Jackson taking his chances. Colour me surprised
-
Which fans? I'm all for having more teams and such, but the lesser teams from stronger leagues should have to qualify like 10 or so years ago. That would certainly limit the number of sides of this calibre qualifying for the "biggest club competition" in the world. Even though I don't mind the change in format, I was worried about one-sided scorelines being commonplace. Let's see what happens over the next two days. With regards to the Super League, you need the product as a whole, and smaller teams do their bit to add to it. Milan V Liverpool tonight might not have ended 9-2; however, it was a very one-sided affair, with the post saving Milan on numerous occasions.

I remember that night where Lyon did the unthinkable against Zagreb to qualify for the KO stages (Gomis scored the fastest CL hattrick which was only beaten recently by Salah) & noises of corruption were rife. Any talk of that tonight? There's no excusing this type of scoreline in such a competition.
-
A rough night for him. He conceded seven against United.
-
Kane with his third PK. That is surely a CL record, right?
-
Captain America gives Milan the lead within 3 minutes. Is Arne's honeymoon over already?
-
Moment of the match. You've got to love the passion.
-
Our first away cleansheet in 17 league games. Sanchez had a major role to play, but Sancho gave us that spark in attack. A great debut. Shootout to Veiga for his celebration too. 😄
-
Taylor's ego is out of control. He's dying to send someone off in white.
-
Jackson with his childish behaviour. Two yellows cards in 4 games. Another worldie from him.
-
It's because they actually have a decent CF. Liverpool & Chelsea don't.
-
He's going to turn into Drogba anytime now. Just have to give him some time....
-
It just feels like at any moment our defence are going to implode. Sanchez saved us for a change, but we need to be taking chances as is always the case. Jackson looking his same old.

I'm aware such clauses exist, but they really shouldn't be a worry if both parties are keen on the move. Fulham reportedly had to pay us an additional £4 million for Broja's loan term on top of his wages. In any case, wouldn't it be better to loan players to clubs in need of them & have a high chance of getting game time? Just look at the farce that was Santos' loan to Forest. He might as well have been on a holiday for 6 months.
-
These types of conditions just emphasise the fact whoever is putting these deals together is worried about the financial side rather than player growth. If a club really wants a player and believes they can improve their squad, they'll play. Inserting these idiotic clauses like the one Broja had at Fulham does little to nothing for the player.

It's not like Chilwell is ever present. On the odd occasion we might need him, he'll probably be injured too.
-
To be honest, Madueke's transfer back to England benefits him a lot more than Mudryk. We don't know if Mudryk has acclimated to life in the UK despite being here for quite some time, and there aren't many Ukrainians plying there trade over here. Some players can deal with the difficulties surrounding them or pressure, while others just can't hack it. This season is obviously make or break for him.

It might sound like a good life for someone who doesn't have a family. If they do, constant upheaval isn't ideal, or just being away from loved ones for an extended period.

As I mentioned is another thread, MF is a position where we are currently stacked. James' selection has to be out of necessity rather than anything else.
-
I feel like Carney not getting a move away could be a blessing for us. His inclusion in our selection should result in some playing time, which is nearly guaranteed. I'm not sure I can say the same about Casadei. Lavia's exclusion must be due to his injury problems & the fact we're stacked in MF. James being captain, along with us not being blessed with FB's, obviously meant he wasn't afforded the same treatment (for better or worse).
-
How can his stock be high when he's hardly fit? I'm sure the way our board works, they'd like to ship him off for some juicy profit if the chance came about.
-
Better late than never, I suppose. The harm has been done; whether that lasts for four months or till next May will show how bad the decision ultimately was.
-
I thought there had to be a clause. Either way, I can't see any side of note touching him in Jan after his agent's antics.
-
Al Nassr seemingly have a taste for Brazilian youngsters. They want some company for Wesley. At least we have someone to drop a few should they not turn out to be much (quite likely).
-
He does have his moments, though. Another one we were in for prior to his move. What might have been all over the pitch... 😞
