  1. The only time I remember us playing a False 9 was against Conte's Juve. And that was one of the worst performances I have seen in the last decade or so.
  2. That too. At this moment, I'd take anyone. We have only Batshuayi..
  3. Thing is, when people make decisions while investing into projects, they look at the worst case scenarios too. He may be in his prime, but that doesn't guarantee the fact that he will definitely be successful in Chelsea. There's always that chance. Remember Shevchenko? If that happens with Auba, that's all the money down the drain, if he fails one season, we aren't going to look to replace him. If he fails for another season after that, that's the money gone down the drain, no resale value. What I mean is, we have to evaluate if Morata and Belotti really are that far away from Aubameyang that we are willing to go for Auba and not these guys. Who are really good players and yet to peak. Also, that players like these aren't always available in the market. We do have to improve the squad yes, but we need to factor in everything, not just 1-2 years. We did that under Mourinho, and we ended up selling De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku.
  4. No, it's actually about resale value. If Aubameyang comes here and fails, that's 70 mil down the drain. No one will pick him up for more than 20 mil after 2 seasons when he is 30. As for Morata and Belotti, they lead their country's attack at 23 and 24. And the countries are Italy and Spain. On top of that, they are highly rated for the future, will give at least 7-8 years of service (which Auba won't be able to), and if they fail, they will have a better resale value than Aubameyang. I don't think the difference between Auba and Morata/Belotti is as much to completely ignore the facts above. As you said, Real Life isn't FIFA..
  5. Looks like Belotti is off to Milan. He wants to go, clubs will agree the fee soon-ish.
  6. No reliable sources for that one. Every reliable source is saying the deal is done and he will be announced soon
  7. I don't understand how people come up with shit like "Oh, he was on the bench for Madrid, he isn't good enough, we don't want rejects." I bet they haven't seen more than 3 games of Morata in their lives, or hell, even one half of Belotti. It's important to note that in many games that Morata started, he started with Madrid's second string side, consisting of James, Asensio, Nacho, Danilo etc. It wasn't always Ronaldo/Bale/Benzema. So the whole any striker would have scored 15 goals, doesn't really apply the way people on here ae applying it. Morata has amazing link up play, will come deep to collect the ball and his fake runs are a thing of beauty. I feel he needs to be a bit better at winning Aerial Duels for the stature he possesses. Apart form that, he can finish, he can take long shots, get into good poisitions and has something no other striker in the market has, that's vision. Can pick a pass out.
  8. Don't know about that, but your pessimism makes me wanna leave this forum
  9. Bakayoko isn't in the Pre Season Squad announced by Monaco. Although quite a lot of players aren't there, Mbappe, Falcao, Mendy. Make of that what you will. http://www.asmonaco.com/en/article/squad-for-the-first-pre-season-camp-10041.html
  10. That's what I think the club is gambling on. Not matching agent bid pretty much tells us that. We are trying to lure Lukaku to Chelsea for what he feels for the club.
  11. Sorry mate, but whatever happens, I would never wish for things that aren't beautiful for Chelsea. To have read all that on a Chelsea board where fans get along to discuss about the club, this made me furious. I understand why people are disheartened, I am too, but this was pretty horrible to go through. I hope there are less people with the same mentality.
  12. The same people that didn't want Lukaku are now disheartened cause the club isn't getting Lukaku anymore..
  13. But that would have been in the middle of a season where we were leading the league without another striker in the team (Conte didn't play Bats at all). Don't think we'd have liked that one bit, especiall if we had messed up the league.
  14. Not sure why people on here are happy about Lukaku to United. You folks don't realize Costa is set to leave, Lukaku is the most settled striker in the league that's available and has years left in his career.
  15. It's not a secret that Juventus are being linked to Left Backs in this wondow, also the fact that they haven't yet stated the fact that Sandro is not up for sale, neither have they tied him down to a new contract. All this makes me believe that Sandro still has higher chances of joining Chelsea than staying at Juventus, I just think they want to identify a left back before they would want to let him go. Multiple meetings with Chelsea reps also means they aren't exactly against the deal, else it would have been off by now.
  16. But are Juventus willing to accept the 60 million bid? If they are, I'd totally expect him to sign, Marotta's comments on this saga last month makes me think Sandro wants to move too.
  17. You have Mad Lad in your name, of course!
  18. I hope we get some good news tomorrow, at least for the sanity of a few people on this page.
