh...
-
Actually changed my mind ------------Begovic --Aina Zouma JT Azpi -----------RLC Rami --Kenedy Oscar Willian -------------Costa Bench Amelia, Cahill, Baba, Matic, Cesc, Hazard, Remy Obviously it will never, ever happen but I'd like to think it could
-
I think it should be Terry, Dave, Loftus, Courtois. Strikers never make good captains imo - e rely on ours to organise the defence, from Diego's position he would never be able to do that.
-
If I were to choose a strike partner for Diego I would probably choose Troy Deeney.
-
Depends on the opposition. If we come across Bayern in the QFs then I'll understand, if we lose to Atletico again I would be pissed.
-
He will be next. I expect Oscar to return to the line up against the Hammers at his expense.
-
I'd be happy with a top 4 finish, CL semis and an FA Cup League cup double
-
Tbh the whole Watford team crumbled after Arsenal scored. Feel sorry for them, the first 60 minutes merited them at least a draw.
-
Let's also not forget that he will probably play at least 75 minutes in the midweek too
-
I'm not suggesting it's right. But you can't have your cake and eat it in a league like this. You either have defensive wingers and attacking fullbacks or free wingers and defensive fullbacks - in Spain you can have both because the opposition are weaker and it is more attack focussed. The only team in this country to come close is mid '00s Arsenal, and they leaked goals like a sieve and won nothing. I really want to see Aina, he held his own against full strength Fiorentina in pre season and dealt with them fine.
-
Afaik Baba-Hazard would have the same defensive capability of Iva-Hazard on the same side Azpi plays there to give Hazard the freedom to do what he wants
-
And he's doing well too, I'm certain he will take the place of Ivanovic in the squad next season
-
That's a myth, if he shines in training he will play
-
Ake is starting now against Arsenal
-
Formation change please, 4-4-2 flat. Begovic Azpi Zouma Terry Baba Kenedy RLC Rami Willian Oscar Diego
-
Still looks like invulnerable JT of last season when he has pace around him and that is one of the merits of Baba playing.
-
Think what you want mate let's end thus before it gets nasty
-
Yeah, you. Calling me a fucking retard is a different ballpark to telling you to get your head out your arse If you seriously think that with Iva in the side we would have conceded then maybe you should look at yourself before calling others mentally challenged.
-
As opposed to being beaten off the ball by relegation contenders. As another poster said, I can't see into the future. Sorry but if Ivanovic was in the lineup we would still have kept a clean sheet, their firstshot on target was in the 75th minute.
-
Erm no it's not if you remember the Maccabi game he got beaten by the equivalent of League 1 opposition in his channel frequently - mourinho said he is adapting and he is but I now see why he has been holding him back. And stop calling me names, I'd bite back but that's against forum rules.
-
He got skinned 4 times in the first half - if they were better opposition they might have better used the resulting opportunities I'm glad he's playing because he has youth on his side but to say that he has solved our defensive trouble is ludicrous
