Remy has a heart problem, that's why he failed his medical. Besides, Lukaku is better than him.
-
Lavezzi or Carlos Bacca are two good, realistic options. But they won't be home-grown and Torres will more than likely still remain.
-
Dee, this is Chelsea FC. We always find a way to fuck something perfectly good up and look like absolute clowns, so don't be surprised if we bring in nobody.
-
Lukaku : 32 goals in 66 EPL games. Torres : 21 goals in 110 EPL games. All of a sudden, we don't look as strong as we should be anymore. It's as you were for us. If Costa gets injured or struggles for form initially, we're fucked. If we don't bring in a replacement for Lukaku, we're fucked. Say what you want about the player's attitude but this is poor mismanagement by the club. This could potentially turn out to be much worse than the Sturridge deal.

Honestly, this new Madrid pink kit is an eye sore. Grown men kicking a ball in a pink kit is embarrassing.
-
What? I grew up in London. I'm not sure what your point is and I know what a yob is. And of course I didn't mean all our supporters. Man United fans knew when to stop singing Moyes songs when they realized the damage he was doing to their club. It's my personal opinion and it wasn't even the main point I was making. But you always take everything personally, so whatever.
-
Maybe they're messing with us now. NOTHING makes sense about this Lukaku business.
-
Fair enough. Nobody will buy him but we aren't forced to play him. What we were all expecting though was for Mourinho to create a situation were Torres is 3rd choice and is exiled from the group, like Ba was last season. Or even make him the 4th choice (with Costa, Lukaku and Didier ahead of him) and give him the Bogarde/Malouda treatment. We need to make him feel uncomfortable at the club after all his well documented failures. The yobs at the Bridge who still stupidly chant his name are just clueless. Now, if Lukaku goes, he has a chance to fight for 2nd spot against a clearly past it Drogba.
-
I also don't think he's stupid. What is the possible justification in 2014 for thinking that Torres and Drogba are "good enough"? There isn't. Torres is literally one of the worst strikers in the league and Drogba is 36. . At the end of the day, Jose will have to live or die by this particular decision as it could end up costing him his job. Right now, it makes no sense.
-
He also happens to be a homegrown player as well, a quota we're struggling to fill now. 32 goals in 66 PL games. 1 goal every 2 games and he's only 21. No player his age even comes close to that. Torres on the other hand has 21 goals in 110 PL games and is 30. Drogba at 36 was deemed not good enough for bloody Galatasaray.. Yep, makes sense to let him go. Just a few months ago, this same player said we're the "biggest club in England" "he wants to play here" "Chelsea have a good coach". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2646047/Romelu-Lukaku-insists-wants-stay-Chelsea-despite-uncertainty.html The question is what has gone wrong in the space of June to August? I'm not going to bash the player yet because it seems that Mourinho simply doesn't want him. Now, even if we want to sign a replacement, we are still left with the problem of Torres. Drogba also compounds that problem since he's not home-grown. P.S : I don't care about his so-called attitude. He's only 21 and that can be improved upon. Besides, different players have different personalities. It will be a massive failure on our part, akin to Man Utd selling Pogba to Juve or us selling Sturridge to Liverpool.

Even if Lukaku leaves, I still feel we have at least a good a squad, or even better a squad than Man City, but our attack once again is left depleted quality wise. Goalkeepers : Cech and Courtois is certainly better than Hart and Caballero. Defence : Filipe Luis, JT, Cahill and Azpilicueta + Ivanovic just might be the most solid back four in Europe. It edges out Kolarov, Kompany, Mangala and Zabaleta + Sagna. Mangala, while he may be a great athlete is prone to make mistakes and Kolarov is a good attacking LB but Luis is much more solid than him. Azpilicueta right now is probably slightly better than Pablo "I like to get f**ed by Hazard" Zabaleta. Midfield : Matic, Ramires, Fabregas, van Ginkel, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Willian, Mikel and Romeu is just simply incredible, one of the top 3 best in Europe. It has every single quality you want in a midfield. It's better than Fernando, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, Nasri, Milner, Navas and Garcia. It has more variety and quality than Man City's midfield. Attack (without Lukaku) : Costa, Torres and Drogba is simply not as impressive as Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic. Those 4 are much better than Torres and Drogba. A guy like Aguero if he stays fit this season is just as deadly as Luis Suarez in my opinion. Now, if this wasn't Costa's first season, it will be a different story. I don'y expect him to start many, many games his first season. He will need time to adapt to the pace and intensity of the league. We have better goalkeepers, defence and midfield than Man City but they are easily stronger in attack. And we saw last season with Liverpool how a superb strike-force can carry an above average team to greatness. We saw it with Man United in Fergie's last season there.
-
Regardless of how you slice it, striking options of Costa, mediocre Torres and 36 year old Drogba simply doesn't inspire confidence, regardless of our other signings this summer. If Lukaku is really going to be sold and we have no real contingency plans to bring in a quality striker to replace him, then I have to make Man City favourites to retain the league. I trust that our board are at least looking for a viable replacement. If not, none of it makes sense. Absolutely none of it.

This is too cute to be true, lol
-
He did a LOT wrong. Gave it away anytime he touched it while pretending to be a good dribbler. It was his first game in pre-season, yes, but it's still the same rubbish we see from him.
-
Nothing "enigmatic" about him. He's horseshit. Pure, unadulterated cow dung.
-
Impressed because he's sharper than I expected for his first pre-season game. Ran the channels well and combined his pace and power to aplomb. His forte. Brutal, class finish too.
-
Torres doing a Torres, lol. Atletico/Monaco, save us from this guy
-
Just arrived from church and saw that. Sweet strike from Costa. Don't tell me some people were already complaining
-
The RAWK thread on Mourinho is truly sickening. They're obsessed by him, but what else do you expect from that gutter club. About Costa's Mourinho comments. I read a retraction on Marca.com with Costa basically saying he never said that and how Simeone is still his numero uno.
-
It's on the CFC youth twitter page. Reliable twitter.
-
Lol, I'm only quoting what he said. I doubt Didier got his inspiration from FM when he said that!
-
"As a senior member of the squad, I'd like you to tutor Romelu Lukaku as I feel you can help improve his game." ------ Drogba just said this. Hopefully, this is a hint that he knows something about Lukaku staying and Torres fucking off.

Welcome home, Didi.
