Willian should have released salah there!!!!

Not a bad first half. Salah needs to provide more options and run more. Willian and Oscar need to pass quicker. Ivanovic shouldn't be running with no purpose at all. Needs to linkup. It is only halftime, I see us picking it up.

he is doing fine in my opinion

What a finish

Don't worry about that. Starting a third game in a row, shows that he earned Mourinho's acknowledgment. Mourinho will not be risking playing him, if the kid doesn't have the capability. God willing, he will perform well like the previous two games.
-
Did not expect Schurrle to start on the bench. Definitely expected Cole to start, and what is the news with Cech? Hope he is ok and recovers fast. I am hoping to see a good game from Oscar today. If he is on today, he will be able to release Willian and Salah and feed Eto with good passes. Interesting lineup. Looks good. We really need all 3 points. If the guys don't put a great performance then I really don't care as long as we bag and tag those t3 points.

Which team do you support?

I don't think at the level Mourinho is at he will be thinking in this way. He knows very well both are achievable. He will definitely put focus on both championships equally. A character like Jose, who always emphasizes on players that want to win, will no back off himself. He will approach both games with the intention of winning for sure. Bayer/Real are both beatable. They have been beaten this year. The players too have the character and mentality of winning. They are as hungry as Mourinho is, if not more. They need to add to their credentials so bad, you could see it against PSG. If Mourinho or the players felt like giving the CL a second priority, they would have shown that at the PSG game. I am confident they will give both Championships the same priority, and they will focus at one game at time. Whether they do it or not, they are already winners from the way I see it. But I would still love to see those trophies this year. Both are very realistic. They just have to go and get them.

Too soon to worry mate, even if he doesn't show greatness in the first half of season. Remember he will need to adjust to the system and the new players. Part of his success at Atletico is his teammates understanding him and feeding him passes in the right places. I think we can evaluate him properly after one season. But ofcourse I expect to see some sort of positive impact offensively.

I love the optimism. I am optimistic that we will win. By all means I hope it will be a walk in a park. I don't think that will be the situation. Sunderland have 6 games left (18 points). They will fight every match for points and they will do their best to stay in the EPL. That means the match will not be easy. If we score many goals that will be great, but I will be satisfied with 3 points regardless of the score line.

If you mean horrible performance regarding Salah, I would disagree. He did well, but not great. If you mean a horrible performance as a team, I still disagree . It has been our problem all season long that we have a poor chance to goals ratio. We tend to miss a lot. For a moment forget about the two chances in the first 15 mins wasted by Salah. We had many other chances. Two of them should have been really simple for Eto if he was on his normal day and a third pass that Eto just stopped. Watch the highlights again, you will see what I am talking about. If we took our chances we would have won this by at least 3 goals if not more. Nothing against Schurrle, but it is not like he takes a lot of shots and scores consistently from long ranges. By all means he can and he has a good shot, but it is not like he has been doing that a lot. Well anyways, I can't say what might have been if Schurrle was on and Salah was out. We will never know really. I am glad we got the 3 pts at the end.

Well the first, Salah is not different from any young player at Chelsea. Like Oscar, Schurrle and Hazard, very young. It will take time till he matures as a football player and for him to find his form. He will go, like any youngster in the world, through inconsistency phases. It is quiet normal brother. The important thing is that he keeps progressing. He is a good kid and a smart one. He believes in himself and is hungry. Check out his miss against Newcastle on his debut. He was mad at himself for that miss. Check his reaction every time he misses or feels he should have done better. The kid believes he can do better and wants to. Such a character will succeed. All in good time As far as people's reactions are concerned, well it is really ok. You know how we as Egyptians react when someone misses a shot or an easy chance . The English, French, Brazilians, all football fans are kind of the same. It is the beauty of football or sports in general. After than win of Liverpool, all we need is for us to win our remaining games and for City to drop 2 more points (one draw). This means Chelsea against all odds will be the EPL champions this year. So it was really crucial for us to win those 3 points. If Salah scored his two good chances, fans would have been relieved. It is normal to have negative reactions. But look at the bright side, most fans here in the forum like the kid, have hopes that he might be something great and support him, while at the same time acknowledging that he needs to work on himself more. I trust this kid, but as I said, all in good time .

Judging on the first half performance, Salah was moving better than Schurrle and finding the right spots. The two BAD misses he had in the first half, came from him being in a good spot and ofcourse good passes. Schurrle by all means makes good runs, but he wasn't doing that in the first half as much as he usually does. I think that was why he stayed. Schurrle had nothing. Another thing is, I think it is wise to rest as much players as possible for the upcoming game. I know that the 3 points are crucial, but the difference between Salah's game and Schurrle's is not that big.
-
It is funny you say that. It is true. He plays ok with his right but he doesn't trust it well. You would see him attempting to use the outside of his left foot, more than he goes with his right. That was ever since he was in Egypt. Good eyes mate

He definitely needs work. That is why the moderate Egyptian fans wanted him to join Chelsea and not Liverpool,Spurs or Atletico (rumored). We have a great talent foundation in Egypt at very young ages. But because we lack so much in the professional aspects of football, kids start picking some bad football habits as far as technique is concerned. Under Mourinho, he will develop better and mentally be stronger and more aware. If he had went to pool, I doubt he will develop much. If you noticed in that video, when he tries to pass to Demba and Eto, he usually doesn't try to pass where the player is exactly but a step or a couple ahead of him. He needs to adjust. These passes would work with Oscar, Willian, Schurrle, or Hazard (players with pace), but not with Eto and Ba.

Mohamed Salah's touches vs Swansea
-
Why do many people saw him playing as a pivot? I thought it was too obvious that we changed formation.
-
Well buddy we don't know what he will be like at his peak do we? . Most people recognize his talent. If he is as bad as you think, then I don't think Mourinho will be trusting him with matches. But the fact is the kid is good. He has been getting his form back steadily now. He has the potential to be a world class player for sure. He might achieve, or he might not, that really depends on him aong with other factors. Different players have different development curves. He doesn't have to be a superstar all of a sudden. Give him till next year. It will be his second under Mourinho and you will be able to evaluate him better. With young players you have to be patient, because no one can really tell. It is easy to judge a fully developed mature player, but not a youngster. All in good time.
