If Oscar is out, not at 100% who else then? With Fab potentially injured too, Ramires will be playing CDM so Cuadrado will have to play. Mikel is also out btw.
-
Nope. Counter attack=City away last season, bus parking=this season same fixture.
-
Personally I would be extremely pissed if our seemingly negative approaches get us a 0-0 draw like it did with Atletico. It will be on a knife edge, I really think they WILL score at the Bridge so a goal here is a must, even if we lose 2-1.
-
Can't help with injuries...it is not our choice.
-
OK...complaining about not being positive enough away from home against big teams=criticism of overall attacking play
-
Yep of course I will if that happens and I am not complaining about our attacking overall this season but the general mentality of Mourinho against big team AWAY FROM HOME. Unless he surprises me I am fairly certain we will hear a lot more of these same things in the post match/Mou thread comes Tuesday night after we lost/barely draw. In fact I have been hammering home this negative aspect of Mou since that draw against City back in October. Against Liverpool a few weeks ago he did it again and shown he still kept that mentality, which is what frustrates me and I am fairly certain he will repeat it in 2 days.
-
At least it is not someone like Wolfgang Stark... Every time that dude ref us we lose
-
Truth hurts bro...
-
He hasn't scored a single goal in the CL, that is not good enough for a 32m player. How many people will fall for this?
-
Depends what he meant by 'top club'. If it is just someone like Arsenal, Liverpool...etc who are basically in the 2nd tier of football hierarchy then he got the potential to be at one in the future. But if he means like us, Man City, Barca, Bayern, Real...etc then he is gonna forever dreaming.
-
All we know is that he will park the bus very hard, don't be surprised by end of the match with less than 2 shots on target. A win is next to 0%, unless he surprises us all.
-
Penalty inflation
-
It all depends on Jose's approach. If he takes the safe/coward road we will probably lose, but if he shows some ball and allow the players to show how good they are(not gungho football) then we will win.
-
What is funny is so many think we will just go there and 'win'...hahaha you seen what we did against Liverpool, City...etc away. Why on Earth would he change it now? He did try attacking against Spurs and we basically got raped so from now on it will be full on bus parking mentality away from home against big teams/European ties like this one. Barcelona couldn't win here but we can...OK I predict Mourinho criticism to rise again next week unless he does a Wenger at City-aka discovering his 'eureka' moment and found a new way to play away from home against big teams.
-
All well and good atm but how will he approach the PSG game? If he chooses bus parking again and we lose it shows he hasn't learned his mistake and probably never will. This PSG game is about time Mourinho try to find his eureka moment instead of just the normal norm of settling for a draw/close loss away from home.
-
Fear of repeat of Atletico last season I would think
-
Naaa that is not how it will go down but I can see something similar to that based on our big results away from home this and last season. He will set out for a draw, they WILL SCORE and the plan goes right out of the window. Maybe we can ride our luck and escape with a 1-1 if we got great luck like against Liverpool a few weeks ago.
-
Or worse lose 4-1 aka Dortmund Real style 2013. Sometime going in with a defensive plan backfires and once they score it kind of crumble from there
-
Depends on our approach: Cautious plan(play for a draw) PSG 4-1 Chelsea Good game trying to defend well but occasionally show willingness to go forward: PSG 2-1 Chelsea Predict it will be the 1st part so PSG will win convincingly and we will go out of CL
-
As others have said, literally involved in the whole of 1st half, 2nd half not so much so not surprisingly withdrawn. Again I don't think this was the best game to make a judgement on him because Everton parked the bus so we couldn't really play freely. Next game against Burnley should give us a much better indication of how well he is fitting in. He certainly isn't afraid to run and play long passes though. Corner kick was honest pretty bad, but that can be worked on and with Fab now back it doesn't really matter I guess.
-
Did OK nothing special, not as good as Willian tracking back but got the potential
-
Is it just me or has he stopped running into the box as often as he did in his early Chelsea career? Nowadays I know he plays as a CDM mostly but surely Jose should allow him freedom against parked bus like today? That game away to Everton earlier this season was the only time I remember him doing it and he scored.
-
Last year he scored the winner in Italy for Atletico, this year he will do so for Chelsea in Paris.
-
Would be kinda funny if he kicks on from here and end this season with at least 10 goals/assists. From potentially being benched/sold to undroppable if he keeps this type of performance up. Football is a funny game haha
-
Tonight was not a great performance by him, which says it all how good he is. A lot of time his twisting and running got into good positions but his decisions making were a bit off. It is fine though, he has been great for the past few months so a game off is OK. Now need to rest for PSG
