He's an amazing player no doubt and one of the best ever but even Mourinho considers Brazilian Ronaldo and Maradona to be better players and I'm starting to agree with that. Just how good is this current La Liga is the question.
-
Mourinho said it will take a month or so when he commented about it 2 weeks ago. There is no set date.

] The French media is so embarrassing, Canal Plus precisely. How many times must they ask Hazard the same question?

I'm not going to get to carried away with Willian. One moment he's fantastic (usually when the team as a whole is fantastic) the next he's dreadful. Let him put in a string of impressive performances first.

I have no doubt in my mind Costa is the best striker in the world. Giving what he did with Atletico last year and what he has done with us, if he continues to bang them in, surely he has to be top 3 for Ballon d'Or in an ideal world. Ideal being the key word.

Horribly late at my end

Oops, I was responding to the getwestlondon headline, not the sky one. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-boss-unsure-how-eden-7846862?utm_source=Get+West+London&utm_medium=twitter

I dunno, Mourinho is going to have to be clever with his team selection for this one. Team rotation has to be considered I guess.

Amateurish journalism that headline is. Would expect better from Dan Levene.

That's actually a decent Arsenal forum. I usually go to the onlineArsenal.com one.
-
It doesn't make much sense for us really but he's a fantastic player, Coleman. One of the best fullbacks in the league. A monster when he overlaps as well.
-
6-0, 5-0, 8-2 for Real and Barcelona What a terribly boring, lopsided league this is.
-
The lesser of two evils.
-
Spurs score.
-
Only a matter of time before Arsenal scores.
-
Arsenal's medical team is really pathetic. Every season their entire team is plagued with injuries. Ramsey now out as well. Good news for us for the upcoming match.
-
Shocking goalkeeping from Howard. He's been gash all season.
-
No Filipe Luis again.
-
Nice to see Besic starting.
-
Absolutely beautiful. I wonder if we will ever see stuff like this at the Bridge some day.
-
Pure fantasy.

None of those players are better than him and I'm a huge fan of Isco ever since the U17 World Cup. I can't really make a case for Barkley because like many English players, he's built up a big reputation without achieving much. He's definitely not on the same level as Gotze, Oscar and Isco. An argument could be made for Isco, his ball skills are Iniesta-like, much better than Oscar's,and his shooting accuracy is very good but apart from that Oscar is much better without the ball, more verstatile (can play very well on the sides, Isco can't) and has a better range of passes. Vision is about the same, neither is great in that department. I'll still take Oscar over him. All in all, there are very few CAM's out there that fit Mourinho's system better than Oscar. He got rid of Mata specifically because of that. I'll rather see us get rid of average players like Willian and Ramires before even contemplating selling Oscar. Oscar right now needs to hit the gym and get physically stronger because it costs him in certain situations. He is tough and a competitor but his frame is very lightweight. Mourinho said so himself. Getting more muscle will accelerate his development.
-
Anyway, I'm still waiting for the list of CAM's in world football 23 and under that are better than Oscar or as complete as Oscar both on and off the ball.

If not performing in the winter is a criteria for this being a make of break season for him then we might as well sell our entire squad because excluding last season, we rarely perform in the winter. Besides, the sample size is too small to draw such a conclusion. Two seasons ago under Benitez, he didn't seem to have many problems in the winter or 2nd half of the season or whatever. The point is the impatience some of our fans show to some of our better players is not good enough. It would make sense if Oscar was a rubbish player, but he's a fantastic player so what's the problem? ffs.
-
I don't understand why this is a "make or break season" for Oscar. How pathetically fickle. If it really is "make or break" for Oscar then it has to be the same for 5 or 6 other players at the club. He should be the least of our concerns now. Thank goodness some of you are just fans and hold no executive, decision making power within the club. And it's not as if he's been poor for the most part or anything. Apart from his poor second half to the season last season, he's been brilliant. But that blemish in his performance level is his one sin I guess. Most of our rivals will die to have such a player in their team. But, no let's "sell him to PSG" because he's not playing like Ronaldinho in his prime and living up to delusional expectations. The fact that Chelsea is building a team for the future of course is not important. The fact that Oscar is 22 and far from his peak is irrelevant. I'll like to see Oscar's critics produce a list of attacking midfielders, specifically central attacking midfielders under 23 in world football that are better than Oscar. You'll seriously struggle to do so. Remember the grass is not always greener (Mesut Ozil anyone?) on the other side before making ultimatum's for our players.
