I totally respect your point mate, but this is always relative. Barca's performance is soooooooooo boring yet very effective, and the fans don't care as long as they win. Real Madrid had more of a "dynamic", "enthusiastic" performances in the best years but they weren't effective and guess what the fan's were not happy. When a club is categorized as " World Class" the expectations are high. Much higher than the means by which they achieve it. Another point would be the type of players you have and the system implemented by the manager. Mourinho is a guy who is very successful and innovative in his approaches. Yeah sometimes he gets it wrong but apparently from his record in many clubs he got it right A LOT. Again what entertains people is different, but from my humble experience, when you get that win no body really talks about the way you played. Everyone celebrates and every one is happy. Wouldn't matter if you parked the bus and had 1 shot at the target and 30% possession or if you were all offensive with 20 shots on target and 70% ball possession. People only Really start deeply analyzing the game ( sometimes to a really exaggerated extent) when you lose or fail to achieve your targets. You think Italians really cared about their boring defensive style when they won the world cup? You as a Turk, did you really care when you advanced above group stages in the world cup? I really doubt. However you are entitled to whatever makes you happy. Again it is just my opinion on the matter

Buddy, Chelsea is a great team. A great team always seeks achievements and success. To do that you got to be smart. We are not a club that goes out there to give a theatrical performance, but rather to get what we want and that is glory. We will do that the way it suits us. Going all offensive, or parking a bus doesn't matter as long as we get the job done. Words like "disgrace", "honor", "hell"...etc are to be used in moral, ethical or any issue other than a football. You are way overwhelming yourself with such "deep" words for a football game

I agree. But in all fairness Willian had an above average first half. Hazard on the other hand was a puzzle to me. I would give him some excuse for being marked most of the time, but with his skills he should have evaded his marksman and created danger. But overall not a bad performance as whole from the team. Though clearly doesn't meet the expectations of a lot of fans in this forum
-
Looooooooooooool. Buddy wake up, wash your face and check the result again. You tied with us 1-1, in Turkey, at your stadium, with your fans in what your fans refer to as "Hell". I don't know where you got the 20% or 70% from, but the fact that you failed badly to get a positive result with home and fan advantage doesn't get any spectators hope higher. That would be delusional. It is funny to see Galata fans happy about such a poor result at home and Chelsea fans disappointed to get a positive result away.

Would have been good though to get that 3 nil result

A very strange game. First half everyone looked sharp. Azpi committed to forward runs on the break. Schurrle constantly creating space for others off the ball by always moving forward on the sides. As a team we applied pressure on them as soon as they approached half pitch forcing them to miss-pass all the time and catch them out of position for a counter. Should have easily killed the game within the first half an hour. Second half we were a completely different team. Deep defensive line. Lost the control of the midfield. Couldn't keep possession or create an positive passing forward. We just gave them too much space. A strange goal to concede too. Relatively high, medium paced cross in the center of the 6 yard area. Defenders should have dealt with it easily not to mention that Cech should have easily taken it or punched it way but he stayed at his goal line. We could have won and made it easier for us at the Bridge. Still a tie with an away goal is not a bad result at all. I am just surprised from the way we forced our game on them the first half just to give them all the initiative in the second half. Still a positive result we can easily accept and build on for the 2nd leg.

Sounds logical. I guess we will have to wait and see. But either way, 3 nil should get the job done, though it will definitely not going to be a walk in the park.
-
I wish we could get over and done with over there. 3 goals would do fine. But the players must show up mate. You think you would be offensive or play on counters?
-
But we can agree that it will be one HELL of a game though .

Dude you gotta chill out and start using your brain a bit. From all of what has been written in the forum regarding the matter no one attacked the Turks, they only attacked the stupid behavior of some Turkish fans and that is something you shouldn't be bothered about. Nobody is attacking a country or a religion. I know how passionate football fans are in the Middle East, but you have to admit that the way they support their football teams is radical. It takes the beauty and sportsmanship out of the game. Such acts has gotten people killed for A GAME. Same applies in parts of Latin America and other European countries. You know yourself how it is in your own Turkish league. I don't care if it is politics, revolution or even patriotism. It is wrong and the word barbaric doesn't even describe how low this behavior is. I don't know how many are stabbed other than one that is a friend of a guy here on the forum. And you know as well as I do that the Police doesn't really have to confirm anything if a report is not filed. Chill out, it is a game where the players themselves who struggle, get physical, injured win and lose shake hands at the end and swap shirts. If they take it as a game, then fans should too.
-
But if they crowd the midfield it might get quiet tricky. Are Luiz and Mikel definitely out or are they good to go?
-
Well either way that should be quiet an intense encounter tomorrow. At your stadium you will be fighting for a strong result against one of the best defensively organized team in the world and with real venom on the counter attack. Gotta watch out Lions cannot be tamed mate. Certainly not our lions
-
Many of Galata fans suggested 2-3-2-3 formation though. Eboue will be benched?
-
So who are your best starting 11 for this match in your opinion?
-
Ok. But as far as I know Mikel and Luiz are questionable. Matic not available. So who would play other than Ramirez?
-
Why?
-
Well you shouldn't. Chelsea is a team of 11. And whoever puts on that Chelsea jersey is a lion stalking preys and ready for the kill. We will get the job done and we have more than one lion that can do it. If I were you, I would be really worried when playing against the Blue Lions. You do not play well against a team who knows how to attack. When you faced such oppenents your nets conceeded a lot of goal. You should be concerned about your defense and your offense.

Reminds me of Beckham's return to Oldtraford and Ronaldinho to Camp Nou
-
Mate I agree with when you say stop calling Turks kebabs and mongs etc. However you seem like a guy excited by the intimidations and stuff. Vandalism isn't part of the game though. Threats aren't either. I understand playing mind games, putting pressure on your opponents or whatever. But come on, threats and vandalism is hardly excitement. I just hope we would see a good match and as a Chelsea fan I hope we win.
-
I hope they would react strongly on the pitch
-
I completely get it man. But honestly I have no clue what gets people to that level. It is a game. I have been watching soccer ever since I was 9 yrs old. I love the game. Loved the challenge and the thrill as a fan and as an amature. Loved winning and hated losing. But never to an extent to "kill" or "rape" opponents or rival teams. Such behavior reflects a lot of sickness in people who take it to such extreme low levels.
-
That doesn't sound like football no more. Strange how violent people can get over a football game.
-
I agree midfield is key not just in this game but in any game. But it seems that Mikel and Luiz are both questionable to play due to injuries. Mata is out. So i think that battle of midfield will be very interesting without our holding players
-
Totally agree. Maybe winning the league wasn't Jose's main target at the beginning of the season but now the belief is there. With few games left like you said, the players must be feeling that dream. The fact that Mourinho says that we are not going for it doesn't take that ambition away from the team. His comments are only to take pressure off of the players and put it on City and Arsenal.
