Honestly, I'd choose Costa over Lukaku still any day. If we were lettng go of Costa and getting Lukaku to replace him, I'd have been a bit sad, but since it looks like we might be keeping Costa too, this would be an absolutely amazing signing.

I know someone that watches Serie A a lot and he is of the opinion that Belotti is better than Lukaku. HIs overall gameplay is much better and he knows how to score goals. Has good pace and is a threat in the air as well. 100 million Euros is a lot though, imo, for someone we didn't know about 1-2 years back.

The strikers that you just mentioned aren't close to what Lukaku is. I'll give you the reasons. Gomez - He is 31 and he isn't getting any younger, no reason to look at him. Sturridge - Great player, but can't play over 10 league games a season. Why would you want a player like that? Vardy - He is 30 and you're still undervaluing him. He is still a good galscorer. Romelu Lukaku is 24. He can score with his head, his left foot and his right foot. Has scored 24 goals and on top of that, only one was a penalty. I understand there are personal preferences, but just don't find whatever reason you want to, to call this signing a bad one if it happens.

Absolutely this, especially the last line. We should think of him as a new signing rather than an academy product. He is really good and juts turned 21. If we didn't have him already, we would have been linked with him for sure.

Some of the claims on here are laughable. He has been playing in an Everton squad that relies solely on him for goals and he scores those goals. Imagine a striker scoring 24 goals in the league with somene like Barkley and then imagine the service he will get frmo the likes of Fabregas and Hazard at Chelsea. Boy is really young, really looks up to a Club legend and associates himself with it. ROm is also such a good aerial threat, powerful, can bully the defenders inside the box. Also, I have followed a few Everton games, he doesn't score against top 6 much cause Koeman looks to shut up shop against them, he is quite literally the only man standing upfront in big games, can't do much about that, can you? He is juts 24 and is the best striker in his age group right now in the world. Has 5 years experience in the league and has scored a ton of goals here already with midtable clubs. Come on. Cut the guy some slack.

This. People want K2 to come here, that didn't know his name before he was even linked to us. Taking a chance at Romagnoli and other young CBs was always going to be a gamble, and how confident would we be playing them in the starting 11 without Terry being there? Lack of Experience would get to them. I am not concerned about his age, defenders usually play longer. And we needed someone with experience. He has it. And he has definitely improved since moving to PSG

That's BS. The game was a crunch game. He scored what proved to be the winner in the dying minutes. What I like about him is, he would give his heart and soul for whichever club he plays for. He is one of the very few players in the squad right now that love the club more than anything. This is a welcome move, especially since our squad has been gelling again, he will only make it better.

Neither were Azpilicueta or Ivanovic when we signed them. He was very young when he played for Bolton. He was really good at Sunderland too and Sunderland fans wanted to sign him permanently. I am willing to keep faith in the boy.
